Gherkins? Sounds like my son, he eats olives like sweets. I will try your ideas thanks. I have one of those mesh thingies, but my daughter doesn't like it as much. I also only use the Purity as back up or when going out. Tried the Oats and banana this morning, actually thought she won;t eat cereal as she has finished a 200ml bottle, but she liked it and eat about half.

I wouldn't stress too much about stimulation baba. They all develop at their own pace. To be honest, I'm not encouraging S at all, but I guess, since she has to compete with a very rough big brother, she will just do things her way. I haven't been to a Clamber Club, but heard many good things about it.

We had my son's 6th bday party last week and we stressed quite a bit, especially when it looked all grey and gloomy early morning. But the weather turned out perfect.

Enjoy the last minute run-around and be prepared for a little baba that would only want YOU at the end of the day tomorrow.

Sonay, I had no luck with the bulb type aspirators so I bought the nose frida from Dischem and it works like a charm. Only thing is, John has now become wise to it so tries to pull it out and moves his head constantly from side to side when I do it so its really difficult to do it without DH helping. Its a bit gross - you suck the mucus out their nose, but there is a filter so that you don't swallow anything and it REALLY works. It scares Johnny though, poor thing, it sounds like I'm sucking his brains out

Awesome re: the puritys! I don't use them much at all but they're great for back-up and if we go out etc. Also we are going away for Easter and I don't want to have to be steaming and pureeing while we're on holiday so I'm defo going to Game to buy some. Hope the sale is still on.

Well I gave John a cocktail gherkin yesterday, more to see if he would gag at the sour taste - but he loved it! hehe. Just like his mom
So you could try cocktail gherkins or carrots and cucumbers cut into sticks/ strips. What about getting that mesh food bag and you can put anything in there whole and then your LO sucks at it through the mesh. I'm going to get one for John.

John also loves those rice rusks from Checkers and they're not as messy as the teething biscuits

John is progressing nicely but nowhere near crawling or pulling himself up on things. I think I'm going to join a clamber club class so we can learn a few exercises and strengthen his back and upper body muscles. I was a late crawler, only crawled at 10 months, but I'm a little worried that maybe I'm not doing enough or stimulating him enough. Clamber club looks like so much fun, I went to an open day yesterday in Fourways.

We've got John's baptism tomorrow and then we are having everyone back to ours for a picnic. I've ordered some platters and all the family is making food, its going to be awesome. I'm very excited. I haven't really entertained in years. There's about 40 people coming so its going to be crazy, thats why I'm going with the picnic idea. Pray for me that it doesn't rain girls! It looks like 60% chance now but maybe it will pass by tomorrow. Otherwise we will all be picnicking in the lounge and down the passage

Your babas are growing so nicely. I was asking my friends today, do babies realy need to start crawling or walking? (Sher, I don't know how I would have handled a mobile baby so early, but I'm sure her development is right on track)

My LO is also starting to pull herself up on things, and grabbing everything in order to get it right, my hair, most of the time. She has started to lift her in a crawling position, so I guess that will happen one of these days. Still no teeth or sign of it. On the eating front, she is not very font of pureed food anymore. Would eat it only when very hungry. She prefer fingerfoods. Any ideas of how & what to give her? Someone on another forum told me about baby rusks that one get at Checkers. It is divine. She LOVES it. And I do since it does not make half the mess as teething biscuits.

She has suddenly developed a very runny, snotty nose on Wed. No fever and clear. My first thought was an food-allergy, but she hasn't eaten any new foods this week besides starting with Nan2 on Sunday. I bought Karvol today and i must say, so far her nose is still open and she's sleeping well. Also bought the Pigeon nasal aspirator to try getting all the mucous out, used it on her twice, with not a lot of success. Any advise?

I should probably go sleep now, but this is the only time I actually get to reply to posts. Hope you all have a great weekend. I wanna do as little as possible since we had a very busy one last week with my son's birthday party.

Oh yes,before I forget, for those that use Purity, it is on sale at Game, 6 for R20. A real steal.

Sher - i wouldn't worry, yes she is developing fast but all babies develop at their own rate it cant really be bad for her and you cant really stop her at any rate.

I actually dont know if I should be proud or worried, K has her first tooth at 4 months,started moving on tummy at 2 months, started crawling at 3, sitting on her own completely at 4 months, she is now 6 months and as I told Miggie, she has been trying to pull herself up for the last 3 week or so. now she she can pull herself half way up ? really ? she is only just entered 6 months, this cant be right. babies cant learn to stand up and walk now. I really think i must stop her. cant be too good for later development ....

she is growing way too quick and all is fine except this standing half way up on her own now,of course against her chair or play mat cross bars, she holds it and pulls herself up....

i dont know, scary. too cute thought i have to take out the kitchen each time she crawls there when mommy is cooking then put back in the lounge, she comes right back. she is everywhere

I dont know about you guys, but i dont want her to grow quick. I am just loving this age, she has her own little personality and we just started solids now ...loves her cereal. then two weeks time only we allowed to start with solids ...

Baby Liwa no teeth yet and not crawling in fact she hates
being on her stomach would rather roll over and lie on her
back.She is weighing 8.71kg now and is on solids full time.
Oh and she will b 7months on Saturday.
