Clueless, I'm due the 8th of Nov but hoping for a vbac so we will see when this little one feels like appearing, if I were to go c-sec it would have been on the 6th.
It's ok to be scared and a little selfish, it is huge and life changing.
Interesting question you asked Mosaneo or should I say interesting word choice. I'd think that only exposing children to lets say drugs for example when their brain can actually process the dangers would be better than for example a 12 year old that can't comprehend because the brain development isn't there. I don't plan to get her inside and lock the doors till she's 18 or something, I'd like her to volunteer at for example the local shelter, old age home, soup kitchen etc. I'd like to think that giving her a solid foundation would make it easier for her to spot the 'wrong crowd' a mile away and be confident enough in herself to tell them to go fly a kite!
momtoc - Since birth with B I've been moving in the homeschooling circles, because she was home till 15 months and even when I worked I never felt like a working mom, I have much the same parenting philosophy as homeschooling moms because I also didn't fit into the stay at home mom sending child to daycare as soon as possible for socialization mold. I started her on tot school (or playing with a purpose as it's also referred to) at a young age and noticed a huge difference between her and her peers when she started daycare - not that I'd say she's smart or anything like that but there was/is a clear difference.
Yes and then there's curriculum 2005, nuff said!
And SA ranking 138th out of 142 countries with regards to quality of education
I'm sure I can come up with a list of reasons but mostly we live in a smallish town with 2 options, private school till grade 7 then public or public till matric, or she'd have to go a different town. Homeschooling options are so endless that I'd like her to get an international matric equivalent so her options for further studies are endless.
