Ang I also enjoyed the closing ceremony. Especially the elephants and the music instruments that played on that screen. Very very cool! :)

Leigh that's what I spend a month on groceries also. Then my dad still comes home sometimes with some stuff and over weekends he also goes shopping so our bill is probably around R8000 a month. For 5 adults and 2 kids. Then my brother and SIL also come for dinner once a week.
And that's not even including the nappies etc.

Shoo I'm soo lazy tonight. Making a very plain bacon and mushroom pasta tonight. C should be happy, it's his fav. Going to see if this can't be one of my budget meals. For 4 it should work out to about R20 a head. And that's only coz I bought expensive pasta (Spigadora which is about R17 a pack of Fettucini). But I'm not going to use any cream.

Well maybe the best part of the ceremony was good but the end was certainly dull if you ask me.

Leigh- I'm sure you can get your grocery bill down a bit, do you write yourself a list before you go or do you just add to the trolley as you see? I find making list helps me to avoid putting extra things in, also I write rough costings on the right of my list so I know roughly how much spare I have for extras. Also take your calculator with, I used to feel silly but now I do it everytime. Sometimes I only spend R600 on all my dry and cleaning goods.

Ally love the chocolate pudding recipe! Yummmmm

And then from there went into PFairy's blog! Must say you are doing great and you site is very interesting!

So I have to go home tonight and tidy up the place a bit and also go and buy an ironing board as our house is currently invaded by creased clothing...It's cold here in CT so I guess doing the ironing will warm me up nicely! (I am really using any excuse to get myself to do the ironing  )

LOL Julz K does jump on couches and that but not to be ugly or anything their little boy was bit of a bully, he tried to bite K 3 times and me once, pushed K of the bike and went charging at him so i think K eventually felt a bit intimidated!

I didnt watch the closing ceromony...fall asleep

Simone yay what a relief!!!! FX over and over again for you!!!

We dont have a neubiliser either.

Our monthly groceries including all of K's stuff but excluding fresh produce we spend about R3200 a month, sometimes less if we catch the specials at PnP.

Leigh thanks..there is also Bakers Emporium which is in the Noble Park building, so just off voortrekker road. I usually go to that one as it's very close to my work and the cute old boere tannie usually gives me a lot of freebies.

Simone, glad the interview is next week and FX and TX for you.

speaking of interviews....Leigh, you better give your DH "Sumthing-Sumthing" for goodluck tonight or whenever you get to see him

I was actually very proud of the closing ceremony and really enjoyed watching it.I think we really have our foot in the door now when it comes to hosting big events like this again and I must say I really enjoyed the whole spirit we had going..can't talk about other places but everywhere in cape town was booming and I LOVED IT

Nicole I am glad that things are looking good wrt to the wedding and K will be fine.

Julz..LOL @ Dylan on the couches.. I was telling DH just yesterday I am already panicking about all the jumping around Cole will be doing at the next meet..a person will swear he has ants in his pants...

Julz- I didn't see much of it but at the end they are doing some formation dance (like gum boot dance thing) and they are all dressed in black and white (regular street clothing I might add) and it's not even brightly lit so you actually struggle to see the movements properly. Imagine if they did that dance in florescent colours with neon lighting wow, now that would've been impressive! And the ony difference would've been neon costumes instead of crappy street wear and a specific blue light to bring out the colour. Man I think the art director and costume designer should be shot! Sorry if anyone knows him or her LOL my small scale irish dance show had way better wow factor and it was only 40 dancers.
