Hello ladies

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Momtoc, always nice to have a busy weekend. I find that if I’m not busy, I resort to my trusted old friend- The Fridge, ALL DAY. So it’s better for me to be out and about.
Geesh your kidney story sounds HECTIC, as Palesa says TV series stuff, lol!

I had my appendix removed 2 years ago and that alone drove me crazy. I didn’t do too well with the 'little cut' (in my books it was MAJOR)...so I can’t imagine what a c-sec will be like...I hope I won’t have to find out either.

So Palesa, I'm definitely going natural WITH Epidural- well if all goes according to plan that is. My Dr warned me about over planning, especially since this is my 1st. He said a lot of women often suffer as they don’t keep an 'open mind' about possible changes to their birth plan.

Ms_S I find that drinking ginger tea and chewing stimerols helped me when I felt nauseous. But I must admit my nausea was very mild compared to some of the ladies on this forum.

I'm a bit worried that I haven’t felt 'real' baby movements- I feel like I’m not 'in tune' with my body and there’s something wrong with me *weeps*. I figured at 20 weeks I should have felt something, and all the books say so too? :(

Palesa its the Angel Sounds Doppler, you can get it from Dischem or Baby City. Between R400 - R500 I think.

Mandri it was indeed a busy weekend. It was just up & down the whole time. I only sort of relaxed when we got to my MIL & then sunday afternoon again but when it gets to the weekend I just want to get out of the house :-)
This weekend is gonna be busy again!!!!!!!! We didn't take my lg to the zoo over the weekend as it was just too cold, so we gonna try this sunday again & I also have to go cut my hair saturday and it's my one friend's birthday so we will probably go out & celebrate it with her.

palesa, you just made me laugh now. I can only picture that scene with you screaming. Let me tell you, I would never wish a kidney stone on my worst enemy. It is unbelievably sore. It actually all started when I was about 21 weeks pregnant with my lg. When I 1st experienced the pain, I thought I was actually going into early labour. I didn't know what was going on & then my gynae gave me buscopan as he didn't suspect it to be kidneys. He just did all his normal checks to make sure it wasn't early labour & the scan looked fine & he also gave me meds that helped for a while but then at 26 weeks I got it again & he did an internal check again to make sure I wasn't going into labour & when that was fine he said he suspects it's my kidneys & that he needs to admit me ASAP. I was in so much pain, I was throwing up, I couldn't eat & I was put in 2 drips (one had phethidine in & the other one was meds to suppress early labour). At the end of the day with all the scans & urologist experience they picked up that my lg was pressing on my left kidney which caused it to swell up & blocked my pipes & the urine couldn't pass properly, that also put pressure on my right kidney. I had to get stents put in to open up the pipes & had to keep that in until birth, thus the reason for getting a c-section as well. I immediately had relieve when the stents were put in but because baby was pressing on my bladder, I could feel the stents & that itself caused other discomfort :S This was just the 1st hurdle in my path.............will continue with all my problems on another post ha ha ha

Ms_S, sjoe you have to drive a long way just to get to an airport. Have you tried chewing on gum, maybe something minty?

Hi everyone

Yes, I've been busy at work at least! Someone new started today, so whole day I've been orientating her. Didn't realize we do so much at work.

Momtoc, you had a really nice weekend. Its always nice to spend quality time with your mom. You've already been through a lot, I hope the vbac goes smoothly!

I'm definitely going with epidural cos I'm allergic to pain and not strong at all. Although the other night I dreamt I had a c-sec.

AFM Going home tomorrow..not looking forward to the 4 hour drive to the airport and the time spent on the plane :( I'm STILL nauseas, and long drives makes it worse. We've driven long distances a few times, and I just couldn't handle it when I was 12 weeks . I flew when I was 4 weeks, and it was fine. I'm hoping everything will go ok now..I mean, I'm 15 weeks already, this should come to and end!
