@BabyT so glad you received good news from your doc!

Had a look at Genesis Clinic and don't know that we have anything close to what they offer in Cape Town - looks idyllic!

Did a bit of research and found a doctor who is happy to listen to my requests and respect my decisions - which was difficult since our hospital (Kingsbury) has been dubbed 'Ceasars Palace'. Very happy with him so far and he's delivered a few colleagues and friends babies and they were very happy too.

Our first two appointments were pretty much regular gynea visit prices - R800 & R1100.00, thereafter it's R550 a visit, which is still a little ouch considering all the other expenses.

I feel a lot better, apparently the headaches will come and go throughout the pregnancy. But since Friday I have been fine.

@BabyT, I'm really glad that your baby is healthy and that you are both doing well.

@Mother Niki, I don't really suffer from leg pain, but the pelvic pain has been driving me insane. How are you doing now? I hope you have been able to find some relief.

@Mrs Mom, are you feeling any better after your sinus? problems? Your little one is too cute - such great pics!

@CarienM, congrats on your healthy baby boy! I'm sure your son is excited at the idea of having a little brother I hope you'll post some pics as soon as you're able to.

I'm in Pretoria and will be having a repeat c-section at Wilgers. My daughter was also born there - the hospital is great and I adore my gynea so won't even think about going anywhere else.

My gynea is at Netcare Krugersdorp, I believe both Dr Piek and Dr van Rooy there has the same philosophy ito charges though.

@CarienM, congrats on the boy - and you are very lucky to find out so early on what you are expecting. I had a dream last night that I had a little boy, I will be happy with a baby of any gender, but in my heart I would really love a little boy baby

Maybe we should attend the next open day at Genesis

@MrsMom - our midwife is Gail, we really like her, we connected with her almost immediatly

@Baby T - Its such a pity not all gynea's are like that. our last visit cost us R1500 for gynae + R1800 for bloods .
WRT Genesis - we are 25 mins from Genesis but only 5min from our closest major hospital, so I suppose if something does horribly go wrong while we labor at home - the hospital is close by. But I'm really hoping that we get the birth we want (at genesis).
When we went for our 1st scan we had someone take us one a tour of Genesis and show us around and that's what convinced us (or rather me) - my husband says he is happy with whatever I choose

Morning ladies, hoping everyone had a good weekend. I didnt do any research into the Genesis clinic so can unfortunately not comment, but I know there are a few ladies on the forum who has given birth there, maybe post a question out to them for some 'first hand experience'?

Anyway, we had our fetal assessment this morning, our little one is doing well, everything in order and growing beautifully. We are having another little boy. I am a bit disappointed because I really wanted a girl, but always said that the Big Guy upstairs will give us what we are meant to have and so we are overjoyed with our new little boy on the way. We ultimately of course just wanted a healthy baby, and that is what we are getting, and this is the greatest news we could hope for.

He is very cute already, sucking on his fingers and having his hand in front of his face the whole time. My husband has the pictures with him right now so I cant show you guys any, but will post some later.
