Jan/Feb 2011 Mommies (Nov & Dec 2010 early babes)

No sorry Mandz, i wish i were more closer to all you other moms - i get so jealous when the other mommies have a meeting. I'm more closer to CT, about 200km from it - Swellendam. So don't feel like your in the bundus - it's me that should feel like that.

But it's nice here. Only thing i don't like is everyone knowing everyone "we call it little town sindrome", cause you can't believe everything you hear by others (like stories) cause it's always or way wrong or the story's got a little tail on it - if you know what i mean. So i've learned not to mingle to much and "skinder" like all these others do and just keep my mouth shut. The less they know about me as well the better. Like it that way - not alwyas possible, but trying. I was born in Cape Town and lived there 21years - now here for the last 10years.
In CT you get lucky if you find one of your friends in a Mall, well here every 2nd car you drive pass, you wave.
What's nice is, you only live 5min from work, traffic in this town is like if you stand on a stop behind 3/5cars.
When i normally leave work i go pic up LO at daycare - i stop there 17:04 and talk get his stuff and if we need to get daddy at work in the other side of the town we stop there anything from 17:10-15.
Think i would die if i ever have to sit in JHB or CT traffic lol.

Hi Moomies

I have been reading just havent had time to respond, I have no idea why.... well thats a lie With my first month on Diane again, I have had the AF arrive after ....wait ...15 months!!!!!And I must say I have no idea why I was wondering about her return Because today I made an early trip to woolies for Chuckles...and that dull pain just explained it!!! so grumpy grumpy....

Other than that Jordyn has been good. He is enjoying his cereal still. I am just a little confused. I know the solids dont replace milk feeds. BUT I sometimes find he is down a bottle a day. I am concerned. I only mix like 1.5teaspoons of cereal with nan and feed him that. SO its not a hell of a lot. And I am only doing once a day. How do you find the balance? I am going on leave on fri for two weeks and would like to start the veg, should I do cereal for breakie and veg early afternoon? And should you do it between bottles or what? Also you do follow a feed with water always hey?

@ Suhaila-I am here How are you ? Feeling better I hope!!! I just got really excited to read, you are from Durban????Any other Durban moms??? I always read all the other moms getting together and thought I lived in the Bundus!

Carmen- hi nice to meet you, your lg is too gorgous

Chris- Jordyn does his bath, bottle bed at 6-ish. He baths, I feed him and he is alseep by 06.15 latest...It has gone so well, touch wood. I know it is early but its just a routine he chose since early on. He then only wakes at 02.30am for a feed and straight back to bed, or he even skips that and goes onto 5am

Chris i also want to get that living and loving so let us know when or if we've missed it already.

I don't realy have a time for Kayden when i put her down, she feeds every 4hours, but it change sometimes to 3/3½hours, so my times differ. Sometimes during the night she would maybe sleep an hour or 2 longer and the the times change as well. Hopefully that will change as soon as she goes over to the bottle.

She's sleeping now, maybe i should close my eyes for a while. Was tired yesterday and couldn't find the time to nap. So i'm ekstra tired today.

Suhaila - sorry to hear about your attack last night - hope you are better? shame man -I think you have to get pregnant again

Carmen - great to hear from you again!!! Your little one is so cute and she is growing nicely

Binks - I took Inge to Mulbarton because her Pead is there and I hoped that she was on duty. Got a call back from the head of Mulbarton and this dr never had a complaint etc and he couldn't find anything wrong with Inge etc etc. Next time (hopefully there will not be a next time - I will definately try Union)

Chris - Inge gets bathed at 18:00 and then a bottle after that of which she will normally drink 100-120mls. Then I will put her down and on a good night she will be fast asleep by 19:30 to wake again anything between 23:30 and 01:30. The last couple of nights however she is will take a bottle at 02:00 and then take a few sips at 03:00; 04:00; 05:00 and then sleeps till 07:00. Tonight she will get water in between feeds

MommyN - exciting times for you guys. I have been to Nigeria and Swaziland and I must say there is something about the "Real Africa" that facinates me

AFM - maternity leave is slowly coming to an end. Tomorrow this time my first day will be almost finished. At least I am only working for 7 days and then off again until the 3rd of May!!!! i feel ready to go back to work - I can just imagine all the millions of emails that I would have to go thru before I can start to work.

@Chris, have I missed the living and loving edition you and the trips are in? Aaqil has bf at 3, 6, 9, 12 etc. At 10.30 he gets the morning cereal and at 6.30 he gets the evening cereal. He sleeps at 7.30 and sleeps through his 9 feed. I change his diaper at 10/10.30 which half wakes him and give his last feed (both boobs). He either wakes once at 4 and thereafter at 8 in the morning or he sleeps through and wakes at 6 in the morning.

@Binks I take my hat off to you with 2 lil ones and those shifts!

AFM I'm recovering from last night. I'm a chronic asthmatic since I was 9 years old, and after a year of being attack free (pregnancy was the magic cure) I had a bronchial spasm attack last night, and ended up in westville hosp. Was up from 3 until 8 on the morning. My eyes are fighting the sandman yawn...
