Oct/Nov 2008 mommies!

C is doing really well by mums, mainly because he can do as he pleases, I have received countless nude pics of him doing different poses from wearing sunglasses to sleeping naked on his dudu so life sounds pretty great for him right now. They even goim to poo on the potty yesterday which is something I haven't even tried to do yet becausI'm scared I'll upset his fear of pooing but they were so proud of themselves and so they shuld be! Looks like a week at grannies house has done the world of good. Also my mum said to me, she had taken for granted how easy it was to do such simple things like hang washing cook dinner etc because now you have to consider C everytime. I think it's done her the world of good to realise just how much I have to cope with!

Mum is probably going to come stay with us as long as I can get a bed for her to share C's room. Elwyn has to work next week and I still need to come in to NICU to drop off milk and see Jonathan which isn't going to work if I have no baby sitter for C and Alex. Hopefully only for a week, Elwyn goes on leave the following week and hopfully Jono won't be in here too much longer after that. I suppose I need someone to help cook and clean bevause I was a little un prepared on the home front.

I expressed for Jonathan yesterday and they gave it to him at 2pm. Because he's tube fed he doesn't taste his feeds so they put a small amount of millk on his lips so he can associate the full tummy feeling with the taste and smell of milk. The sister said when she put the BM even close to his face he started going mad, she dropped a bit on his lips and he was hysterical, she had to pick him up (which I have no idea how they do with all those tubes) and calm him down because he smelt my milk and just wanted me instantly. That was sweet, it's amazing how they sense you, when I go there and start talking he starts to get all agetated obviously he recognises the smell and sound of me. (As I type this I think this is the first time I have actually become emotional about him, I haven'rt had a single tear so far and now I'm balling)

I think because I am getting to go home with one baby it kinda takes the harsh knock off of the reality of leaving one behind. I have a funny way of dealing with emotional battles and I have noticed I only go into NICU to drop milk off take a quick peek and run. My DH on the other hand is in there all the time kissing and stroking Jonathan and talking to him. I find that really hard and not because it makes me sad, I just find it hard to relate that that is my baby laying there. It's quite difficult to explain and it's not that I don't love him just as much.

I only got about 3 hours sleep last night and then had to go to an appointment, but had to print things and ran out of ink so went early to shop and locked keys in car! Then I got home and ink cartridge was faulty so off to get another one so only got to Somerset west late which is a long drive so only got home late and I am bushed. Going to walk to fetch Dylan now.

He did okay today. still cried but a little less I think.

Thanks for all the compliments on my little guy. Hope he is so accepting of it on the day. We washed the shirt this morning just to soften the collar so hopefully he'll be a bit more comfy.

Vix I'm very pleased that Alex is now latching on. Please ignore all these people putting pressure on you and you do things at your pace and do what you know is best for you & your babies. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
Hope C is having a good time with his gran. Sure he is missing his mum & dad & baby brothers though.

Helen I'll be thinking of you and checking all my mails to see if anything sudden happens over the weekend. In the meantime take it easy and hope Oliver feels better before baby comes.

Ara- before I forget, I spoke to the HG lady and she said a lot of people were experiencing leaks but actually when they went down a size at night it helped so try a 4+ at night and see, she says they're coming up bigger than the old style.

Lisha- Shrey is adorable in his wedding suit! I love the scruffy hair look!

Yoza- great that Buhle is saying mama, congrats!

Helen- ouch, sorry to hear poor Oliver is suffering with his ears. C is the same, you would never know there was anything wrong. I have heard that a star gazer is more painful to birth but that most do turn actually and your Dr seems pretty confident. Nice to have such a great Dr especially to give you time to feel ready and get oliver better too. Never ever did I imagine I would be sitting here with my babies before you got your LO! That's kinda weird!

I was trying to load pics this morning but I just think the reception here is too little for Moomie ideally so only a few things come through

Alex is finally feeding from me after a few fights with the ward sisters. They are insisting I feed him every 3hrs because he's prem but he just won't wake up. Eventually I let him sleep on my chest for an hour and suddenly he started asking for boob and although he didn't take much at first he did latch and suckle. I continued the cuddling/feeding routine and now he just fed again on both boobs. Feeling much better since I decided to say screw you to the advice of the nurses.

O.k eyes are busy fading again so I'll say bye for now xxxx
