Meags- You have amazing strength! I hope this time around its a walk in the path Just try relax, dont be so hard on yourself, and just try focus on bonding with bubs and BF- I remember what it was like and it can be very disheartening if things dont go according to plan. Let DH help with chores etc and give you more time to establish what means so much to you Pumping isnt easy either, wow i remember it being quite hard on the nipples- so if he can take to the BF that would be great.. Has he recovered fully from the op?

meags - msybe try put him on your boob about half an hour before a feed while he is awake and not crying to drink. if he buggers, just keep trying so that he can taste the milk and realise is still your milk. i am so proud of you for trying all this time. it is really hard having major engorgement. bbm me or just post back here as to how things go. thinking of you loads x

mandz - yes, my birthday is the 26th april and DH the 25th and our anniversay the 27th. we had the spitbraai today becasue my sis is down from NZ and craig's boet is here from zim, and because next weekend is easter. today was hectic. lots o fpeople. took ashley to the GP this morning. her ears and throat are fine.gonna put wee bag tomorrow and he can test her urine for UTI. will let you all know.

if anyone wants some lamb meat... plz come over and fetch some! there is much leftover.

suhaila - my birth experience with emily was not so great, but yes, in hindsight, the best thing to remember is the delivery of a healthy baby. i was so peeved that i was in labour for so long. but i think i interefered too much with my body and artificially indiced myself with the castor oil. but on the other hand, i was having contractions from xmas day and lost mucous plug from 36 weeks... so i dunno. either way, i had a great recovery.

Mandz I have not attempted BF again for about 2 weeks. He had his tongue tie snipped this wednesday past and we changed his bottles to a more BF friendly one...
I am busy healing my nipples to try BF next week.
I feel so nervous about it!! And I feel like I dont even know where to begin (although I've seen 3 lactation consultants already).

I really hope he takes the breast...even if it takes a couple of days of hard work. I cant keep up with the pumping. I have too much milk and night feeds and pumping are not working out for me to do alone

I agree with you, and will probably also go with elective- I am just glad I got to feel contractions etc first time around

I just really hope I can BF exclusively next time around.

What can I say Mandz and Yvette, regarding our birth stories - the best laid plans of mice and men and all that:) I plan to be open minded the next time round Mandz, with birth its not about the journey, just the destination of delivering a healthy baby I think I'll even have an elective c section.
