This weekend my mom is coming up to JHB from Cpt, I am looking forward to seeing her and she is looking forward to see me and my bump in real life for the first time

I have started shopping for the baby, got her pram and cot sorted but there is still much to do and i am starting to feel a little anxious now as time seems to be flying by!

I still need to set up her nursery etc. I need to make time instead of letting it overwhelm me!

Any innovative/creative tips or ideas for baby nursery are welcome.

Sjoe seems everyone is so busy these days, no chatting going on!

Okay I can't contain my excitement, got a photo from the lady doing my bedding. What do you think?

Operation nursery is going okay at the moment, finally started to paint the ceiling, hopefully by the end of the week that and the cupboards will be done. Then I can move everything back and start sorting. Bedding should arrive within 2 weeks, rocking chair within 6 weeks.

AFM - went for our 24 week scan on Friday, baby is doing very well, weighs about 719g now. Still super busy but I enjoy every moment of it! My hips hurt like hell, its getting worse and worse no matter what I do. The rocking chair better hurry up cause I think I might need to sleep upright in it the last couple of weeks!

Morning ladies

i had a great weekend, the jazz festival was nice but at night it got very cold. I slept the whole of sunday and my boy is sick, tonsils and flu, had to take him to the doc yesterday.

Ms-S i cant take maternity leave earlier because i only finish a year in this company on the 1st December so that is when i will qualify for paid maternity leave. Lucky you have started shopping, i cant wait to go, i am scared every little cute thing will charm me to buy it.

Momtoc at least now you only have to pack boxes out as apposed to still waiting to move. Take your time and soon you will be done. srry your lg was sick.

As for being too hot.....not really hey. The heat hasn't kicked in @ night where I feel like I have to kick off blankies.

Clueless, that is what my gynae told me as well. He said you won't lie on your back for too long & that you will automatically wake up or just turn over to your side. I know there are always some cases where women slept on their backs & it caused problems but the chances are really slim of it happening to everybody....

I really think your boss is being unfair. I understand that yes, it's a busy month but you are pregnant & he needs to understand that it gets difficult for pregnant women towards the end to work so hard.

Ms_S, that is so nice of the store manager to give you the items for free & I'm glad you had a good shopping experiene, even though dh worked on your nerves
Luckily my dh never really questions what I buy. He'll just sometimes tell me to slow down for now as we can buy later again hahaha.

AFM, we are finally in our new place & still have alot of packing out to do. Friday was just way too stressful for me. My poor hubby worked his butt of & was so tired. He was still loadind loose stuff in the car 19:00 @ night & taking it through to the new place.
I never got around to do my hair - we just had way too much to do over the weekend. I moved my appointment for this saturday.
We had a very busy weekend. Had to go buy my lg's stationery for the creche, had a birthday braai on sunday, tried doing some packing out, had to take my lg to the doc on sat as she suffers from sinus, etc......
We will probably be fully settled in by the weekend lol.
My lg is doing fine @ her new creche. She didn't cry & looked very happy when we fetched her yesterday. It was just hard on me as I cried when I got in the car after dropping her off. I felt so sorry for her as she was just sitting there & everything is so unfamiliar still BUT I know they adapt very quickly & she will make some friends in no time.

Has the weekend been so hectic that everyone is still recovering? I hope everyone is well I posted a reply last week, but it got lost somewhere, it takes so long to type on the ipad that I didn't feel like doing it from overs.

Momtoc, how did the move go? Are you settled in already? Please give us an update, also on how your girl is adjusting to the new creche.

Palesa, has the cramping improved yet? I had calf pain only one time, and it was so terrible that it woke me up from my sleep. It felt like someone was stabbing me. Also, whenever I stand up after sitting for a long time, my inner thighs pain, almost as if I was sitting on a bicycle for five hours. Its very weird. Was your weekend as relaxing as you hoped it would be?

Mosaneo, your boss sounds terrible! Their explanation is so lame. I hope you can find some way to work it out? Can you take your maternity leave earlier...and just add on your annual leave next year? So it still adds up to the same amount of off days? How was the Jazz festival?

Clueless, your nursery is going to look so special when you done with everything, can't wait to see the end result! You really putting a lot of effort into it, I hope its worthwhile, and your baba spends lots of time in the room. Can't believe you still going to the gym? I get tired after 5 squats, and my left foot pains when I walk from home to work (its only 700m).

How is everyone's hair looking? And how is sleeping going? I must say, I haven't had any sleeping problems so far...although initially falling asleep is a bit of a mission because that's when baby is most active.

AFM went to Polokwane the weekend to do proper baby clothes shopping. I got a few things, but dh was working on my nerves. He questioned every item I took..eg. why do I need two baby blankets? What is the towel for? It was so irritating, luckily my MIL was with, so she was good guidance, and a good buffer. We had a budget before hand, and I didn't even spend half of it. When paying for everything at Woolworths, a pack of 3 crawlers didn't want to scan, because it was old stock. The manager just gave it to us for free, which was really nice of him.

Momtco my boss wont let me take leave because it is end of November and that is a very busy time for HR beacause of double payroll, but should not be my problem because they should get a temp which what they do not want to do. and imagine that is three weeks before my birth date.
Good luck with you moving hey, hope you lg will like the new creche. Momtoc you will be so tired on Monday, your weekend will be very busy.

I feel hot during the day Pale, at night it is a bit chilly. I hav not bought any maternity clothes and my things dnt fit anymore so every morning is a mission. i wanna go baby clothes shopping next week and maybe i will pick a dress or two for myself. my son also needs summer clothes, its so hectic in this rough economy of ours.

I am changing hospitals and Docs, i saw Brenthurst last week after my Doc's appointment and i was not impressed at all, oh my word that hospital is so small. the baby room is so ugly and small. dnt think 4 people can fit in their pharmacy. I am not even sure that they have a Neotel ward, no ways am i giving birth there.

I will be booking at Lenmed hospital and will use Dr. Rashid who i have used before in my early pregnancy and Lenmed wards are like a 4 stars hotel.

This weekend i will be at the Jazz Festival in Moretele Park, i am delighted to go party befoe my bump gets way too big fo me to enjoy occassions.
