Sigh....I think I'm going to have to go into shipping cakes countrywide :)

Nicole, do you have a picture of your wedding cake, would love to see it.

Angie, I buy stuff here there and everywhere. I buy my plastic icing from the Baking Tin in Bellville, I buy my icing sugar/castor sugar from The Bakers Bin in Parow on Voortrekker Road. And I buy my cake boards and baking nicknaks from Brackenfell. So here and there.

Butter I buy Rama or Stork. They alternate sometimes between specials of R12.99 and then I buy in bulk. I also buy my flour from where it is on special.

Thanks Enigma, they are little cherubs. I just love watching them growing, personalities changing. Also their personalities with each other. Charlene plays much with Renee but she's the OLDER sister when it comes to Erin. Erin loves fooling around with Renee and respects her older sister, just too cute.

Did someone say pancakes?

People talk so much about nebulisers - does every one have one worth R500 in their households???? I'd have to rob a bank....

Angie, you should try taking 3 girls out to pick and pay....aaargh, that would put you off shopping during the day and only become a night shopper.

I don't use cream in my recipes - I now use natural yoghurt where I can, works like a bomb.

I was on Ready Steady Cook once - as part of their audience. They were looking for someone to ask a question from the audience and I volunteered (you only get to do these things once). Ainsley is one of my favs too.

So when you guys meet, how many of there are you?

Bothasig, Cape Town
Mum of 3 girls - Charlene(6) 09/11, Renee (5) 10/04 and Erin (2 and 9 mnths) 16/11.
Moved back from the UK 2.5 years ago. Missing my friends. Full time job - Mum. Part time cake baker and decorator - love it.

Morning Yoza- Glad the babes are starting to get better, clever little Buhle sussing out the syringe!

Julz- you're so right, there's no need to be wasteful and spend money pointlessly on food that either goes off or goes to the dogs as scraps. Even the richest of people should probably re check their spending. I will always be like this even if I become rich, it's now ingraned in me LOL Babybear is my tool for bulk buying nappies! I don't really make much from babybear, in fact I sometimes wonder why I bother but I can make on average of about R500 per month profit which is perfect for bulk buying nappies or just treating us to some ice cream and cakes. It's my tool to be able to attend meets etc, without it I would feel bad asking Elwyn for cash to go spend on fuel and coffee for my meets. I was always so independant, even just earning a little bit extra for myself helps keep me sane!

Ally- I don't blame your dad at all, if I had a bit more money I would also like to buy mature cheddar and brie, mmmI've been craving brie. I used to always buy my cheese from woolies because it actually had a flavour LOL F&V is great for bulk buying and freezing veggies but yes their salads don't last long. It's not so bad for me because I can just pop out and get salad stuff on the day we need it but if I was a working mum I would also want something that lasted in my fridge.

Angie- glad the painting looks good! You'll probably be surprised when the curtains go up that the shade will match nicely! I think you've hit the nail on the head WRT why were such a great bunch, we have probably all saved money, time and plenty of sanity by having such a great mix of people to gain asdvice and ideas from.

Ally- I can't wait to see your budget dinner ideas!

Nelria- I forgot to say, it sounds like you guys are having so much fun as a family of 4 now? It sounds like Lea is so much easier now she has something to deflect her attention to!

I want an early night tonight after my bad one last night but it's ironing night in front of survivor. C has finally stated eating again for the first time in weeks, I'm not joking you when I say he would eat NOTHING some days, even ice cream or chocolate was a big no no. I see this morning the bottom incisors have cut the gums which will explain his new found appetite. Phew, maybe now I can get some rest if he eats dinner again!

I feel so tired today!

Lelani- how was your weekend friend? How are tensions at home? Missing you!

Nicole if he is eating I wouldn't stress about lack of variety ... Shrey will eat fish fingers, mac & cheese and rice without fuss. Anything else he just spits out  Oh and my child is king of NcDonald's chicken nuggets & chips, I someone sees him eating that they would think the child was being starved lol. He just can't eat that fast enough so he stuffs his mouth grrr.

Enigma shame poor Zaid having multiple accidents in one day ... but boys will be boys!!!

Yoza hope Buhle improves soon.

Thanks for all the saving tips ladies, definatly taking note!!

We usually do a large shop at the end of month we buy all of our dry goods, cleaning materials, K's stuff and meat for the month, then we buy fresh things (peppers, tomtoe etc) when we need.

Angie glad the renovations are coming on, lots of hard work but like Lisha said the end results always worth it :) Oh and shopping with K also exhausts me

Simone sending you a mircle and that things really work out for you soon!! you guys deserve a break!!

Apparently K's tummy hasnt worked all day, thank goodness. Hold thumbs the runny tummy is gone.

Ladies do your LO's have preference to foods? For example K will rather eat chicken nuggets than shredded chicken breasts, then he doesnt really eat any other meat besides mince and then fish once a week. I just feel like I am always feeding him the same thing over and over.
