Hello Mommies
How is everyone?
Lindy- about the earings, its a hard decision. I personally would prefer piercing under a yr because I feel they are alot easier to clean etc and also to do the piercing itself. Although hubby and I don't agree, he feels when she is a teen she can do it

being a girl I don't agree. I remember people teasing girls with no earings LOL. But I agree with Elrike, baby girls look so cute with their earings in. And if you do it early and later they don't like then they can take it out.
Deja- saw some of the pics from your holiday, lovely and you looking great. The sand did look hot though lol. And your kids are so cute

So sorry to hear about Sion. The head is the worse place to see a drip but I think it looks more painful to us. When M was in hospital they struggled to get the IV in and when they did it kept infiltrating. They would take him away to do the drips coz he would scream blue murder. After seeing the marks on his legs, I will never allow them to take him out my sight again. They always needed two nurses to hold him down

I am glad you only had to spend a night with Sion in hospital. Its the worst place to be. They recover better at home shame.
Liz-glad I could help

and you are welcome to pop me messages anytime even if its at midnight
Lindy- its quite sad that baby products contain hidden items. Unfortunately we just have to study food labels nowadays. I won't lie, besides saving when making your own food its so much more healthier for them. I have to date cooked 3 times for Michael and he has been on solids for 2 and a half months now. And the transition is so much easier to the family meals. Its advisable to introduce the different colour veggies in stages. And starting yellow veggies is ideal. Every mom will differ but at the end of the day you gotta use what you read as a guideline and just follow your mommy instincts too. I started M on fruit at lunchtime once he was on cereal at night and morning. I then started reducing the night cereal and adding fruit until he ate only fruit at night then I started introducing veggies at lunch time. For allergy reasons they advise giving 3-4 days per veggie to rule out allergies. And whenever trying new foods, do it before 4pm so that if your child has a reaction then you can at least see it. So it doesn't happen while they sleeping and you don't see it. I personally only use Woolies fruits and veg for Michaels purees. I did try fruit and veg once and was really dissapointed. And Woolies fruit & veg really isn't so expensive. I buy two packs of 1kg apples and it makes enough puree for a month for M. Maybe its coz I am a chef, but homemade food is so much tastier. When M was in hospital I did try the Olli, but he spat it out

refused it. I find when making your own, you can make more variety. I like using Annabel Karmel's recipes for guidance and ideas. I must admit I do have a dim view on baby jar food

I find them very watered down, and extreme temperatures destroy important nutrients.
Elrike- Dis wonderlik dat E om rol
Shame, my sister had a mc at 8 weeks (blighted ovum). Having her d & c done today. Feel so sad for her and her Fiancee. It's never an easy time losing a child.
So what is everyone doing for easter? Any special traditions?
We have bought one choc easter bunny and 6 loose easter eggs LOL will most probably just use it for photos with him in it
Hope you all have a wonderful easter with your lovely families
