hope you are all well?

Chan - I'm so glad that there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. I hope the hernia is not causing any damages and that it can be fixed soon!!! Bleddie hernia, go find somewhere else to stay!!!

Chris - the A-team is so cute - gorgeous. I'm sure that there is so much laughter in you house if I think how much joy we have with Inge. And funny if I look back now at the beginning I cannot believed she cries so much and now she smiles from morning to night.

Chris re piercing - I thought that I would have her ears pierced early but then I have read that apparently the ear lob grows until age 2 and it might be that they do the piercing skew?! But then all my friends pierced their kid's ears at an early age (6 weeks / 3 months / 1 year etc). At the moment the feeling in our house is to wait until she can decide if she wants earrings but then hey, I have said so many times I'm thinking ..... just to change my mind tomorrow. (hope I answered your question)

Inge loves rolling from her tummy to her back - she also starts to semi roll from her back to her tummy (with a bit of help from us).
She loves the Olli range of food. I did try to give her home made food in the beginning but she did not like it (not giving me a good rating in the kitchen LOL) but I have tried again on Friday night and she ate the home made carrots / squash combo. Saturday morning I cooked a lot of carrots / squash and frozen it. I will start giving her chicken breast (chopped finely) from 6 months. but boy does she eats. Thursday night she almost finished a 80ml Olli and then still had milk after that. She eats porrige for breakfast (Gluten Free rise or maize); veggies for lunch and veggies for supper plus then she has almost 1 llitre of milk and she stays skinny but I can see the cheeks are getting fuller.

Question - isn't there a growth spurt at 6 months?

Thanks Chris - I'll definitely post once we know what's going on. But you're right - at least if it is the hernia we'll know what's been going on all this time.

wanted to say, they chew on everything, their hands, their siblings hands, i have to change their blankets often cos they chew on it too and them a big patch is wet, lol.

Firstly, Chan, I am so happy that there seems to be some answer for you, its probably not nice to say but you actually hope that it is the hernia then you know for sure what has been bothering him, poor thing, hope he gets better soon so he cabn get checked out, let u sknow the results. Binks, I still keep contact with Yvette, she is well, just busy with work and the 3 kiddos.

Vix, so glad you have many orders, as you say with the walking ring, thats what I do with tv, my babies love it, but I give them toys and all that other stuff to entertain but they get bored.

AFU, well, Alexia seems to be doing better at night, she has been on the losec, but hells bells, I have no idea what has made her better, she still wakes once or twice, but no where near like before. Things we have done: Magnesium, losec, prodol, nurofen, changed pillow, put my top with her. I dont know which has helped her, dh wants to give her nurofen every night and I dont want to because i want to see what it is thats helping, so last night I didnt give her nurofen, it too a while for her to settle, she screamed, I think she hurt her gum with her dummy but I got her to sleep, she woke up about 3 times last night.

They talk so much! It is so cute. Alexia screams at her teething toys, pulls them out her mouth, puts it back in and screams some more, she also makes noise when you tap your finger on her mouth. They all take their dummies out their mouths an dput it back in, doesnt always go in first time, but they getting there.

Theu are on the purities, I had given butternut a few days and then gave them carrots, and then tried butternut again, they didnt want to know about it, the faces they pulled! But they like the carrot, so I just mix them now (more carrots tho). Oh yes, Alexia is sitting nicely, still got to be supported a little, but she manages on her own for a while.

Wanted to ask the ladies with girls? When/Are you piercing ears? I want to go this week as they are already aware of what/where their hands go.

Iv been sick, the girls are starting to cough, hope they noy getting sick!

On the nanny, nope, havent found one, trying one tomorrow, she is my cousins but my cousin is moving to sasolburg, so I can only get her full time end of the month, but she says she is good, so hopefully worth the wait but we'll try her tomorrow and saturday.

Morning!

Well I didn't post much from last week. We saw a 3rd paed for a third opinion about Kade.

She said it's definitely not colic!!!!!

So plan of action:

Did urine sample to check for bladder infection. Should get results today.

She says his hernia is extremely large and needs to be seen by a surgeon immediately.

So we were supposed to have an ultrasound done today on his abdomen and kidneys but now he's sick. She said what could happen is the hernia could be growing on the inside as well and pusing on his colon or have moved his internal organs which could be causing the stomach pains at night.

But now my little man is full of green snotties and extremely unhappy so she said to wait a bit now and then rebook everything.

She also says Kade isn't eating enough?? WTF????????? Have you seen the size of him - he weighs 11.2kgs!!! She says he should be drinking 275ml milk but he's only having 180ml. He also needs 3 meals a day, he was only eating twice a day. She's made me start cereal now as well - but the maize cereal because he reacted so badly to the rice cereal he may be allergic to rice.

And I need to put 2 teaspoons of cereal in his 7/8pm bottle because those pains and noises at night could actually be hunger pains because he's stool is khaki green - that shows hunger she says.

So we've been doing that since Friday and on Friday night he slept like a bomb! Woke up once for a bottle. But started getting snotty on Saturday and now the sleeping's gone because he's sick!

So in 2 weeks we'll be doing the ultrasound and seeing the surgeon about his hernia. Hopefully we'll get some answers soon about his tummy problems!

But Dr says stop all colic meds immediately because it's not colic and we're just giving him meds for no reason and wasting out money.
