I'm having one of those very hungry days, I've eaten cereal, a banana and some grapes, and now I've just finished my lunch cause I was still starving. But otherwise all is well.

CandiBez, I also feel odd when people want to touch my tummy, cause the baby is so tiny, they're literally rubbing the upper layer of fat on my tummy, but I let them do it, it seems to make them happy, lol.

Regarding medical aid, I'm with discovery, on a savings plan.
Gabi, have you received the document of what they cover with the Prescribed Minimum Benefits? They emailed it to me when I pre-authorised my birth.
Thankfully, all my visits are with a midwife, except for my 3 important scans, which are with the gynae.

Also, I'd just like to mention, Dischem has a Moms and Tots programme and you get a baby bag sent to you in the 3rd trimester and discount on Baby products every alternate Wednesday and access to their online competitions

Hi girls!!

Quickly popping in to say again before the weekend!

Naz it's my first. I completely agree with Skai - every woman is different and when I first felt the bubbles/butterflies I thought nah it's too soon but it was there on Wednesday night and there again last night. Saw that you can feel life anywhere from 16 w - 20 w, it differs from person to person! That's what makes pregnancy so wonderful and sharing all these experiences with you girls!!

Skai - I don't feel it all through the day. It's only when I lie on the couch now in front of the television I can feel this little flutters and bubbbles. Last night baba was alot quieter than Wednesday!

Hapi - I don't think it's too early at all for you to feel movement! You've got twins as well so surely that may have been movement! My mom told me now the worrying starts lol. She said your going to feel movement today and tomorrow nothing and then you worry because you don''t feel anything!! Motherhood definitely starts for us the day we fall pregnant hey!

Candi - sorry to hear about your cousin! Hope he gets better soon.

AFM: Feeling very hungry today for some reason. Just had some two minute noodles to just ease the hunger already lol. Skai I didn't pick up any weight in my first trimester and actually lost about 2kg. BUT, needless to say, in the last two weeks I picked it up. From 14 weeks to now I picked up 2kg's. I also feel large and fat and although my tummy is starting to show (people at work notices now), still don't really look pregnant to myself. It's amazing though that my stomach just popped over the past week and it's only going to grow from here! Can't wait! Another month and I'm half way whoohoo

Going to the home makers expo this weekend at the Dome, saw there's a few baby places that's exhibiters there so want to go have a look. We've decided on a sleigh cot and compactum and from babyfurniture direct - went to their showroom about 3 weeks ago to go have a look. We're ordering ours next weekend from then and then it takes 8-10weeks for delivery. Whoohoo. And I actually think it's not that bad - it's R5 850 for both sleigh cot with movable base and large sleigh compactum plus a breathe eazy matress.

Yeah Yeah Yeah! I got my name back. LOL

Skai, I can agree with you, but I have issues too. I lost some weight before falling preggies, but my self esteem didn't loose weight yet. Now my BIL wants to rub my tummy to say 'hi' to Peaches, and I'm freaking out, cause I ain't showing yet, and it's still flabber. I know I must annoy people, but I know i've got my little one growing fast, just wish I was showing, but my size, I have to wait a little longer, cause you won't see anything yet, I still look big n round like before. maybe i'm just a tad crazy?

Hay Naz! Thanks for the well wishes. My cousin is on life support and hopefully will be coming out of a coma soon. I can only prayer.

Tracey, You're gonna love Peek-a-babe. Mel is awesome, she's a super friend of mine! Another friend of mine went to her doc and they couldn't see anything, I told her about Peek-a-babe, the next day she had an appointment and saw she was also having a little girl too

Annika, I hope you find out soon about your little one

GABS! Hay there sister How's that scan! Awesome feeling! So glad you got to see little one 5cm whoop whoop

As for medical aids, mine [liberty] will only pay 100% medical aid rates for 2 scans per pregnancy. Which ain't alot, my previous gynea was charging something like 300% a rip off.

Ok, so i'm sitting here now typing to you and i'm getting that weird electricity popping feeling on a spot on my tummy... Hmmm, maybe that's just hunger?

Anywhoooooo. I did my first baby purchase yesterday... I got a baby monitor. Next up, all the smelly stuff tee hee

Hi Naz...been a while, nice to see you here

I know most people only feel baby from around 18-20 weeks but just have to say a friend of mine was able to feel hers from around 15/16 weeks (and the butterflies from 14 weeks) And I could even feel him/her kicking a couple of weeks ago when she was about 18 weeks - was so cool! Her midwife didn't believe that her husband could already feel the kicks....ha ha...

Will be interesting to see how we all differ through our pregnancies.

And just out of interest, have you guys put on weight yet? I've put on about 2kg. Feeling like it's more though! I always used to get irritated by women who complained about feeling fat when pregnant. I mean hello! You're carrying a little person, of course you are going to put on weight! But at the stage I'm at, I feel that I am just looking chubby as opposed to pregnant. Is rather frustrating....I just want a proper bump!

Candi - good for you that you have changed gynae's - you have to be comfortable and I think it's ok to change no matter which stage of pregnancy you are - and at least you get to stay at a hospital u know and feel comfortable with. Sorry to hear about your family member not being well - I hope he/she is a bit better today.

Joey - welcome to "our" thread we look forward to sharing our journey with you.

Tracey - pity about the bad pics. I am sure that you will get much better one's from Peek a babe. Your doc should have been a bit more patient/considerate though? don't be scared to ask next time

laliek - wow movement already! how exciting, I can't wait for that! Is this your first? I know with first babies you only feel after 18 wks. With my first I felt at 21 wks and my 2nd 20 wks so i hope no 3 is a bit more active so that I can feel him/her sooner!

No news on my side - just over 12 wks now and my symptoms are still the same: Tired/hungry/swollen feet - thank goodness for no nausea! My next checkup/scan will be on 7 March - I can't wait!

To all the other ladies, skai, hapi, ankia, annika and everyone else I forgot to mention - i hope you are doing ok.

Gabi, yes it is a new thing from Discovery this year
you have to see a midwife or gp, and then they will pay
but if it is not high risk, they will not pay for Gynie from the PMB
