So I spent the morning in the maternity ward - I have a UTI.

My cervix is open and I am 1cm dialted but Dr sent me home - said he will see me at my app on Monday!

Very down to be honest

Solo that isnt normal unless baba was taken to ICU.

With both caesars - I saw my babies, then they took them and stitched me up but I saw them again once I was back in the ward!

Tissue time ladies!! To quote Weeskind "The moment I saw her for the first time I cried my eyes out. She was the most amazing human being I ever saw. I totally fell in love with her"

Leani is being bathed, they should take Leani to be with mom as soon as they are done.

Weeskind is a mommy!!! Leani was born at 10:57 and weighs 3.2kg. Weeskind held her for a few mins after the birth but has not seen her since. How horrible for everyone. Is this standard for a csec?

Esmari, my heart is set on a csec because I have SUCH a fear of natural birth. (Thanks Karienh for the info!) I am waiting for the gynae's final decision regarding the birth. Then I will be able to say to BF "Gynae said I have to have a Csec" If I just tell BF that I WANT a csec because I am scared, he will never understand. So we shall see... But if Gynae says I CAN go natural then I will do it...with the help of a treble dose of pethidine, gas and air and an epidural!! The thought of experiencing so much pain that it makes women scream totally freaks me out. But maybe if I have enough Pethidine before the epidural.... LOL Again BF amazed me last night. He is now talking about a vasectomy, but he insists that they will have to give him a general anaesthetic because the thought of the "snip snip" on his precious parts terrifies him... I bit back my retort about "what about me and natural birth? hmmm???" At least they get a local for the snip snip. We women get nothing while we split and tear or are cut from hole to hole. No yikes, it's barbaric!!!!!
I'm not feeling any pressure "down there" yet, I suppose I am lucky with that so far. I still have a lot of pressure under my ribs. I can't sit tall enough too make enough room.

Esmari get yourself some VitaThion. It really helped me with my low energy and lethargy earlier on in my pregnancy.

TaNasha, I hope you are feeling better. If your midwife wants you to take it easy then you must. I do soooo understand about work. It's not easy, but you need to think of your baby.

I'm confused as to what to take for baby to hospital. I think I will need to call the hospital and find out from them. I'm be delivering in a Netcare hospital and I really don't want to take more than necessary to the hospital with me. Yesterday I was told at the baby shower to take six or seven changes of clothing for baby... And then some of you got given a bag full of goodies. It would save so much space if the hospital provided everything for the baby.

Those Woolies socks are cute aren't they Karienh? I have now been given four pairs... My mom's dog even fancied chewing on a pair last night as I was unpacking my pressies to show my mom. The dog just wanted to sink his teeth into the little ears and paws!!! Apparantly these socks are great because they don't slip off and they are entertaining to LO once they start seeing and reaching for their feet!

MandyMel, why do gynaes do that to us! I don't blame you for worrying about someone else delivering your baby.

Solo, nothing meant by this, but are your mind set on csection? Just asking, you and bf should talk this out beforehand. So that he knows how you feel.
With baby head down you will probably start to feel some pressure down there.

Tanasha, bugger your damn boss! You and your baby are much more important at this stage! A uti can also cause the hardness in your tummy. Look after yourself friend!

BettyF, that is the one thing I am not looking forward to. My mom will be here for 2 weeks or so when Gerhardt is born, but after that I have to get his brother to school. Its just around the corner from us, so I can walk and get much needed exercise, but its going to be so cold to take baby out of the house. Hopefully by then dh job will keep him at the George office, and not at the Knysna one. So then he can do the school run.

By now Weeskind is probably a mommy! Cant wait to see pics of the little one.

Afm.: I am so freaking tired today. Actually every flippen day these last couple of weeks. Maybe I should get a pregnancy shake to add to my vitamins.
Cleaned the house a bit this morning, but now my back hurts. Mopping the floors has become so difficult with this big tummy. Wish I could get lucky with a maid. But ja, after so many times it looks like that is not meant to be. Wonder how my house will look once baba is here......... Left the kitchen floor hoping dh will wash that for me tonight.
And I still have to go finish my shopping today. Only had R1000 yesterday, so just did the specials at the pnp relaunch. Got some nice ones - The same stuff that is on special at the big pnp, is there for R1 or so cheaper. Man I love saving money.

Ok, this is becoming an sa! Sorry! Going to go make some tea now and just relax a bit and watch Masterchef Australia on Mnet.

Oh, and my baby poncho I won on here is at the post office. dh picking it up when he comes home for lunch.

Hi Ladies..

WOW - seems like we went from experiencing a drought to having a sudden flood of ladies having their babies Exciting! My prayers are with all of you at this time, especially weeskind...

@karienH- it depends what type of hospital you delivering in if you will need to pack nappies - if it's private or a medi-clinic they issue you with a diaper bag FULL of all the toiletries you will require for your baby...mine lasted quite sum time...i remember last yr with my son i got huggies nappies, bennets bum creme, lots of johnson&johnson products,surgical spirits,etc..was very useful..

@laurakim- i read your blog as well, brightened up my sour mood yesterday...though i totally understand your frustration...and i agree with you, i kinda think my gynae's office could have informed us beforehand that their tariffs had increased by so much and thefore we would need to cover the shortfall of the delivery fee...that way we could have paid the money off in installments...now we have 2 weeks to make the money magically appear out of somewhere as it needs to be paid by 34 weeks...but ya i'm not gonna stress about that!

Oh, and I also found out yesterday my gonna will be on leave for 2 weeks...when im 37 and 38 weeks...im just a bit worried as i had my 1st born at 38 weeks and 4 days last yr...does that mean it might be this same with this one? I'll be so disappointed if my gynae won't be able to deliver my baby...i really don't want some stranger working "down their" that i'm not familiar with

Anyways...waiting patiently for the new arrivals...hope everything goes well!
