Oct/Nov 2008 mommies!

Nayeela this is also self-catering and we're going for a week.
The first 2 nights it's just C, the kids and me so I'm just going to do ribs and wedges one night and maybe soup the other night. Then when my dad comes we have pasta one night, lamb shanks one night and braai the last night. Then we do a big breakfast every morning and everyone just helps themselves for lunch. I'm so used to cooking for 6-8 every night that when it's just me and C it's like a dream coz it feels like I'm not even cooking lol.

But while we are there alone I'm just going to do my shakes during the day and give them twins what they normally eat. C can help himself.

Shame my brother badly sprained his ankle so he can barely walk. But I secretly love it coz I didn't have to get up early this morning. Slept till 8 which was needed coz C and I watched TV till 11h30 last night.

My friend, Nosipho, wants me to cater for a babyshower on the 31st. I wonder if I must do it. I have no catering experience but I'm sure I can handle a few snack things. Not sure though..don't know if catering is something I would want to go in to.

OK so the house has finally been registered!!! Now we gotta go to the municipality to get the account transfered...

Vix you must feel quite helpless with regards to your mom. Shame man. I agree she needs to keep quiet rather, but that means she has to suffer in silence which isn't easy.

Nayeela we usually do self catering too as it is cheaper and we like our own food. One can get tired of eating out. Whipstock does home cooked food though so nice. Not halaal though.

We also eat the same thing for a couple nights.

how long are you going away for Ally? sound like you got it all under control.

When we go away, most of the time we go to self catering (as we cant always find halaal places), anyways what I often do is I bring a couple of frozen meals which saves me on buying ingredients and cooking. Then I can also just put my feet up and not worry about dinner H is not too fussy so I dont have to cook meals from scratch on the same day everyday.

Vix - Hey there! Thats a nice feeling to have This morning I also felt like that. I have so many good things going on in my life and feel truly blessed.
I could not understand properly regarding your mom (I probably missed the story), but just wanna say that I hope she is safe and there is actually no one snooping around her house.

I am going on lunch now. DH has made toasted sandwiches and bringing them to my work so they are still hot

Nayeela, I have to wait for the twins to go down for their nap and then I can go. I'm just getting the meat today because I need to freeze it all and then all the dry goods I'll get tomorrow and the diary and fresh produce I'll get Monday before we leave. Oh shoot I still need to go to the pharmacy.

And why can't I see out of my glasses, could it be because they're caked with icing sugar and flour.

Erin woke up once at about 10pm....and then SLEPT THROUGH....bliss....though I'm not sure a train coming through our bedroom would have woken me up last night.

Right, run out of castor sugar and icing sugar, I'm off again!!!
