Morning Mommies.'

Yay moomie is working again :)

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Really enjoyed mine even though it was so busy. Friday night DF decided he wanted to suprise me with a fondu setup, but as he was unwrapping beef strips he noticed that they were off (gross) so anyway thought the whole thing was cancelled so i went of to bath K and then sat with him for 15 min until he fall asleep, when I walked through the lounge DF had set up a table nicely with candles and lovely wine. :) was very romantic, he ended up ordering Guido's which i love, had a yummy cheddermelt steak.

Saturday i spent vacumming and steaming the carpets, matresses etc and did loads of washing.

Sunday we went to the mall to try find a bed for K but ended up first looking for a dress for the flower girl as the one i initally wanted didnt fit nicely, she was very uncomfortable, then i found a perfect dress at some little boutique which she looks absolutly lovely in. Dress cost R300 which thought wasnt bad at all, all in the budget. Didnt end up fighting a bed for K, so will go next weekend to look for a low single bed , then I will just buy these side railings baby boom sells.

Leigh the cake is lovely, but you are right very busy, but also very eye-catching.

K was not so aggressive this weekend, it seems its on school nights that he is at his worse. I called DF grumpy this morning, so afterwards i said to K, where is grumpy and he runs looking for DF shouting "umpy umpy" lol.

Okay let me get back to work, going to be a very busy week for me!

Hi Yoza, I can’t measure up to Ally’s cooking yet, not when she’s earning thousands lately showing off her cooking ;)

I saw that HEY YOU Mandy B 
Vix, yes, money for Christmas would be great. Am trying to get a Christmas catalogue of stuff together but the brain just isn’t there yet.

Lwasi, hope you’re feeling better now.

Thanks NicoleP – I have some of my last years customers returning which is nice, it gives you a bit of confidence. Spose not everyone wants a cake every year....just the special ones. New orders coming in all the time. Was hoping to take a step back at some stage – especially with looking after the boys from the beginning Sept. We’ll see how it goes.

So Lisha, next month I take the boys

Ha ha, thanks Helen, so I’m not the only nut who leaves the key in the box. I’m actually very happy – this little old lady (bless her) adopted me into checking her postbox and as much as I wanted to help her – my life is just hectic as it is. So now she’s found someone else. Every other errand was being added to the postbox, driving me a bit potty.

Helen, 15 weeks to go, am betting time will fly a bit and then slow down a bit towards the end.

Angie, go on, bake a cake for just sommer ;) I have had a couple of responses from my Moomie ad – a lot I get from gumtree and then that directs them to my facebook photos. Keen to try something different at some stage – I have attached a photo of a cake a lady does – from Flickr – and I like her style. Although I’m a plain and simple – I just love the busy-ness of this cake.
Nicole, R500 is not a bad price – as long as its for both the layers . Ooooo how exciting that its less than a month. I know someone who kept a tier from their wedding cake for the christening cake – and ended up needing an chain saw to cut it......

Lelani, sorry to hear about the wisdom teeth – I had mine taken out years and years ago.

Vix, sadly booze does push the price up – and if it was fruit cake – thats expensive. I made some Christmas cakes last year and they totalled almost R250 to R300 if not more. Fruit is expensive.

Hi Zee, thank you. See in the baking industry I was told that you calculate your costs and double it. And I agree that on some cakes A LOT of work is put into it. I don’t like to rip people off unnecessarily – but all your comments are sinking into my head, promise. I’m just useless at this costing thing.

I don’t have much of a relationship anymore with my brother. Which is a pity because we used to be close at one stage. I just think sometimes people get married and life changes. I’m sure even I have changed. There’s been so much uphill lately surrounding family – I try to stay out of it but I hate to see my parents hurting sometimes – they get the brunt of it.

This weekend and last weekend I have been singing on stage for the church, and it feels REALLY good . The only way to be part of something is to get involved. I don’t want to just be a pew warmer.

Anyway some of the people at my church think I should be baking a cake for my birthday on Sunday – but does it make sense that I don’t feel like cake??!???!?!?!?! Would rather love a homecooked meal.
Still deciding what to make for DH’s work for his birthday cake. He first said I must make for 50 and I told him no way.
Kids have driven us MAD this weekend. C has been throwing tantrums, R is wingey and E, well E is just too cute. Funny one – I changed her on Friday morning into her clothing and forgot to put on a nappy on her – only realised after she peed down her trousers. I’m losing my marbles.
Having roast chicken for supper. Have been trying to get organised with calendars for cakes, calendars for meal planning – must try and get back on the diet again – have almost picked up what I initially lost – my only cope method on stress at the mo is eating but I must change that – otherwise I’m going to be unhappy Christmas time when I can’t wear nice summery clothes and I’m sweltering.
Having a book stuck under my nose by E, I’m off.

(Just so you know, this isn't my cake but I just love the BUSY style this person does, isn't it cute?)

MOrning mommies. K was alot better (aggression) last night but however his teacher said that if he gets upset at school (if someone takes his toy) he ends up hitting who is ever close to him  Apparently he was put in the "naughty corner" for the first time TWICE yesterday. But anyway she still rekons his a good boy and her favourite lol :) Also apparently he loves trying to escape into the toilets and tries to put his hands in the toilet bowl EEEKKK GROSS!!

Leigh wow girl I would really put your prices up R450 for that beyond stunning cake????

Vix sorry about you horrible night, To be honest I have just given up to K and he has about 100 mls of milk at about 03:00! bad parenting proberly but at the moment, just feel so frustrated. DF cannot handle being distrubed through the night so was thinking maybe from next week I will move in with K into his room and try implement sleep training there. GOOD LUCK FOR GYNE VISIT!! Cant wait to hear the news and see the pics

Hi Zee, wow you have really been busy! Hope you find time to have some rest this weekend. We also havent had anyone babysit K since i think March this year. Very tiring at times. But my mom might stay over next weekend and then will watch K the night of the wedding.

So cute K does all the moves to the song the wheels on the bus, he does the wheels, the people go up and down, the wipers on the bus, and the horn on the bus, its so freaking cute.

Ally i dont see anything wrong with your situation, often my brother and i would joke up sex etc, you have been your brothers guidence for many years now so there is no reason why he wouldnt talk to you, so i dont see any thing wrong with it personally :)

Hi mommies,

Nicole so glad that you are having such sweet moments especially before the wedding, your DF is sweet indeed. About the aggression Amu is also starting to be like that but not too much the only thing he does is throw tantrum and throw himself on the flor head first. but the naughty corner seems to be working for me in that regard.

Lelanie your excitement on Chanel's new school is rubbing off on me, wow I am happy for you and your DH.

Hi everyone

I'm still alive and I really miss you guys. I guess things will slow down a bit now, I completed my Unisa assignments this week - only have two more for the rest of the year. Yay.

Ja, I still haven't gotten to actually buying the magnesium, will go to the pharmacy tomorrow. We had a really bad night with Z, so I heard her crying in her room and DH went to get her. She was hysterical, he brought her to our bed and she throwed herself on the ground and was inconsoloble. It felt like ages before she eventually calmed down. Being the paranoid freak that I am, I'm beginning to wonder if our resident ghost has appeared in her room ... Okay, so maybe I read too many books.

IN any hoo, busy weekend coming up, going to a function this afternoon, having some friends over for a braai tomorow, etc etc.
I really feel for you girls who don't have any baby sitters around. My MIL is in Australia at this moment and my mom hasn't been well for a while to look after Z so ja ...
:S

Ally, I don't have that kind of relationship with my brothers but I do think it is great that you two can talk about everything. I don't see a problem at all. He obviously looks toward you for guidance so that's great .

Lelani, so happy for you, glad you found a great school.

Nicole, sounds as if the wedding arrangements are coming along nicely.

Leigh, I agree I really think you can up the prices of the cakes. Your cakes are stunning.

Vix, hope you get some rest between all the work.

Helen, great about Oliver being able to help himself in the swimming pool. Really want to look into lessons.

Yoza, please let us know about Siba. Good luck.

Mandy, how is Cam now?

Chat you soon ladies, sorry for all the posts I missed. Really miss you all. Hope you have a great weekend!
Z
