Oct/Nov 2008 mommies!

Hi all!

Leigh- wow, that cake looks good! I have no idea where you find the time or energy to make so many cakes in such a short space of time, it sounds exhausting.

The meet was nice but I always walk away feeling like I didn't get to chat to everyone. Pappachinos is a nice child friendly resturant but I still don't feel like I can just relax, I feel like I have to run behind C all the time and see him at every second. Maybe next time we should consider going to the zoo or something where we can walk around with the kids and chat whilst we walk? Or start hosting the meets at people houses (those who have big enough houses or gardens) October is going to be full of birthday parties so between now and the maybe end Aug/begining of sept we should organise another meet.

I have got some pics on my camera, mainly just the group ones and a few of the kids.

Leigh, I'm with you on the food pricing thing. I'm already struggling to figure out how much to charge my friend. But I will definitely not be doing myself in, that's just not worth it. I'll try not to be outlandish with my prices but if people want quality they have to know they'll pay for it.

Vix, I still wanted to say, I will definitely be doing disposables. I don't want to have to hang around to fetch platters etc. If people want the food on platter they can supply their own.

The meet was lovely. Like Mandy said, Abi was on her own mission climbing the jungle gym and going down the big slide all by herself. And it's the first time she's ever been on one so I was quite chuffed. Aidan was a bit more hesitant and he wanted to be by me a lot although he also played nicely. They really loved the pizza making and I bought it home for daddy to eat. He was very proud and happy that his kids made him something hehe.

They've been sleeping since 1. Will wake them in a little while. Went to Spar quickly to get all the other stuff for our trip. Man the bill came to R2200 for 1 trolley. ANd that's not even all our cold drinks, diary stuff, vegetables and fruit. EISH! But my dad told me to go to Spar so I do as I'm told.

SO tomorrow I've got the christening. Damn I have to get up at 7h30 and I have to make sure I do my hair tonight so that I can just get dressed, do make-up and go. C and I still need to decided if we're going for a movie or just lunch. I think I'm in the mood for Adega's but it gets so freakin expensive. We'll see tomorrow I guess.

I took 200 photo's today so I'll load them on facebook just now.

Hello - well a great but very busy meet! Nelria looks fab and so well adjusted to 2 and Xen is just tiny - hardly got to see him. With my cold, i stayed FAR away, and he was wrapped up in lots and lots of blankies passed from one broody mom to the next!

Vix, Jessica and Helen - our preggy moms all looked fab and yes i think vix looks the same size at 14 weeks as Helen at 20 weeks! Both looking too gorgeous!

Ally is looking much slimmer and her two kiddies were just amazing - we didnt see Abi after she found a personal nanny to run around after her on the playground on the jungle gyms and slides! abi kept on wandering back to mommy wondering why he couldnt sit on her lap!

Little leah and cam wont leave mommies side laterly so cam and leah hung around the mommies most of the morning! Funny how they are both attached to teddies and pull their tired and old looking softies around with them!! Too cute~!

Bryce liked the BIG BOYS playground and we hardly saw him at all - he has turned into a complete blondie and is looking tooooo cute!

Then Zee and Christi arrived a little later with little Iris and Ziani - Iris is like a tiny fairy! a perfect little princess walking around very quietly and very dainty smiling all the time! I hardly got to see little Ziani at all but she is looking like a real little modern lady and tall as can be like mom!

Oliver has thinned out and has a beautiful mop of hair! he and Christopher played on the metal cars on the jungle gym, Oliver liked to Drive and Christopher was too cute sitting in the back - like the back of the bakkie!! enjoying watching all the other kids make a fuss fighting over the wheel! Of course bratty cameron tried to push Oliver away from the wheel for a turn saying MINE! and Oliver Burst into tears reaching for mommy!

The weather warmed us for us nicely and the sun even came out.. Many of our kids had a turn making pizzas - Abi, Bryce, Aiden and Cam - Christopher and Iris - they all had a ball!!

Okay - so we did manage to take a few pics with all the different cameras - I Didnt take mine,

but im sure the gals will load a few.. and Julz we were sure to have one pic with all the mommies and babies for you guys not in JHB

Zee spoilt us with a few free mags for all! THANKS AGAIN!!

of course - it felt far too quick and Cameron was ready for a sleep..and off we had to go! I was probably there for about 2 hrs... and suddenly time was up! Wish it was longer and look forward to our next meet!!

Its Saturday afternoon, feeling a little tired after 2 flat out days of baking and decorating cakes, DH on the couch asleep, Nr 2 and 3 asleep, Nr 1 is out with Granny, and where am I???? On moomies website

I have realised why its so addictive here. Its like an ongoing question and if you leave the room to go to the toilet, come back and you've missed out on conversations

I am disappointed I have to say. I know everything is in Gods hands but when you wanted something really badly, its hard to accept. Anyway so we move on because if we don't we just wallow into misery and its just not worth it. DH is disappointed too but I think he kinda knew what was coming. Pity. I wish I could cheer him up with a big fat steak but its not on the diet agenda.

Which speaking of diet.....WHOOOOOOHOOOOOOO I lost 2.5kgs last week. I'm so impressed Yipppppppa daaaaa deeee deeeeeee.

Step back last night, Erin woke up a few times.....will anticipate the end of the antibiotics and then decide if there is still a problem. Still think it could be cold too...wish there were sleeping bags for this age. What does everyone else do for coldness besides heaters and babygrows. Does anyone actually manage to TUCK their 20 month old kids in???

Vix...will email you re recipe. I can't believe you can't find someone to do a last minute cake for you by the 31st. Heck, I've just done 3 cakes 3 days before required. But then I don't feel like I can say no really. I'm not keen on working through the night but I will up till 11pm. If I go further than that then I'm not much use to Erin the next day and its not fair on her.

Ally I wish we could set up business together...I love the idea of doing the whole catering for a party. I just don't know who's got the money for it these days. Plus I'm going to go into something bigger when Erin is in daycare I think, maybe by the end of next year.
The only thing is, and I don't know if you'll agree with me Ally, but food is hard to price up I have to tell you.

Anyway....thought I'd send you a pic of yesterdays cake. Hope no-one gets hot flushes, heh heh.

Morning all,

Just had to log in quickly whilst C is in the bath, my boy has the most enormous messy poop this morning it's just easier to bath him.

This moring DH and I woke up to our shoes on the bed. C had put my slippers by me and taken DH's work shoes and was busy putting them there by him, do you suppose it's a hint to get up? LOL love it!

Simone- woweee on the sleep through. I honestly think these babies have become un comfortable in their cots and sleep better in the bed because I really couldn't explain C's wakings but now it's once a night max and I now have a feeling the dog is waking him up!!!

O.k I must get ready for the meet.

Oh yeah, Simone PQ clothing outlet is a cheap store that. Sells other shops surplus stock, I find a lot of woolies babies clothes in there. It's not always nice stuff but if you lucky you'll finsd some bargains. They have Tops from R10 although they were a bit too floral for me so I bouth for R15, 20, 30 you can get some really nice sweaters in there for R50! I wish I knew what sexes we are having because they had loads of woolies babies baby grows for R20. But like I say, you really have to look at every rack to see if you like something but a really great place if you don't have much money but need new clothes. I haven't bought Jeans from there but they're anything from R60. We're lucky, we have 2 PQ's and they stock different things. I even noticed George clothes yesterday which is from the UK. there are 2 PQ's here

Well its been probably 48hrs since I've been on????? I didn't even peek...last time drill sergeant deck busted me when I popped in and had to be studying! Lol.

So just wanted to say hi and that I miss u ladies...tomorrow I'm plonking on couch and reading all posts on laptop....lovely!

Leigh so so so sorry about Frans. U are right though....at least he has a job and I swear nothing is better than salticrax with real butter! Not extravagant at all:-)

Lisha how is your fil doing? I know u said he was taking it hard? Studies suck!! So much to little time! Need to sleep now so I can get up early...to study some more...

Oh Vix I only hear about job in a week or so.

Ok I only glanced thru last page and did a few replies...will go back tomorrow to read other posts.

We had a miracle last night.....not only did Addy sleep 100% thru in her bed...she woke at 6:30am for milk and went back to bed and she slept til 8:20am!! I went on sleeping til 9am. the best night of sleep in ages! And that is a record late...previously was 8am when she was about 2w old! Lol.
