Betty already packing your hospital bags, it is getting very close now!

AFM since this baby might make an appearance sooner than expected DH has been working hard on the nursery. I think we have most things done. I just need to do the curtains and DH is fixing up an old family rockingchair and he will be making one of those sitbench thingys by the window. I think we also have enough clothes. All we need are the small bits like nappies, wipes, shampoo ect but Im expecting to get all that at my babyshower.

Here are some photos of the nursery- the latest one was taken last night, but the light is bad, so there is another one from a few weeks ago. Also a photo of her closet, I hope I have enough clothes? Its all size 0-3 months and some 3-6 months. ]

The linen savers are to "protect" the sheets in the hospital! I used mine a bit at home aswell!

They come in handy when you are potty training at night as well

Hi everyone- lots of chatting yesterday

MsDee- I am hoping to still work until the 26th, wanted to get some of the April public holidays as paid!

Esamari- the cot sounds so Devine, and really special, how lovely that you still have it. I also just had to get a new mattress.

Rakker- looks like you will be first! Yay, are you hoping to go into labour before the 20th? I can't believe that in a week the first baby in this thread will be born!

I also never knew about linen savers, I saw them at the shop the other day. I read somewhere that you may want to put it on your bed during the last weeks, in case your water breaks while you are sleeping, then your mattress is at least protected. With M my waters did break while I was sleeping, but started off as a trickle, and I woke up immediately, so really there was no mess on the bed. But by the time I got to the hospital- my pants were drenched.
The hospital I am going to provides the linen savers. So I don't think I will get any.

Re: the washing of the clothing- I have not washed any of the new stuff that I have bought. I know they say that you should, but I never did with M either. All the washing I have been doing has been M's old clothing and old clothing that I have been given. I really think I am all washed out now. This weekend I want to wash the pram and car seat covers. Was thinking of getting new covers for the car seat. Does anyone know where I could get tis made?

Karien- the pj's should be loose fitting with button down tops so that it is easy to BF. I never got any blood on mine last time, but I guess there is always a chance.

Thamu - some places pay you for 3 months, it just depends on the office policy. By law they don't have to pay you anything. They have to keep your job for 4 months, during the 4 months you collect a portion of your salary from the UIF (if one qualifies).

AFM- I must finish off my hospital bags soon. Got some feeding bras, and comfy pj type pants yesterday- which could double up as track suit
pants I guess. I also got some of those bed socks with the pads at the bottom.
So exciting getting the final goodies together knowing that soon, soon baby will be here in my armsxx

havent been able to be here but have read and read and how comforting to read and learn. Had wanted to ask about Linen savers and its been answered. Havent done my shopping yet and am dreading that part as i still have to be sure what sex baby is argh i cant wait though. @ Esmari i wish i could get th kind of bargains otherwise we will break the bank.

Lucky you Tshepymo1, i wish i could just stay but sometimes i actually enjoy at work and literally forget am pregnat especially when i dont have to travel and am just stationed on my desk. I hope i feel like this till birth. What does the law say about Maternity is the three months supposed to be paid.


I went to the dentist today and had my tooth was filled temporarily as Dentist didnt want to take any chances and i also didnt want to take chances and have infection before birth. Soo temporary filling was easy and simple but feeling wierd in my mouth the dentistry taste.

Tomorrow am meeting Mid-WIfe and discuss the VBAC route, can we please have the thread. Will update on what she says and the route she proposes.
