Lelani when do you guys celebrate your 10 years? Ours is next year and I am hoping for either a nice celebration with our nearest & dearest or a good holiday overseas...

Helen I agree il's too close is a recipe for trouble lol ... Mil & I got on fine before Shrey was born but the week after he was born things changed ... let's just say true colours were revealed ...

Helen re the words I was saying to Simone & Missk via e-mail this morning that Shrey is very far behind Addy & Saarah on words. I'm also not stressing though ... he is getting there slowly and picking up something new everyday ... you can see that the understanding is there even if the words aren't ...

Oh guys I almost had a heartattack this morning, dh made his coffee and left mug on kitchen counter about 15cm's away from the edge. I turn around and there is Shrey on tippy toes and fingers almost at handle. I have never gotten that quick from point A to B ... scolded him and he laughed, out him in corner and that was apparently a joke too ...

Hello ladies :woohoo:

We has a good night and Cole now also has a runny nose but other than that he is still as busy as ever.

LOL about NEDBANK, coz they were the ones that caused the whole delay with our house thing as they lost my parents' title deed....

Simone, I usually buy books for Cole at sales. Like two weeks ago somerset mall had a book sale and I got three great books for R100. Ones is a finger puppet glove thingy with a small book glued to the palm of your hand. The other is a Dora the Explora book with a little recording machine that you can record saying certain words and then it plays it back...and the I got a another book that is aboout building a robot which had little ribbon strips in the middle that pull out and form a robot at the end...Cole love's books

Re infidelity, my dad cheated on my mum and I swear if DH ever cheats on my I'll wait until he sleeps, then I boil some rice and once it's nice and hot I'll throw it all over his balls. ..well that's just my way of dealing with things....If he is not happy he must rather tell me and then we can see if we can work things out before he betrays me...

I know that I could also be the one that cheats but the only mean I really am close to at the moment are my brothers and the men at work are ANCIENT so I don't think that would work either...besides I doubt that any other man will put up with my nonsense the way that DH deals with me...I LOVE HIM MORE THAT ANYTHING!

Hi

I have read all the post,

Nelria, i hope boeta gain a lot of weight in the next 2 weeks and that you can go almost full term, the scans is very accurate, and all depends on how baby is positioned when the scan is done. cathy was supposed to be over 4kgs at birth and she was only 3.4, alwyn was supposed to be under 3.5 kg’s and he was a whooping 4.2kg

Simone good luck with the interview. I hope the economic improves soon, I haven’t received my full salaries since feb and it is getting hard. Hubby’s job is also hanging in the balance, if they don’t get projects coming in, in the next month or what FIL will need to close down, so please if any of you know of someone who wants to built a new house or do improvements please keep us in mind.

We had a better night with cathy… but I must admit she was more in my bed than in het cot but at least I got some sleep in. the flu got me and I am feeling horrible.

Re dummies and sucking fingers: with alwyn hubby didn’t want me to use a dummy, with cathy I told him I will, but at 10 weeks she refused the dummy. My step daughter used to suck her thumb till 2 years ago (age 12 then) shame she always slept with her duve over her face to hide it, it didn’t affect her teeth at all, and she tried so hard to stop it. we never made an issue of it, she had a hard baby/toddler phase and I felt if that comfort her let it go, I think it do more harm to tell her the whole time not do it.

Lisha think twice before you let your inlaws move in with you, I think I made one of the biggest mistakes when we moved to the plot with my parents. I love them and they take such good care of my kids but they are just to close, especially my mom nothing in my life is private.

Pampers lelani!!! I use the huggies for him at daycare but am too scared to change the night nappies as the pampers are fine. Maybe try a bigger nappy.

Hello again,

I'm at home today as some clients had to come pick something up from here and Theo just said I may as well stay at home for the day and he'll cover for me. Not one to argue with that!

Nelria good luck to you and Brett on the quitting front. YOU CAN DO IT!! This is very cruel of me but I told DH he also had to quit when I found out there was another bun in the oven, he is absolutely mortified when he sees a pregnant girl smoking so I told him if he continues then every time he lights up I'd light up too. He continued for an extra week after I'd quit and then my morning sickness had really started to kick in so everytime he came back inside the smell would make me retch and then I just said ok you've got until X cos I can't handle it. I'm proud to say he's managed nearly 2 weeks completely clean now :) And think about the cash it will save you, we really noticed the difference last month ;)

Oliver doesn't have a dummy nor does he suck thumb (he did but stopped when he was about 6months old) yet he is still way behind all your babas with the talking, he only has about 5/6 words, 4 of which are just sounds (eg if he sees a lion he goes RAAAAAAAAR, or a dog ooof ooof) His only actual words are dada and mama (and he ONLY says Mama when he's cross!) and ba (for bird). I don't think its necessary to stress about these things yet. And if you read all the books they also tell us that we should have completely weaned them off the bottle not long after their 1st birthday...I think a fair amount of us here are still giving bottles. The experts aren't always right ;)

And Lisha - No ways on the ils story!! Yikes! I've always gotten along well with my MIL until I had Oliver, she stayed on the same property and it absolutely drove me doolally having her so close after he was born. We ended up having a big fall out because I just couldn't handle it. Having Ils too close isn't a good thing in my book ;)

hi there mommies

sorry I've been MIA
been hectic at work...month end....grrrrr
& chanel has been sick :(
took her to the doc yesterday & he gave her antibiotics...grrrr...hate the stuff
but hopefully she'll get better now!!!

Zian is much better ;-)
I'm just soooooo frustrated....
I've used huggies dry comfort for day & night for a while & was very happy, but then it started leaking at night so this month I got a pack of huggies gold for at night time, but he still wakes up sopping wet
he baths at 7pm, then 200ml milk then sleep....most nights he sleeps until 7am, sometimes moaning for his dummy coz he cant find it, so I really dont want to wake him in the middle of the night to change a stupid nappy....so what do I do??? any ideas???
