Oct/Nov 2008 mommies!

Vix, I also had trouble the first 2 days bonding with them when I couldn't hold them but the moment they went into the incubators and I could feed them and change them I really started loving it.

There were twins that were born at 24 weeks next to us and they only weighed 900g after being in there for 5 months already when the my twins were born. And those parents were so incredible. They came in like 10 times everyday. I felt to sorry for them. They had to be resucitated ALL the time. It was terrible.

So I started my friday off with a nice root canal. Fun! Not! Now just waiting to get measured and then I'm going to Dischem and Game. ANd then I need to come make Spaghetti with meatballs for dinner. My aunt and them are coming and they have requested it. So not in the mood to cook!!!

Vix I can't begin to imagine how hard it must be to have a baby in Nicu.

Angie how scary indeed. So CJ joins the stitches club. Dylan also on the chin! Glad he is okay now. Sorry that your plans have changed.

Jessica bryce sounds so cute. Dylan is also a plane fan!!!

Not sure about his school at the moment. I am not too happy with his teachers. There are three for his class of about 12 kids which is great but not sure they are as friendly and kind as his previous teachers so hopefully he will move to the next class at the beginning of the year.

That is the only problem with sending your kid to the most awesome daycare. No creche will ever measure up after that which isn't fair ont he creche as it is wonderful and warm and loving, but not a 'home' environment that he is used to.

Dylan is such a funny dude these days. So cute. We understand more and more of what he says now. I call him the little dictator as he is very very bossy. Hmmm wonder where he gets that from.

I can't wait for the meet on Sunday!!!

Angie thats terrible !Poor little CJ - Glad you guys got there so quickly! These falls happen in SPLIT seconds hey! Hope he is feling better today and glad nothing is broken!

Vix - shit man.. NNICU sounds hectic. Glad you and Elwyn are fitting together so well, where you are busy healing, he can bond with baby in NNICU - your time will come. I completely get your feeling of not having that closeness and intimate bond with Jonathan yet, but as soon as you can be left alone with him on your chest, that journey will start. Keep telling us your stories

Ah Vix i have tears in my eyes when i read your post!! You are such a strong woman, and through your posts i can feel how much you love your boys, i can understand how hard it must be to see your little baba with tubes, but soon enough he will be in mommies arms. I am so pleased Alex is doing so well and both boys are beautifull!! Lol at C doing what he pleases at his grandparents home, glad he is happy to.

Angie omw so sorry to hear about CJ's bad fall, i would have been hysterical as well if i saw K will blood all over crying uncontrollably. Yay on being able to go on holiday.....enjoy .

Helen sho that baby is happy to be in his/her mama's tummy!!! Glad you are feeling so calm and patient about everything.

afm: we are all okay on this side. K has become so affectionate, always giving hugs and kisses, and wow is speech is totally amazing he repeats EVERY single word basically, so we really got to be carful what we say around him.

We went to Reggies yesterday and bought K the buzz rider as well as this toy puppy that barks, walks etc, i know he is going to love this. We just going to get him a drum set and that will be it for Christmas. Going to get him a few pairs of pjs and casual clothes for Creche.

Helen - you still holding out! WOW I'm impressed!

Nothing much new from my side, literally taking each day as it comes as I'm only getting up in the morning to get to 17 Dec when I go on leave at last, its only up until 5 January when Bryce's school opens again but at least I can rest a bit and spend some quality time with the family.

Bryce is fascinated with planes & helicopters - every time one flies over the house he runs outside, points to the sky & said "kyk hoe vlieg hy!" So when I'm on leave I'm going to take him to Menlyn for a flip in the Helicopter for R200 - I think he'll thoroughly enjoy that!!

LOL he was such a character yesterday morning when we left the house - I've been explaining to him that school is almost finished then we'll be on holiday for Christmas and we can go do fun things while on holiday. This morning we get in the car and smarty-pants says from the back "nie skool toe nie, Bryce klaar skool. Gaan ouma toe". (in English he said not going to school, Bryce finished with school, we're going to ouma) I laughed so much, it was just too cute!!!!

what else did I want to tell you guys about? I know there was something but for the life of me it escapes me now??

Ara - sorry about the HG dilemma - honestly I've always used Pampers and been very happy with them. Bryce uses the Pampers Big-boy pull-ups during the day in between wearing his undies & using the loo - and at night I put him in a size 5 Pampers and no leaks.

vix - when lea was in ICU the 1st time I saw her I couldnt look at her or touch her brett kept stroking her saying look how beautifull she is where as i felt guilty as to putting her there - the start of being a mother and taken all their burdens - also in the 6 days she was in I spent most in my room talking to my roomie - her twins was also in ICU - the dads would come in gush over babes and us 2 would laugh and joke in room easier than to look at them suffering I guess once I could breastfeed I felt more attached but then she got jaundice and they said for times sake to go bake to tubefeeding so once again only spent necesary times in there - never stayed for feed - brett was in there much longer than me anyhoe just sharing

ok so groound breaking news coming to cptw in jan (suster offered to pay for lea) so girls got to meet??????? I am open to dates so lets get planning!!!

Hi ladies,

SORRY for being MIA - but like Julz I've had the most crappiest 2 days ever.

Firstly the new company DH is starting at - moved the engagement date to the 1st of Feb, so I had to make a million phone calls to cancel everything that was planned for the end of this month....
In a way we are relieved as it gives us a bit more time to do everything we need to, and know we are going on holiday again YIPEE - so I guess it's not that bad!

Then when I drove home on Wednesday afternoon, my car broke down... it just stopped in the middle of the road - I couldn't get hold of DH as he was in meeting, and the people behind me got so irritated as I couldn't move out of the way!!!!!!! I hate it when drivers are so impatient! NOBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stopped to help me, I felt extremely alone, then eventually I got someone to give message to DH and he came, the car had to be towed in, and taken to garage - the qoute came to R 4000.00 that we have to pay in - so not very amused by that!

We had a terrible night with CJ on Wednesday - he just did not want to sleep - and decided to got to bed after 12:00 - I was soo tired yesterday, and THEN.... I got a SMS from nanny to say that CJ fell very bad - when I phoned he was screaming like someone was trying to kill him, I phoned DH to go so long, as he is closer to home than I am.. when we got there it was just blood everywhere - I nearly fainted when I saw my poor child, he was crying hysterically and we rushed him to the ER - the DR's couldn't calm him down, at this time, blood was still coming, they eventually decided to sedate him - guys I was so scared and totally lost it, as I have never seen CJ cry so badly and the blood, he looked so scared even typing this I am tearing up, as to me it was a very bad experience seeing my child lying there so helpless. Well, he had a big gush on his chin - got 3 stiches, as he fell from the couch on one of his toys - the dr also says his nose is badly bruised - not broken luckily, they took X-rays etc and no breaks or fractures. He slept with us last night as he was still a bit teary and moaning, he was still sleeping when I left this morning.

Today I am leaving at 12:00 - hoping to take a nap!

VIX - your two sons are beautiful - Jono is soo small! Your post had me in tears this morning, I can just imagine how hard it must be to see your baby with all that tubes! Well done on being so strong, you really handle things with such calmness - you really inspire me!!!! LOL on C having a good time at his gran - kids get away with everything with the grandparents!!!

Lisha - Shrey is absolutely adorable!!!!!! I love is hair! He is going to look awesome at the wedding! Enjoy all the wedding festivities!

Julz - sorry for your bad day! Hope you got better sleep last night!

Helen - OMW that baby is really hanging on hey! Glad your doctor is letting nature take its course!!!
