Advice re amniocentesis

Hey Solo - I am so glad everything is good and you can finally let out that breath of air you have been holding in. I really am thrilled.

I might have missed a vital piece of information, but would you mind posting why you needed an amnio, you might have mentioned it before, but I was not sure. I hope you do not mind me asking ....

Hi Solo - I am really happy for you that everything is perfect - that is absolutely awesome.

On your very first post you said that the doctor said the only thing worse than waiting for the results is to have an abnormal baby. I had my amnio done in December 2009 and had to wait three weeks - pure hell. I know many, if not all woman fear having an abnormal child, hell I even did, but I must just say my little boy was born in April 2010 and has full trisomy 18 and he does have some abnormalites, but he is the most beautiful and gorgeous little boy and is such a blessing and has brought so much meaning into our lives. Please dont get me wrong, it is definately not easy, especially emotionally. I know many people wouldnt even consider going through what we have, but coming from a mother with a special needs baby I just need to voice my opionion that what the doctors said - was soooooo wrong (my opinion). Having an "abnormal baby" has put life into so much perspective for us and that is definately not a bad thing.
