Jan/Feb 2011 Mommies (Nov & Dec 2010 early babes)

Ok, looks like I may have 5 mins spare... just put Sarah down and I left Nathan to go to get a drink and he is almost asleep! Yay! The last 3 days he has not slept at all during the day, I try feed him until he falls asleep, I try rock him, sometimes he falls asleep if I do housework with him in the wrap, but as I put him down, wide awake! Urgh! But he is sleeping well at night!

Lizzy, congrats again! So glad you made contact with us again!

Nathan awake.... so he is on my lap now. Nice breeze here at laptop. Mommy = dummy!

Vix, C will soon be Mommy's boy again.Am sure he is loving school and playing, making friends and learning. How is the potty training and bottle going? How are you feeling today, and how is A and J? I hope their little noses are clearing up! Vix, I give Sarah Creche uard from time to time as a multivit, I like it because it also has an "ant-worm" thing for those nasty worms in the sand! I have stopped the vits with both kids for now, Sarah is on something for her ears and pain, so just too much. And Nathan is still suffering with cramps - so seeing if it helps with no cramps - vidalyn def gave Sarah cramps. I am just giving them both iron but I know they should be getting vit c to help with the iron - so I'll start vits again soon. Its such a toss up to what to give and how much.

Chris, I would also freak at the night nurse. Totally agree, your rules! You aredoing really well. Is this still the same nurse who was nodding off at night? Good help is hard to find! Soon they will be sleeping through or at least waking less and then you can cope with a night nurse. Their weights are picking up nicely! Hope you get the formula right and then it will also be easier on you all.

How do you hide text? I am in the same boat most of the time and it always seems worse in the middle of the night!

Miksmom - hope you are able to sort the constipation out. The sugar should help. But you may have to give something else and wean him off - just my opinion - we still have sloppy poohs thanks to BF, I dont know which is worse! Nathan even pushes for those! Hope work goes better for you and you arent too stressed!

Twinbee - Gemma and Jamie are beautiful! I love the names! THey look very happy together!

Mina - lovely pic of you and Bernice. Power failures are the worst - not looking forward to winter!

I must still do the list of moms and birth dates... sorry! I started but must just get it all checked out and finished!

AFM, well, I want a t-shirt printed out that reads... "Dont feel sorry for me, I so totally blessed". At last a lady came up to me today and all she said was "what a lovely little girl, and wow, you are so lucky to have a little boy too!" THank you! I bought some reins and now we'll see the reactions. BTW I thought I would NEVER allow the use of reins, but now I see the necessity, either them or a child running wid in a car park - not a good idea!

Went to Woolies sale, I was kind of disappointed. Nothing for babies, nothing for small boys. Plenty for bigger girls. But I got Sarah some summer pjs for next summer. The walkmates were nicely priced down, but I didnt take any. The sale last year was better, but I am sure they put new stuff out all the time. I got tons for Missy for this winter. Saw a lady there and she had this super duper protection thing over pram etc and her toddler girl wasnt allowed to touch anything, I'm not knocking her way or anything, but she was shocked to see Nathan in the baby chair on trolley (something I also never wanted to use with Sarah, but now dont have a choice) and then later I saw she is actually pregnant - I wonder how she is going to cope in 6 months with 2 kids! Hope I bump into her in Woolies at the next sale LOL.

Sarah is learning all the words with "f" - phone, fridge, falling (anything that messes she says falling to) but sometimes it sounds like f&*£... and we really dont use that word too much. Its cute in a way, but I really have to watch my language now! I sighed in Woolies and said to Missy, "theres not much here is there?" and she sighed a big sigh and then said "so much"!!! She really is at a lovely age!

Except she bit me this afternoon when I couldnt pick her up, and when I said no stearnly she took Nathan's foot and bit it too! Urgh! I am tempted to bite her back, but will just keep saying no for now. She was tired, but I dont think thats an excuse.

Yvette - how is Emily doing?

Chan - Hope Kade is getting better. Hows the new house?
Suriya - the little ones are cute! Hope you are settling back into work nicely. You are lucky to have your mom to help you!

Ster - hope you are coping with DH being away so much! Not easy I know. My hubby oes away next week. But I plan lots of things to do to make it fn for me - and I get his car with unlimited fuel AND AIRCON!!! My way of making the most of things.

Maryke, will be thinking of you and A & L on saturday! One step closer to that wonderful bath! You'll have to make a big celebration out of that first bath, like a party! Will be nice to see you one saturday. How is it going with Francis-Jane? Are you back at work now?

Oh,finaally got my dishwasher fixed today. Found an excellent repair man! He is going to get quotes to repair the washing machine too - it doesnt always drain and then you have to empty it manually and restart the cycle. At least both items are repairable and reletively cheaply, thank goodness!

Any of the Jhb mommies want to come out to Pretoria on monday for coffee? Sterretjie - I promised I'd come and visit you - just havent had a chance yet! I will!!!

Miksmom, you can give him sugar water (brown sugar) about a level teaspoon to 20ml or you can add it in his milk, it works, I had to do it for Athena, so once a day we give her the olive oil, but her tummy is loads better since we are giving her the other formula too. Is it the soya or the lactose he cant handle?

Twinbee, your girls are so cute! Special bond!

miksmommy - Thashreya's paed told us to use Laxette (not sure of spelling) when she was constipated. We have also used brown sugar in some water.

hahaha Vix @ I completely forgot that I got my BFP before you! But it makes sense cause my EDD was Dec and yours Jan...

Anyway... sorry I can't do personals today, problems and more problems at work. I have a question though! And I know this has been discussed before but what can I use for constipation? W struggles terribly. Ive tried putting olive oil in his milk but it doesnt really help. He poo's once a day but its always a huge drama. His little face goes purple from trying to get one little poo out! I can't change his milk cause he is allergic. Most baby formulas contain soya which he is very allergic too, so we use NAN HA. Any advice? I'm desperate!! I completely forgot to ask the dr grrrr...
