I am still just waiting! And this baby is just getting bigger and bigger every day! I have a gynea appointment tomorrow so hopefully something exciting will happen then- or possibly even before!

Karien, you are so right about bf! Yes, it is probably best - health wise - but something else to consider, is the mothers mental health! Happy bf mommy, happy bf baby. And vice versa. My eldest I bf till 5 mnths, was pregnant again. Only bf my 2nd till 6w. I just couldn't get it right. So I stopped! And it was so much better.
Yes, I am a bf loving mommy. But every mom has the right to her own happiness and comfort. And if that means no bf, what gives anyone the right to critisise?
So MsDee, if you want to continue, get help as K said. And if not, don't feel guilty about stopping!

Dh is going to phone a friend who was a nurse (midwife), and ask her to come have a look at my wound. Maybe come 'care' for it once a day or so.

You're right, Esmari. It is dead quiet on here.

Hope your stitches heal soon. I didn't have any stitches and forgot to ask the dr about it when I saw him last week. I guess my wound was glued - I think they can do that.

MsDee, if you really want to breastfeed you can contact the La Leche League SA. They give free breastfeeding advice and will tell you how best to deal with your situation. But I you don't want to, don't feel guilty. I belong to a few breastfeeding groups because they give very good and interesting advice. But I'm really getting tired of all these woman who treat breastfeeding like it's a right you have to fight for and who act as if the whole world is out to get them to stop them breastfeeding.

Laurakim,how's Jack doing? Still feeding so often?

We are doing well. Keagan isn't picking up enough weight so I'm back to waking him to feed every 3 hours (except at night). Really hope he picks up more now. He picked up 500g in the first 2 weeks and then 400g in the next 4 weeks. But the sister said I shouldn't worry and should only wiegh him again at 12 weeks.

He's started smiling and 'talking', which is great! But I have to admit that the daily routine is getting to me a bit. Feed, nappy change, play, sleep x4, just getting a bit much at times. Luckily it's weekend and I'll have some alone time - going shopping because I have almost no clothes that fit me.

@Laurakim, unfortunately it looks like i may have to stop breastfeeding altogether, so the pump may never be used...

@TaNasha, any news? What did your midwife say?

@Kanyo, do you mean you're walking around the house or have you started walking as a form of exercise? Only been to the gym once since Ayanda's been born, and i only just walked on the treadmill. nothing hectic.

@Thamu, Ayanda is almost two months old and i still refuse to let anyone give him a pacifier. No specific reason, i just don't see the need yet, as he doesn't cry unless he's hungry or need changing.

@Esmari, I hope your stiches heal well. How are you feeling today? I also get emotional at times. I've now learned that sometimes it's because i'm just tired. Last time i felt very low i drove to my mom's and let her watch him while i napped(Don't trust the nanny yet)

AFM; Ayanda just doesn't seem to ever get full on breast milk alone. No matter how full they are, within 5 minutes of feeding they go soft and he starts getting irritated. Last time i went to the doctor, he said i must just stop as the whole thing has just resulted in frustration for me and him. My milk seems to be drying up pretty fast as they never even ache anymore no matter how long i go without BF.

I'm just BF out of guilt now which is odd cause i'm one of those people who believe on a mother's choice to BF or not.

Laurakim, I was thinking about using mechurocrome. Think I will do that. My ob also said to use bactroban.

Guess now that we all had our babies this place is a graveyard!

Esmari - my cut this time also looked a little worse than my others but it has healed fine now!!

We were told to clean with mechurocrome daily. It does get easier once the stitches are you.

I was also super emotional but on and off - some days were really bad and others I was fine. It does seem to have passed now though.

Jack lost 400g at discharge but had picked it all back up by week 2.
