i cant access Marijke`s picture of the nursery maybe it`s the 3g but will definately look at it tomorrow when im at work.

started playing the lottery religiously since Friday defiantely feeling you Mags. it must have been wonderful to feel that movement i always speak to him when he starts moving around. it`s a wonderful feeling.

i love my MIL but a month would drive me crazy a few days will be fine. i need my mommy forsure at least a few days after the birth. will only get a nanny a month before i go back to work. i want the festive season to enjoyable just us. the family will defiantely be coming to visit.

Ms_S I wish I didn’t have to go the full-time nanny option…but I have to go back to work after 6 months…and my folks aren’t retired. Now I just play the lotto every Saturday so I won’t have to go back to work and be a SAHM.

Marijke your nursery is absolutely beautiful!! And you have the same cot I want! Looking around for ‘gently used’ ones, but really having no luck. Guess I’ll jus have to fork out the R2500- which excludes the drawers.

I finally felt the baby properly move yesterday…funny enough I know I’ve felt that sensation before but last night I was 110% sure. It was 3am and I couldn’t sleep and it happened. I guess it was because of the stillness that I could tune in! It was by far theeee most amazing feeling in the world! Even woke DH up!

Marijke your nursery is beautiful!!!! A calm environment, or rather it will be after the clean up! Don't worry, we all have that room in our houses, mine is also my baby room! Don't know where I will go with half of the stuff when I sort it out!

palesa, good on you for changing gynaes & hospitals. It is very very important that you feel comfortable with the gynae & hospital. My gynae practices at Garden City & Wilgeheuwel but I prefer going to Wilgeheuwel & believe it or not, he prefers me to rather go to Wilgeheuwel as well ha ha ha. Who are you going to see at Flora Clinic?

babyzee, that is very convenient that his 2 daughters work in the same company. Is it a family business or a private company cause usually it is those 2 set ups that allow for that?

mosaneo, I would also not stay with my MIL. I think I'm the difficult one hehe. I just like my own space & doing my own thing. I don't like people butting in & telling me how to raise my baby etc. I will ask for help when I don't know what to do but I'm okay with it if my mother comes for a little while cause I don't see her often.

I think the Angel Heart Doppler costs between R400 & R500 depending on where you buy. I can't remember how much I paid for it cause it was 5 years back.

Ms_S, sjoe, 400 people for your wedding & only from your side!!!!!! How the hell is that possible LOL.

Marijke, love the nursery look or should I say, the way it will look after the big clean up

Ms there is no ways i would stay with my mom in law, one night is enough for me, she talks too much, hai n will want to control what i do with my baby. i will be staying with my mom and will later get a nanny coz hubby stay in cape town- ya long distance.

Marijke that nursery was beautiful, you need to clean it up and make it as nice as it was. i wont be getting a cott, my place is too small, maybe a chest of drawers, pram, car seat, feeding chair n accessories only.

I keep forgetting that I promised a pic of the nursery, well here it is. It doesn't look like this at the moment, no, it now looks more like a bomb went off. I used it as a study, and general storage area and now I can't get past the door - Anyone seen hoarders, well I have one room that looks like that!



The picture above the crib is one that hubby drew when he was a little boy, it has all sorts of wild animals on it. The curtains I got from my sister, she had them specially made for her first, cost about 700 if I remember and she didn't need them anymore so I thought it would be better than forking out more money, it doesn't really fit the theme but anyway.

Thanks thanks everyone! I went to fetch my goodies from my colleague lastnight (everything is in such good condition, shoo. And she washed everything for me too, even brought the price down for me) and everything is blue! She has 2 little girls, so I was expecting pinks.

My MIL was so super excited on the phone when I told her we having a boy. She now wants to come up end of the month to look after us for a few weeks. I really like this idea cos despite everything, my MIL is a GREAT cook. Our car might be going in to the panel beaters end of the month (depends when the parts come in)..so we unable to book tickets for her till that is sorted.

Babyzee, I don't think I'll follow the 40 days tradition..that's too long to stay in the house. I don't know where I would take a pap baby, but my dh and mom said its up to me. I'll also save the sheep for later. I don't know how you can keep it a secret for so long..that takes A LOT of self control. Do your kids know you pregnant? I can quickly find 100 family members to invite, and it won't even seem a lot. I had +- 400 people at my side of the wedding.

mosaneo, its funny how you only cut hair after 1 year, when we do it within 7 days. I also want a doppler...I found a free fetal heart doppler simulator app on the ipad and really believed it worked. But when I put it on my dh stomach there was still a heart beat

Palesa, good luck with the new hospital and gynae. Hope it all works out for you! I agree, work sucks. Its so unnecessary. I just want the money to roll into my account.

I'll be staying by my parents for all of my maternity leave, then come back to limpopo with my MIL. I'm not sure how long she'll stay with us, but I'll get a nanny as well. Dh is dead set against a nanny and wants he's mom to stay with us forever..but that's not an option in my books. 2-3 months is OK. We live in a flat, and there's NO entertainment in my town..so we will always be in one another's company
