Hello,

Took Oliver to the GP and he has throat and ear infection as predicted The antibiotics usually start working quickly so hopefully he'll be feeling better by tomorrow.

WRT to how much Nina drinks, she's getting the right amount, she only has 4 feeds a day (6am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm give or take an hour for each feed). The nurse at the clinic and the paed have always told me (even with Oliver) to work on the calculation of body weight x 150mls and then divide it by the number of feeds she has a day to get (as a rough guide) how much she should be taking at each feed. She's just over 7kg (that's the size of an average 6month old) so the calculation comes to 1050mls of formula. Now they all say babies can't have more than a litre of formula a day because it can damage their tummies/kidneys etc so I make up 4 x 240mls bottles a day and she consumes anywhere between 800-1000mls. She was close to the 1000mls most days on the S26 but moving to the Isomil she's been drinking between 800-900mls. That's why I say I'll HAVE to start her on solids soon because she can't have any more formula and she's getting hungry in between feeds. I had the same problem with Oliver, he couldn't have any more formula but because of his size he needed more so I had to start giving him cereal early...

Lisha - Shame man, I hope you feel better soon! Its the pits being sick. I'm also feeling lucky having my mum here, she helps loads with the cleaning etc, going to really feel it when she leaves

Ankia - Are you hoping for a boy or a girl? Glad all is going well with your pregnancy.

Vix - Lucky you with the kitchen, it will be worth the wait and hassle. We must still organise a get together, are you free anytime next week? I'm more than happy to drive to you And thanks for the heads up on the constipation, she had a poo yesterday and it was a little bit harder but hopefully its just from the change over and we won't have any major problems. The probiotics seem to help I think...or maybe its just coincidence lol but I'm not taking her off them just in case!!

Simone - It must be kak taking meds that make you feel sick, hopefully if you drop the dose it'll lighten up a bit.

Yoza - Good luck with the weaning, hope Buhle makes a smooth transition. And I'm with the other ladies, tell DH not to complain unless he wants to take over lol!!

Nicole my mum & I were meant to sort our Shrey's toys on Saturday as well but never found the time. Need to get rid of all the stuff he isn't using.

Yoza good luck with the weaning. I agree with Simone your dh should only complain if he grew a pair of boobs lol. Anyway hang in there and hope she gets over it soon.

Nicole I am very fortunate for now in that my mom is at home and does all the cooking and she cleans up during the day as well. When I get home I only feed Shrey his supper and I do supper dishes and if I'm feeling lazy supper dishes go into the dishwasher lol. Kind of spoiled at the moment hey

Ag not being very productive today Feeling far too miserable to do much grrrr.

Well I am 13 weeks today and still feel nauseas
I hope that I could stop die pills, but I would rather wait

Had a scan on Saturday and it was great. Maryke explained everything so nicely and after taht went for the downs blood test, and will get that back later in the week.
Maryke guessed the gender to be a girl, but we are going for a scan again on the 02nd of April and then she will confirm.
I still however feels it is a boy.

I do read all the post, but just seem that I do not get time to reply to all.

Helen my cousin had her baby on 25/11 and she is also a big girl...weighing around 7kgs now...and her mom only gives her 120mls at a time. I feel sorry for her though cause I can see she's still hungry..so she could push to 150mls maybe, but its not my child and my cousin is insistent.

Yoza good luck with the weaning! Tough time...but you'll get through it and so will Buhle! lol @ hubby....tell him to grow a pair of boobs and then he can complain about the weaning!

Vix I am so excited for your mom moving closer...just hope she is more helpful than after the tweenies birth Hope you get some YOU TIME/YOU AND E TIME/YOU AND WHATEVER TIME YOU WANT! Kitchen sounds like its going to be a long process...but sooo worth it! Cant wait to see the pics;-) Hope you dont mind me asking...how is your sister coping now?

Mandy I am going to drop my dose to 500mg twice a day. I feel rotten after the 1000mg in the morning...I am nauseous the whole time...really unpleasant. Hope it wont hurt me too much to lower the dose...maybe 500mg in morning and then 1000mg after supper. I take it late at night so I'm rather sleeping when I would be feeling crappy.

Vix: For the life of me when i saw the jazz i just though of you. Regarding the birth weigh siba was 2,4 , he lost his weight to 1,9 after 20 days he was 2,4 again and afterwards he gained 200 - 300g every week.

helen: Buhle only drinks 150ml milk nover gave him more. I sould have warned my MA bills have gone up ever since the lil madam arrival. Im always paying. Thsie week i need to pay about R3000 of MA fees including last years.

ladies this week i started weening buhle of the breast I used the aloe plant. I she cried so much at nght wanting her boobie but it tasted so bad. this morning when i offred the breast she refused. wish me luck. Needless to say DH is upset with me for weaning buhle of the breast.
