Oct/Nov 2008 mommies!

Just found out that my little cousin (5) is completely deaf in her left ear and slightly deaf in her right. My aunt is in a complete state. They don't know a lot right now but they are taking her to the Ear Institute on Thursday.
I feel so sorry for them. For a while now I've thought there's something wrong with her because she doesn't speak very well but I always felt so bad saying something. She's apparently going to get an implant in her right ear but that's as much as I know. The only good news I had for them is that one of my best friends' brother's found out he was deaf at 3 and back then there was nothing they could do for him. And he is now 22, had like 75% average in high school, went to normal schools and he is one of SA's best Junior Swimmers. He now studies at TUKS and is completely leading a normal life. I'm going to get my aunt to phone his mom coz at least she knows what my aunt is going through.

Just had to come tell you girls, I feel so sad for them. As a parent, you don't want anything wrong with your child so even if there's a silver lining, you don't want to see it because the news is so devastating.

Re Truworths don't despair about closed account .... every top I look at is over R280 ... for so little fabric WTF!!! Last weekend when I walked in I just browsed and left because I couldn't justify those prices

Here I am Lisha!!!

Have been hectically busy at work and on the home front.

i really miss you guys but hardly have the time to catch up on Facebook and here on moomie.

anymore news....I know that simone is TTCing or did I miss something and you are pregnant already??

I know I missed some of the kids birthdays too!!! But i am sure that they all had lovely days.

Cole is well and talking a lot. uses the potty sometimes and is still small compared to other 2year olds but the paed said I should not worry as he is fine.

Had my mirena taken out yesterday BUT I am really not TTCing. Just wanted to get it out because it was starting to become too uncomfortable...

anyway, lots to catch up on...

Nicole the temp drops at night and the "tubes" in the lungs become cold (apparently) hence the coughing with asthma. Coughing early hours of the morning are a symptom, but obviously not the only cause. I researched it becuase that is the only time dylan coughs.

Okay I am convinced. All new borns look the same. Gorgeous.

Angie I was doing the same thing yesterday...looking at the pic of Addy on the scale after she was born, etc. Making me so terribly broody as well.
