My dh explains to her who that is & she asks why is she making her scared & so forth.

I took her to our bed but she wrapped herself so tightly under blankets, hiding her little head, that I felt so sorry for her.

Both my hubby & I were rattled & concerned so he sent his mother a message & she told us to just burn some candles & she will phone her one friend who is a psychic & ask him about it but I mean really now, I don't care if it's my hubby's gran, she is scaring my daughter & now we back to square one with her!!!!!!!

I also phoned my aunt that night & explained to her what had happened cause she also knows an old lady that has these psychic abilities but doesn't do it for money or anything like that & she is very good cause she can see them & talk to them without her coming to your house. She hasn't managed to get hold of her but said she will try again today.

I have no idea what to do but now, I don't even wanna go home cause my daughter is so terrified & can't move around on her own without us holding her hand.......

mosaneo, I wish that it was only fear but there is definitely something there. I also don't want to live there but we can't go anywhere else...

Clueless, I've always been scared of sleeping on my own but I must say, I felt very comfortable in our own place & would've slept alone without dh if he wasn't there. I would still be a bit scared but I would've coped

So let me continue the story...........

So tues night dh went to the gym & when it was time for my daughter to go to bed, she asked me to go to the loo with her before she went to bed.
I was standing in the dining room folding clothes & she was talking to me. All of a sudden she looks toward the door that leads to the hall & gets a fright & runs to my chair. I got such a fright & I asked her what's wrong. She said there is a "tannie". So immediately I'm thinking that it's my dh's gran that my mil kept telling us......
So I walk to the living room to put the clothes down & my daughter runs after me & tells me to go with her as she needs to go to the toilet & wants to go to bed. Now my mil's bedroom is at the end of the hall & dark cause the light is off - obviously ha ha
So we start walking & she wants me to walk infront of her but she keeps looking at the bedroom & I pause & she looks again, screams & runs to the living room, jumps on the couch & curls up hiding her face. Again, I get such a fright a rush into the living room asking her what she saw.
At first she doesn't want to talk & then she says there is a monster. I ask her what the monster looks like & she says it's a tannie monster. So I try to calm her down & trying to get her to tell me where exactly she saw her, what she looks like etc.

She then asks for her dad & luckily he arrived after a few min's. I explained to him & so does my daughter & so off we go to the toilet & then he checks his mother's room etc. He also took her to the dining room where there is a few photos & he asks her if the tannie is on any of the photos & she immediately points to his grandmothers photo when she was younger!!!!!!

Momtoc, I also believe in spirits etc, and also not completely comfortable with the idea. As stupid as it sounds, for me it helps that my cat and dog sleeps in the room with me, so when my hubby isnt there, at least I'm not alone. And it sortof feels like they watch over me Cant wait for the rest of your story!

Chantal, I also need ideas for my nursery, especially the one wall. I agree with Ms_S, start with a color or a color palette and work from there. I wanted a light blue (powder blue) room cause the nursery room is very warm, so when we heard we're having a girl, we decided on blue with pink trim. Looking good so far, but the one main wall, against which the cot is standing, (now painted blue) is too empty for my taste. Dont know what to put up on that...

Mandri the bedding is beautiful, you are going to have a nice nursery. Glad baby is all good.

Ms_S i wish i had a staff member like yours coz then we would just chat the whole day about babies. its not my first baby bu it always cheers me up to speak about my baby, staff i need to buy and checking the development stages.

Chantal i am sure you will have a good time with your mom, might even shed a tear, you know how emotional we get.

Ms_S, all the unpacked boxes & things standing all over is driving me crazy. I hate it!!!!!
As for you colleague, I also understand that everyone handles pregnancy differently, especially in the early stages but sjoe, I don't know hey. I won't tell everyone so early on, especially work colleagues lol.

As for the ? that I asked - Yes, it's where we stay. We are currently staying with my mil for the time being. She is planning on moving to Naboomspruit, to live with her boyfriend & is currently visiting him there.
Now, my daughter & I have been feeling very uncomfortable in that house since the beginning of the year. So, I was freaked out when I new we had to move there as I feel so uncomfortable.
But surprisingly though, I slept okay since the weekend & my daughter was also okay cause I'm also struggling with her since the beginning of the year - the normal type of fears that kick in around her age - darkness, monsters, things they see on tv etc cause she always went to bed on her own but from the start of Jan I had to go to bed with her, had to go with her when she needed the toilet etc......but some days were better than others.
Anycase, she was perfectly fine over the weekend. She bathed alone, she played in her room on her own - during daytime & night time until tuesday night.........

My mother in law keeps saying that it's her mother that keeps an eye on her & she told us this many months ago & it doesn't bother her at all. She sleeps in that house all alone but it just freaks me out.
I don't like knowing & also feeling that presence in a house.
The dead & the living can't live together. I don't mind that deceased family members come & check up on you once in a while but I don't want to be aware of their presence.......

Mandri, your bedding set looks so cute! If I were doing a nursery, I would copy your idea. We all experiencing these weird aches and pains, so it should be normal right? 

Chantal, enjoy your time with your mom. I'm a bit envious, I wish my mom could visit I have my MIL with me at the moment, but it's just not the same. I hope she spoils you, and you can take a break to sort out your baby stuff. I don't have any ideas or tips, but the one thing I think of when hearing a baby girl, is PiNK maybe you can start with a color palate, and then carry on from there? 

Mosaneo, how is your son feeling now? I hope work gets better, they should really be more accommodating, pregnancy is a serious thing, you not having a baby for play play. 

Momtoc, unpacked boxes or anything, really drives me crazy. I don't know how you do it. I definitely believe in spirits and ghosts and stuff, so does my dh. But we don't find them creepy or anything, cos it's usually just deceased family members checking up on us. Is it the new house that's making you feel uncomfortable? I would also freak out if it wasn't a familiar spirit or something, cos then you start hearing a whole lot of creaks in the house. 

AFM my colleague with whom I work closely with, just found out she's pregnant for the first time. She only found out Tuesday, after doing a blood test at work, because all the home tests were still showing negative. She's still very early in her pregnancy, but she's going around telling everyone. She also walked into the office this morning with a stack of magazines and books. I know everyone reacts differently when finding out they pregnant, but I think she's doing a bit much so early on, especially since they weren't even trying for a baby really. She's already talking about extending her house. I don't think I should complain really cos at least I get to read all her books and stuff without having to go out to buy anything.

ChantalM, My mother lives in Mosselbay & came up about 3 weeks ago. It's hard not seeing her often but I think you can relate. I can imagine the excitement for you both!!!!
I've also got alot to do still before this little man arrives & I'm feeling the pressure.
Are there any specific characters, colours etc that you like for a nursery?

Glad to hear baby is growing so nicely.....Nice weight as well - healthy baby.
Your hips hurt & my butt hurts lol! It hurts just below the "stuitjie" & only on the right cheek It's at its worse when I stand up & have to walk.......

mosaneo, sorry your lo isn't feeling too great. How is he doing now?
That sucks when you haven't been at a company for a while & get pregnant but I'm sure everything will work out at the end of the day. Keep strong!!

AFM, haven't done alot of unpacking this week. It's just a rush every day. Rush to be in time before the creche closes, get home, start with the cooking, getting my daughter to eat, get her bathed, spend some time with her, do some ironing etc etc etc.............before you know it, it's 8:30 already!!!!!!! Will do some sorting out over the weekend.
Can't wait for my scan on monday. Got my 4D scan next week sat & very excited about it.

Who of you believe in spirits hanging around at homes etc? Like lost souls, deceased family members coming to check up on us - being concerned etc??? I fully believe that these entities do exist & I also tend to be uncomfortable in certain homes & it bugs me. I'm a real scary cat.
