Dylan peed in his potty on his own yesterday. Just found pee in it and I asked him and he looked all chuffed. He is quite good really. He throws things away properly and cleans after he messes.


Yesterday I walked into the lounge and was greeted by Dylan who said, Morning honey. flip was too cute.

We had a nice but tiring weekend. Made the mistake of putting Shrey to bed too early last night because I was tired and he was awake since 5am, putting his fingers in my ears, tugging at my earring etc ... just annoying me in general!!! He didn't want my mum to change him after she bathed him this morning because he knew we were leaving for work shortly lol he even told her to go to the naughty corner and we haven't even used it since that one day last week

New year's eve was pretty quiet for us too. DH & my bil's were having whisky & nobody else wanted to drink Cosmo's with me so I just had 2 and then I had a runny tummy almost around midnight so I called it quits with the drinks but covered up with my cousins on new years day.

Yesterday mum & I were exhausted by the evening. We woke up early and she started cooking & I did the cleaning. Had il's & my sisters etc over for lunch.

Shrey has been good most of the weekend, with maybe one or two tantrums. Saying cute things and just being cute and affectionate in general. No potty training this side and he still doesn't seem ready. My child wants a diaper on all the time. He refused to put his costume on without a swimmers diaper so .....

Also lots of babydust to all you brave ladies who will be trying for their next baby this year xxx. Sorry I didn't pop in over the weekend to wish all of you but time was scarce and my BB is annoying me these days.

Vix OMW I had a cold shiver reading your post about Jono's alarm going off. I'm so pleased you were calm and handled the situation so well.
Re Alex & not wanting the boob now if you can still express and bottle feed them then I say go for it, they will still be getting the goodness of breastmilk.
I totally agree with Julz that you should rather get someone to help out at home if you can. I know you're not fond of the idea of a stranger in your home but at least you'll know the kids will still not have the extra germs etc. Good luck with the decision.

Julz sorry about Dylans episode, hope he doesn't do something like that again, shame poor boy must really have been totally scared.

Those mini cars are awesome. DH wanted to get that for Shrey for his second birthday but I said he must wait till he's 3 them maybe he'll be able to drive it on his own. Sure Addy will love it.

Morning ladies

We had a good night but Dylan woke at 11 in a complete fit. He gets night terrors but this was different. He did repspond to us and screamed and wanted the light on and was clearly upset and he kept on holding his chin so maybe a bad dream about his cut on his chin or something. Anyway he eventually calmed down and was too sweet and told me he was scared and he went back to sleep. Horrible to see them going crazy like that. He wasn rolling all over the bed and hitting us and screaming!!!

Simone the car sounds like a great idea! Now that is worth spending money on. we watched toy story 3 yesterday and I think dylan prefers woody????

He had his first day in new class and it went much better!

Vix I totally agree with you regarding keeping c home. I have seen it alot lately with friends that have a toddler and then a new born and the toddler gets sick at school and it starts this cycle of illness that never ends! It is going to be really hectic, but maybe you should consider getting someone to help at home rather so that you don't need to do all of that too.

You are right. Our paed said all of these meds that you buy to protect them just produce expensive pee. Fine if you can afford it but the truth is that some kids just get more sick than others! We have been fairly lucky with dylan. It also depends on how strict the school is when it comes to illness. Verna was really strict so illness didn't spread much.

Most paeds say you should keep lo at home until age 3 if you can and then it is really important that they go to school. I recon you should see how it goes and if you are really struggling maybe look at a very small school for just a few hours a day.

As far as the shields go, our bf consultant isn't a fan of them and says they should be used in extreme situations. Just make sure that there is no sign of thrush in Alex's mouth. Dylan did that when he had a mouth problem. It isn't a problem if you have to put him on a bottle. You are still feeding breastmild so you are doing really well.

Simone- I'll try and remember to ask Elwyn to take a pic before I go. Well done on the dry night, Addy really has done exceptionally well.

Nicole- don't worry, since asking to poop in the toilet the other day C hasn't asked to have his nappy off once so K isn't the only one making once off surprises.

After fighting with Alex to drink the whole night I tried a nipple sheild this morning and he eventually drank a little. But I don't know if it's the wrong size or what but my nipple only goes half way into the sheild and so he's chomping on the end of my nipple. Anyways I find the nipple shield to bve highly impractical so if anyone has ever successfully used them I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong. If he will only ever drink through a nipple sheild then I'm going to put him on a bottle too and just express for them both, I really don't have the time to mess about when I have 2 to feed especially when I'm on my own at home. I can't think what is suddenly wrong because he has been drinking perfectly for a month then suddenly 2 days ago he starts this sh1t.

Elwyn is stressing about me coping with all 3 when he goes back to work and he mentioned putting C in a creche but I have a few issues with that, firstly we really can't afford creche fees on top of all the other extra expenses like MA nappies etc but also I don't want him going to creche and getting sick all the time, I really don't want the twins on antibiotics before they're 1 at least and I just know C is gonna pick up every sickness going (and no, I don't believe creche guard stops them getting sick, maybe it stops a common cold but it isn't going to stop chest and ear infections, pink eye, tonsilitis and all those other contagious things) then I'll have to keep him at home when he's sick which will be even worse than keeping a healthy child at home full time. Do I really just sound hard ass or is there someone who can see what I'm talking about?

Mandy i`m with Vix. U did take it very well to look at the positive of your dad`s words. Seeing as (in my opinion) u don't have that much weight to lose, I'd seriously consider a dietician then.

Okay so night one of panty went well! Addy woke at about 5:20 and asked me to put a nappy on? I asked her if she wanted to wee and she said no. I didn't wanna push the issue so just put it on. She then fell asleep for another 20 minutes or something:-( seeing as G let me sleep yesterday I got up with her! So annoyed though...earliest wake up in forever! But ya...bed was dry as a whistle so a successful first night:-)
