Kariehn, congratulations! Your simple msg made me wanna cry & long to hold mine. This estimated v actual weight differences are scary. I mean 700g is a lot! I bet it's gonna be a wonderful weekend for you:)

TaNasha I have a diaper champ. I saw my sisters use them with my nephews & to me it's a must have.

Solo LOL about the pee. First time I hear of it.
Betty_f a new mom support group sounds like a good idea.

i'm really worried about my mood. Just came back from the shops. Even bought a teddy bear cause I just feel like holding my child it's starting to depress me now. At least now i'm playing with my 7month old nephew. I feel a bit better than I did this morning.
Well the day is still long....

TaNasha I'm not going to bother with a Diaper Champ or similar as those experienced moms here pointed out to me - once a poo nappy goes in...NOTHING keeps the smell at bay! So I'm just going to use a separate bin and empty promptly. Not sure about middle of the nights tho.... !!! I think I'm going to see how things go and modify what works for me as I go along.

Talking about daily baths. I give an older lady a lift to and from work everyday. This morning we were discussing topping and tailing as opposed to daily bathing. Then she tried to convince me that wiping baby's face with first wee nappy of the day helps to make their skin beautiful. Yes I know the uric acid/urea in pee is meant to be good for skin, but I just wanted to stop the car and hurl!! "Not to worry my precious baby, I won't be rubbing your wee nappy on your face every morning!!" Some of the old wives tales that she comes up with make me want to laugh, but I keep a straight face so as not to offend her.

Oh btw Esmari my little boy is going to be called Joshua. So you can add that to the list. Still deciding on second name, but Joshua is definitely the first name.

What is diaper champ?
The hospital told me to bath baby everyday. But some cold days I just top and tail.

Went to a mommy support group at the clinic this morning. Was nice to meet some new mommies.

No plans for the weekend. Just relaxing with the family

Hi every one, I'm a mommy to the most perfect little boy he weighs 3.3 (not even close to 4) and was born at 8:40. I'm doing well, no pain yet and super relaxed because I'm still on drugs.
I'm so happy and just want to hold him and look at him.

so what are the plans for the weekend?

I am so happy its Friday and its payday!

We will go shopping for the last few bits we need for the baby. Does anyone have a DiaperChamp? I am thinking about getting one but DH seems to think it is a waste of money?

I also want to get my outfits planned for labour and the hospital stay and then a few things when people come to visit once baby has been born.

And also how often should you bath a baby? I read somewhere that bathing too often is bad for their skin?
