HI ladies,

Sorry for all the babas and mommys that have been sick, its terrible, its been like that in our house too!

Took Athena to the paed this morning as she is just stuggling to breathe thru her nose, no sign of infections but her nasal passages are swollen so have cortizone for her nose.

The other 2 were also sick, still a little bit of snotty noses but nothing compared to Athena, poor baby.

Chan, so sorry about little Kade, really hope either his earrs are sorted, or they can put the grommets in. How do u pick up the fluid in the ears? Is it just waxy or what? My babies havealot of wax that comes out, but apparently that is good because it means its draining? I forgot to ask the paed today. Oh, if Athena isnt better in a week its off toent for her too. But I think she will be fine. You know, getting up 14 times in one night is like me getting up 15 times for 3, so honestly, dont feel bad for getting a nurse, if its means it keeps you family alive/sane then so be it. I know a lady that has a full time nurse, for one baby. You have no reason for feeling bad.

Vix, glad C's op went well!! I will put the list up shortly.

Hope everyone is well, only getting a full time domestic from the 1st, my mil's maid has been helping me but she leaves early and that is when babies feed is now. I have changed their feeding routine, they are back to 3 hrly, but they having their porridge/fruits/veg, they love it. It is so cute. Cleared a few things this monring with paed about how, what, when and why, lol. SO feeling a bit better about what they have been eating and drinking. Wow, they ar ereally keeping me busy, I dont have much time for anything else. I do find now that they have this new routine they are "sleepy" more often, so I think now they are satisfied for longer, and theyre getting bigger anyway so more food.

Chan/Mandz, hubby and I take turns at night, and Chan, well, i'll get up during the night and then from 4 I wake dh every time i hear them. I should wake him up earlier, but the thing is if they wakee from 4 and dont go back to sleep then dh is awake from that time and then goes off to work, so its also a long day for him then. Last night I was in bed asleep at 21h30 (earliest since I cant remember when last) then from 2am, I was up also so many times, also not even 45mins intervals, then I was up at 4am with Athena struggling with her nose and trying to clean it out. If the nights get like that and one baby particularly keepps waking, I land up putting thme in my bed or in the cot in our room.

Anyway, mil cooking supper, must see if she needs helps ;)

Chan, Inge did go to the Pead about a month ago and she referred us to the "hearing clinic" where the pressure in Inge's ears were tested - ended up being totally wrong (too much pressure in the one ear and too little in the other). She went back about 2 weeks later and it was better. The Pead did mentioned that a middle ear infection can take up to 3 months to clear but in the mean time I'm just worried about the medicine that is being given every so often to help for the pain etc. so like I said I am seriously considering taking her to an ENT and to do the grommets thing.

Ster - I've taken Kade to 3 different paed's and 2 GP's and none of them picked up fluid in his ears. I made an appointment with an ENT specialist and he spotted it. Maybe take her to the ENT specialist in case the paeds are missing it.

If I had my way, I'd have grommets put in and adenoids and tonsils out! Kyra has only been sick 3 or 4 times since having all that done.

Vix hope C is ok. He will be though - Kyra was perfect after all 3 sets of grommets. It's the pre-med that makes them mental - I refuse to give it!

Hi ladies

Hope you are all well?

Sjoe, it was quiet here.

Vix - hope C is better soon.

Chan - hope your LO will be sorted out soon and you can get some much deserved sleep soon. I honestly don't know how you do it - I feel like a wreck if Inge wakes up 5 times a night (which doesn't happen often normally it is twice a night). Re night nurse - don't feel bad - you all need your rest and if it is the only way to get rest then so be it. I have also considered getting one especially when DH is travelling but you definately need it more than what I do. I hope they do the grommets soon.

O yes Vix - there is a company that is doing the baby grow with the feet - I will look for the website and send it to you

Maryke - soon you will be in you house - I know you cannot wait. how's the twins?

Chris - how's the A-team?

Lizelle - hope you LO's is better. love what you did too the room

Mandz - hope you are feeling better soon.

Suriya, Binks, MommyN, and all the other ladies - hope you and your LO's are all well?

AFM - Inge is 6 months old today - cannot believe that this time 6 months ago she was only an hour and a bit old - and after all the crying and sleepless nights we got her to 6 months!!! LOL. I still look for pearlies every morning but nothing. she is again snotty and coughing and I'm seriously considering taking her for grommets too.

I have heard too many stories of kids with hearing problems / speech problems at an older age and it is in most cases due to fluid in the ears etc. I'm still convinced that is the reason why she is still not sleeping thru at night and the almost constant rubbing / pulling of the ears also makes me wonder. I will sleep on it the weekend but my gut feeling tells me to take her back to the Pead to check the ears again and to take it from there. I cannot give her medicine every day

Okay, let me get back to work - so not in the mood to work but hey there are bills to be paid and mouths to be fed!!!!!

have a great weekend!!!

Hi ladies,

Sorry I have been so so scarce, just forever busy.

C has gone in for his Grommets today. Daddy took him in bercause I'm home with the boys, down side to having too many kids.

The tweenies are doing well, Jono has got a runny tummy again, can't work out why, not given him anything new to eat but his bum is sore again, I suppose it must be teething poir monkey.

I made C a kiddygrow and it's the most impractical thing for potty trained kids, sounds like a fab idea but really once their out of nappies it sux, I think woolies have it sused only making them to 2yrs. Gonna try making him footed PJ pants rather and see how that goes.

Chan- I hope they put the grommets in soon, C's ENT agreed to give it in 2 min of us walking in the room, he said once there's a middle ear inf and the child has constant runny noses the only way forward is the grommets, he said you have to fix the ears but also fix the nose or else it won't help so he's also looking to see if the adenoids are what is putting the pressure on the eustaction tube if so he'll take them out. I'm so sorry you guys are going through this tough time, C was exactly the same and to be honest that's what drove me to the PND so I really really feel for you and hope you all pull through this without too many battle wounds xxxxxx

Maryke- yippie for the house coming along! Can't wait to come and have coffee in the new place ;-)

Mandz- sorry you have been so sick and with Jordyn's teething too you must be exhausted! Alex is the same with the teething, playing up something terrible but no sign of the peraly whites at all. I'm expecting all 20 to just pop out in one go they way he's acting up.

Lizelle- love the painrting job on Kayden's room! My kids would love a mom like you! I haven't taken a single paintbrush to either of their rooms, they are the same 'rice paper' colour they were when we refurbed LOL

O.k mind blank and I have 2 moaning boys so will come back later

Xxxxxxxx

Oh yes

Chris, when you have time can you re post the birth details and I'll post it on pg1 in place of our very out dated popping list ;-)

Chan I really feel for you, I have never had such a bad night but I have also almost snapped so I feel you!

When he wakes up does he cry, and then how long does it take for him to go back to sleep, and how does he go back to sleep? Do you have to feed/cuddle etc?

If I could suggest, why dont you and hubby take the night in turns. One half is you and other is his. So maybe put Kade to sleep in his cot and the two of you go to bed together. First wake is yours and you go sleep with him in his bed(hoping you have another alternative LOL!) then at midnight hubby takes over. Sometimes us being close to them helps, I have been doing it with Jordyn. This way you both get sleep. And maybe he will be a little less restless with one of you close by. I know it isnt ideal but I am sure it can work. Also does it help to elevate his head, say a pillow?

I hope the grommets happen soon especially if you say they will help....
