Happy New Year mommies, hope you and your LO's are all well.
Anybody going to the Jhb meet next week Sat at Yeesh?
Ja I can't believe how fast the time is flying, it is such a cliche but so true - I'm trying to take it all in cos he is changing and growing daily.
Johnny was 4 months old last week and we started rice cereal at the same time. I wanted to wait until mid Jan but he was getting too hungry - his milk feeds are not enough anymore. He absolutely LOVES his cereal but we still haven't got it right. I started off giving him cereal in the morning, as per his clinic card, but he wakes up alot at night and doesn't always go back to sleep with the dummy. A few times I've put him on the boob early (in the middle of the night) and he drank hungrily.
The Baby Sense book says to start on cereal in the evenings so I am trying that now - but last night he still woke up alot and I had to feed him. I think he may need 2 cereal meals a day. My little boy is a very hungry boy! Today he has only had cereal at dinner but he had a little more than yesterday so I will see how tonight goes. But I think anyways from tomorrow I'm going to give it to him twice a day.
We are also going for more shots on Monday so I'm going to chat more to the nurse about it then too, and we'll see his weight. He was 6.5kg on the 17th December so I think he is definitely over 7kgs by now. And he is really good with tummy time these days and rolling over quite often, although only from tummy to back. He sits up well when supported and for a few seconds unsupported, leaning on his arms, until he falls to the left or right.
He has been drooling and blowing bubbles and gumming his fists (and his teething toys) for quite a while now but no sign of any teeth. And Dischem ran out of Pansarol and Teegel! But we still had some teegel at home so all good for now
I have been working since Johnny was 8 weeks old cos I work from home but it was quite low key, although still not easy to do with a LO. But in December I had quite a few large projects and it was quite hectic. My DH took some leave so he looked after baby mostly but it was still hard. It was awesome to have some money coming in though

Working from home means I get to spend alot of time with my boy and I don't have to leave him during the day, which is super. But the downside is when I do have work, I work around his naps and after he's gone to bed at night, which makes life a bit stressful. But us women seem to be designed to handle alot of stress and multitask right? Its tough sometimes but my baby is so rewarding and made my life so meaningful - and I feel very privileged to be a mother
