Hi ladies
Sorry I've been so scarce, really struggling to get online these days
Well my little angel is not so angelic anymore. Shame no, he is perfect but he has been really niggly lately. I think he has alot of wind/ colic. Also we struggle often with the b/f. Somtimes he latches like a dream and then othertimes not at all and there's lots of crying and throwing his head around and chewing of my boob

We are buying an expresser so that I can express and hubby can share in some of the feeding. I have MAM bottles, I have heard from a few sources that babies like the MAM teats and can switch between bottle and boob without too much fuss. I will keep you ladies posted on how this works out!
Kerry, shame your poor little girl. Well done on going to the paed so soon. Thank goodness she is all better now. My hubby also went away for the long weekend. We had plans to just stay in bed and read and watch movies (in between feeding) but I was quite ill so my parents really put themselves out and helped me sooo much. I am so grateful that we live in the same town and they're only about 10/ 15 mins away. At one stage DH and I were going to emigrate or move to Cape Town (we're in Jozi) so I am so grateful now that we have my folks (and his folks) as a support base.
I feel sometimes like I'm stuck in a timewarp, days just fly by with me feeding and doing washing and that's about it. No time to cook or go anywhere. But I just look down at my boy's little face with his beautiful baby skin and perfect little features and I know that this is all part of a bigger picture and its sooo worth it. (and my boobs tingle each time, hehe).
Thankfully I DO NOT have mastitis! That will teach me to self-diagnose. But I did have a huge abcess under my arm that needed to be drained at the doctors and I was on massive doses of augmentin antibiotics. It was so sore. Then the most gross part, I had to drain it myself on monday morning in the bathroom. I won't go into any more details but I think it was the most disgusting thing I've ever done. Needless to say I am not a medical person
So between the abcess, breastfeeding up at night and the tummy bug I had 3 weeks ago, I am so tired of feeling run down! I am feeling much better though, especially now that all that poison/ infection is out my system. Shoo wee.
As for the deed, hubby has accosted me twice! Shame that's an exaggeration, the first time I was keen, after about 3 weeks, and although it was a little sore, probably more from nerves than anything else, I did enjoy it. But the other night I just wasn't feeling it at all. I feel bad, I will try make more of an effort. I normally enjoy it but I think I was still feeling ill from the infection.
My 6 week check up is in 2 weeks time, then I go on the mini-pill. For now we're using condoms. I wanted to have the mirena inserted but its too expensive for us for now so as soon as I can afford it I will do that.
Hey ladies who had a caesar, did you take longer than you thought to recover from the op? I took longer than I thought, although I did get a tummy bug in the first week and then the abcess had been building up from about the same time so maybe that's why I felt so 'man-down'. But I'm curious to hear how other moms recovered? And did anyone have bad gas (sorry)?
I read somewhere that to be a parent means to forever walk around with your heart outside your body. I think this is so true. My heart feels so raw and exposed these days, all I think about it is my baby and how I will do anything for him. Its funny how your whole perspective really does change once you have a child. And all those cliches are so true!
Gotto run, hopefully I can pop in soon and catch up some more
