Morning ladies. Hope you all had a good nite? My dh was at work so mom helped, which was great. We gave Gabi some telament drops for what we thought might be colic and it worked like a dream but seemed to make her quite sleepy. @ Kerry, has Kaylin always had the awake stretch? Gabi has had it since she was born - 6-8 hours in a day of being awake at a stretch besides her being woken for feeds during her sleepy time. And baby sense tells me she should only ever be awake 1 hr at a time max! Lol. Thanx once again for all the advice, sounds like u r all doing an amazing job.

Hey ladies

Long time glad to see you are all doing well.
Went to the gynae last week for my 6weeks app and it went well.
Also saw paed and he said I need to start a routine for baby coz she is too big (dont think so though). I am trying but yoh she loves her food, she was weighing 5kgs that day. Today when I took her for immunization she was 5.2Kgs still 6weeks.

I am hoping we can start the routine soon but its an uphill battle.
Sometimes she will sleep well sometimes she wants to feed every 2hrs if not an hour.

Sonay Liwa also has a rash on her face paed recommended Epimax for bathing and moisturizing.

hey Mags, congrats on baby she shares a birthdate with my LG

Mags, Kaylin is like that too, happy to be awake in the day doesn't seem to want too much sleep! hang in there with the breast feeding... it gets so much easier... just take it a day at a time and remember at about two weeks baby's gonna have a growth sprt and feed almost constantly for about 2 days and then again at about 6 weeks. now i am at 7 weeks the milk comes nicely she feeds perfectly no hassling with latching... my nipples are fine again so ive stopped needing madela purelan cream... all is good. Promise it will get easier.... oh and at about a month old you can expect baby to sleep a 5-7 hour sleep at night. :-)

Sonay - The possetting thing, kaelyn does it too... goes a week or two where every fed goes straight down no trouble... and then a few days where everything comes up and shes constantly. try some lactase drope... that will help baby digest any lactose thats maybe causing baby grief... otherwise as long as there are still wet nappies you don't need to worry some babies just poset alot... my mom says i did it till about six months.

And finally for me... well baby's all routined out... she feeds at 8pm after her bath, then 1am... 4am... 6am...10am... 1pm 4pm... 6pm... and then it starts again.... every day the same :-) and she poos once a day now in the pre-bath nappy.... isn't it grand! :-)

Hi. Sonay thanx so much for encouragement re breastfeeding. Gabi is sleeping about 3 hours from beginning of one feed to next but has a patch during the day where she can be awake 6 or 7 hours! Trying to figure out wot thats about - hunger, colic or wot! Also challenge for me of breastfeeding is knowing how much she is taking in! Thanx for advice, hav lovely Sundays! xx

Hi Mags

Great to have you here. Yes, time is flying by. Must admit somedays I feel like I am missing days.

I'm starting this week to get Shani in some kind of routine. I am now feeding her from both breast at a feed and think she can then go for a 3 to 4 hr stretch. She's sleeping a better since I'm doing it. So, please hold thumbs.

As for your breastfeeding, hang in there. It gets easier as you get along. Yes, I wanted to stop or at least top up with formula on various occasions. I set my self shorter targets to exclusively BF. And I'm happy to say I've made my first target of 6 weeks. It helps to start expressing early, then you can have some freedom. Works for me cause then I can have some snooze while dad look after her, or I can go for a walk or just have an hour to myself or with our older boy.

Chat soon.

Have a relaxed Sunday

Hi ladies! Perhaps i can make it 4 of us! Sorry to be mia, just getting to grips with being a mom! Gabriella was born 22nd Sept via c sec, weighing 3.03kg. She is now 3 and a half wks. Wow, amazing to see sum of yours are over 6 wks! Congrats. Glad to read all is well. The biggest adjustment 4 me is so much less sleep and life revolving around feeds! Still trying to breastfeed. Take care, chat soon
