I also wish to get my ducks in a row for christmas - even though not expecting - its nice to be organised early - we are off to Danabaai for christmas with DH's family.....I say nuttin.

Nicole, the cake looks great. If its just sponge I hope you're not paying more than R1000 for it.....so exciting (as your dh says)

Poor Vix, can imagine it would get uncomfortable earlier with twins. Thoughts are with you. THink we should all sleep on our right side as sympathy

Was DH's birthday yesterday, he had pizza for lunch (bought by me) and a steak braai last night at my parents.

Fewer cakes this weekend, kinda glad, need a break every now and again.

Lisha I feel you, its so hard to drop of these kids in the morning and its even harder if they are being cute or upset.

Vix we wont be having fruit cake at the wedding, honestly both DF and I hate fruit cake lol, so it will be sponge.

Vix, I don't know of anyone that still has fruit cake as their wedding cake. All 12 the weddings we've attended in the last 3 years it was a different cake. Ours was chocolate with Vanilla & Hazelnut filling, my cousin had a 'cheese' cake (cheeses stacked on each other), my friend had giant meringues and all the others were normal sponge. My aunt bakes the best fruit cake though so I'm going to ask her for her recipe so I can bake one in time for Christmas. Yay!!!

so living on pain meds for now
