Jan/Feb 2011 Mommies (Nov & Dec 2010 early babes)

Sorry I've been quiet.
typed a long post earlier on my phone and lost the whole thing!!
Mishka is keeping me so busy! I'm BFing exclusively and on demand and boy is she demanding- still every 2 hours during the day and sometimes a feed last an hour and half so the one leads into the other with a cluster feed fromm about 3 or until past 7 when she eventually goes to sleep. she also uses me as a dummy!
luckily last night after she went to sleep at about 7h30 her next feed was at 1h30 and then 3-4 and the 6am- previously her feeds were every 2 hours 24/7. To top it all she wants to be held all the time - can't put her down- she will sit quietly for a few minutes then the starts getting niggly and eventually cries and screams!!
Her weight gain started off slowly - 120gr second and third week, then 180 and 250 gr week5 and 1kg the last 3 weeks - she is now 2 months old her birth weight was 3270 she now weighs 4.670kg.

MommyN thinking of you guys.

Chris i feed her at bed time hoping she will fall asleep.

Suhaila as you know im a basic Paramedic, work 2day shift 2 night shift then im 4 days off. Work 7 to 7 if i dont get a late call. Have 2 girls i love to bits and would love to be a SAHM with out the kids.

Im so tierd of this breast feeding thing now Vanya so difficuly lately and i do nothing but fight with her now coz she does not want to do what i want her to do, at least hubby takes her when im not happy and gets her to sleep. She wants to eat all night long use me as a dummy and when i offer her a breast during the day she doesnt want it starts crying.

Suhalia, im a graphic designer, currently *trying* to work from home, really wish I could just be home and not have to worry about work, or at least worry about work for myself, not someone else.

Quick question, at what time do you give your babies tehir last feeds before putting them to sleep for the night?

Suhaila - would have loved to be a SAHM or even a half day work.
I'm our little Town (Swellendam's) Coöp and it's 3 branches Switchboard Operater (Sentraal Suid Koöperasie www.ssk.co.za). Got to know where every 400+ permanent workers (not to mention the casuals) work (wich department) and know their names and sometimes nicknames. So i'm on the phone the whole day (7:30 - 17:00) Phone going hectic. Got to send you girls a pic of my switchboard one day. Would've been nice to work only 2hours -lucky you.

Chris AFU - i'm doing ok - and so is Kayden, still just one feeding per day that she gets real crampy and so cries/screams when she struggels to latch and finish a feeding. The rest of the day is calm and easy. Then the best thing to do is get her to sleep.

Carmen are you and Mischka ok? How are you?

Suriya- hope Thasheya gets better soon. You must be happy for not having to work after hours anymore.

Chris and Suriya, I am trying to settle a 4 month old and a teething tantrum-throwing toddler, but I would STILL fall pregnant tomorrow if we/I could afford it!!!! Being an only child, the last thing I ever want is for my kids to be lonely - not for one day even! I really can understand it. I am so broody again!!!

Vix, can you believe I am saying that I am missing having a newborn???? Nathan really is not newborn anymore, and I miss it! I never thought I would feel like this!

Maybe just too much going on in my mind at the moment! And knowing I probably wont have more kids, I just miss it all already! But still have many milestones to get through with both Tweets!

MommyN - Work is fine. Just gets abit hectic at times. I am so happy that they did away with the after hours support. So at least I don't have to do work after hours as well.

Thanks I am very happy with Shrevash progress. It does get hectic at times, especially with Thashreya not feeling well. On Sunday while I was cooking both she and Shrevash wanted to be carried. I had to switch off the pots and sit with both of them for a while until DH came from the shops.

Thashreya scratched Shrevash on his eyebrow yesterday, it was bleeding alittle. I turn my back for a second and she tries to hurt him.

Glad that Nathan is growing nicely.

Chris - I am glad to hear that your babies are recovering. Its not nice when they are sick. Congrats on 16 weeks. Shrevash is 17 weeks today. On wednesday he will be 4 months old.

I know what you mean about being crazy. There are times when I also think about having another child. Then a minute later I think I am nuts.

Suhaila - I am a Analyst programmer. I work for an IT company in Woodmead. I wish I was a SAHM but DH can't afford to support us on his salary alone. So I have to work.
