Hi ladies sorry i have not come on and said hello.

I have not had time to read all the post. just thought i woud give you my birth story.

On monday i went in to work say there for a few hours decide i was tired and bord. Got home started watching Marley and Me. as marely was getting sick, i had pain. sms Mark saying i think its time. 16.50 ran myself a bath. Had another contration in the bath but i was not bad. Mark got home and i was still not sure i was in labour cos my contration where not showing a patten. i was having them any where between 3 and 15mins apart. At about 6 Mark said lets just go to the hospital to see.

They did an internal and i was already 5cm dilated and 7 when i had a contration.
Asked for the epideral the doctor took for ever to get there. He got the at 8.30pm and my doctor got there at 9 and i was push Riley out by 9.10.

Then things went wrong. I pushed for about 5 mins and Rileys heart stopped. We could not find it for about 5 mins when they found it, it was very very slow below 70bpm. My doctor decide that the cant risk pushing any more so prepered me for thearte. When in Just before 10.30pm and Riley was born at 22.30 With his cord Wrapped around his neck twice. So good thing we did not try push again. But he came out very healthy he scored 9/10 and the 10/10. Weighing 3.85kg and 58cm long have no idea where he gets his heigh from.

Love this little guy so so much.

I used a Avent manual pump for both my babies and it worked very well for me.
But the creme de la creme of breast pumps is said to be Medela.....

Lindy, you're too much like me. I get ants in my pants like crazy. Even if I'm not physically busy.....mentally my mind is churning unless I sleep which I don't usually do coz I got so much to do and plan....

Sjoe, yesterday was hard on me. I was just feeling soooooo down. I stayed in bed from midday and only got up this morning....am still feeling overcast today.

Was reading all the posts and just didn't feel like writing anything today. Then..........

I got my office 'stock party'
There were no balloons, no streamers but I got presents for the baby.
It was exactly....to the T, the list of things I had proposed they get me.....

You got to love working with men....LOL

My weekend was so so busy shoe you would think that when hubby is away I can relax but I was 10 times bussier than on a normal weekend.

Chanz thanks for the update, you ladies truly are my inspiration to go natural. May I ask what breast pump you are using? My sister in law gave me her pump a (Madela mini electric) but I am so nervous to use it cause she last used it two years ago and I'm not sure how to sterilize and clean it. I am meeting with somebody that works for Lansinoh today after my doctors appointment to maybe look at buying one of those. en 20ml Well done girl!!!

Oh my gosh Tanz I also have "n breuk" and let me tell u I know it is sore!! It has been burning since a bout 18 weeks and some days are better than others but the days that are bad are really bad aspecially if baby does any movements in that area. Weekend ended better than it started... I was feeling ok yesterday - not too much BH's - Edrich was busy, but I survived! My back is just killing me still.

DH told me last night when he came home that he is finished for this year at Shumba's... The next weekend is in November and he will not be there, because of the baby. I was all smiles!!

This morning the baby is pushing on my bladder, that is very painfull!! But I will try to bear the pain!

Tanz - Ek het jou geadd op FB. Ek kan nie dink dat ons tyd so naby is nie! Daar is net bietjie meer as 3 weke oor vir my... As alles volgens plan verloop!! LOL Ek het ook nog 'n hele paar goedjies nodig, sal maar bietjie gaan "window" shopping doen vandag - sodat ek die pryse kan vergelyk en besluit wat ek waar gaan koop! Jy moet maar jou dr vra om jou af te boek! Ek het destyds met Luwan - 'n week voor sy geboorte afgeboek, want ek wou ook nie my verlof gebruik het nie!

Baba se kleertjies is darem uitgespoel! Ek moet dit net biet stryf en opvou en dan in sy sak pak vir die hospitaal!!

Skitter - Baie geluk met Liam se geboorte, hy is regtig pragtig! Ek hou van jou geboorte storie, jy laat dit so maklik klink!

Chanz - YAY vir die 20ml!! Hoop dit gaan elke dag net beter!!

So this weekend we went from baby shop to baby shop budgeting... So next week when DH gets paid we have to go out and buy the stuff we still need for baba. This is starting to scare me! Dit voel of die tyd my inhaal! I don't know how we got here so fast and it feels like there is still so much to do before our little monkey is born!

Elrike - Ek hoop jou naweek het beter geëindig as wat dit begin het?? As ek jy was, het ek net geweier! Hy kan regtig maar probeer verstaan dat jy baie "fragile" is op die stadium!

I am going to see the doctor again next week Tuesday, and then every week from then on! So exciting... I am really hoping that she will book me off or something next week. The round ligament on my left side has a "breuk" (don't know what it is in english, I think its hernia??). So it has been sensitive since the beginning. But in the last few weeks it's really been bothering me! I mentioned it to her, and she gave me Tramacet. It works occasionally... But I am gatvol of working, and I don't want to use my maternity leave now, because then I won't have enough time with the baby.


Anyway - antenatal class again today, and tonight she is talking about the baby. Not sure what that means but I guess we'll see!

Thanks ladies for the breastfeeding support. @ Claire, I express with an electric pump at home and at hospital I use their manual pump. Um I don't think expressing by hand could closely immitate baba's sucking, but its worth a try thanks.

@Lindy - You won't believe how well I am healing. I really am surprised. You would never say I gave birth 2 weeks ago LOL but even though I wanted to drive, my hubby wont let me drive until my 6 week check up. A natural birth really is awesome and if you can cope without meds then thats great but if you need meds then thats ok. I had no meds but my little man gave me no time for anything lol eager nunu. I think if my active phase carried on for hours I would have asked for an epi LOL. But glad it went the way it did. COz had I gone for a csec then I would not have been able to see Michael until the next day. So things do happen for a reason.

Shame Elrike- ek kan verstaan hoe jy voel. Dis nou nie dieselfde nie, maar 'n rukkie terug het my man elke oggend so 3am werk toe gegaan (hy hardloop sy gaste huis), en ek was baie ongelukkig daaroor. Want nr 1 skelms kan in breek, nr2 ons het 'n "greenbelt" agter ons huis, en 3 as iets met my gebeur is daar niemand om te bel. As jy swanger is, is dit 'n worry. So jy het elke reg om paniekerig te voel. En miskien moet jy bietjie met jou man gesels. Want eintlik kan jou stres jou kraam aanbring en dit moet hy verstaan. Shame en jy is nie 'n puppy wat rond geskyk kan word nie, jy is 'n swanger vrou met 'n toddler. Ek hoop jou man maak sy oe oop, shame.

Thanks Deja for that article. Makes sense. I was actually thinking last night, I was very proud lol coz on Friday I expressed 5ml lol and last nite 20ml whoo hoo and then I changed Michaels nappy after expressing and then he wanted boob again. Now some ladies would think their milk isnt sufficient but when breastfeeding, babies feed often. Its a comfort thing too I think. So I definitely agree with demand feeding. Btw thanks so much for my parcel I don't know who was more excited, me or hubby lol
