Hi ladies

Kerry OMW that's insane!!! Can just imagine the total shock you must've felt at this sudden occurrence!
You sound so calm considering!!!
I did wiki the Bells Palsy after reading your post and if I understand correctly it should self correct itself over a fairly short time? The open eye is definitely an indicator that its this though? Shew hun what a hectic time!

Robyn wow that sounds like a very hectic time! Building house is definitely not for the meek! Awesome flooring nice!!! cant understand when ppl carpet over it! And awesome that there's a park right there!!! We also have a park 2 plots over from us, and its really nice to take K on the weekends or after work when its not too cold. Problem is getting her home afterwards :)
Wow time is really flying by for you!!! I bet ur looking forward to your time 'off'. I hear you about ppl forgetting ur pg second time around hey. But a friend of mine gave some advice which really hit home, that once number 2 arrives you have even less time for yourself so this is all just preparation for that! But do spoil yourself with massages and afternoon naps as often as is possible while you still can!!! BTW will Dakota stay at daycare while ur on maternity leave or will you have her home some of the time? I'm not sure what to do in that respect. Havent given it much thought!

Cols how r u doing?

Kaylee is at such an awesome age! She is a lot more sociable with other kids and settles in quite nicely in new environments as soon as she sees there's lots of new things to play with and I'm there with her. Talking lots and taking so much in we really have to watch ourselves! Touching wood here but bed time is also much easier. We spent about 6 solid weeks focusing on bedtime routine starting with a bath at 7:30pm and then getting changed, saying goodnight to everyone (which she now does totally on her own straight after being changed), gets read a story and then it's hugs and kisses and lights out. She will play around getting onto our bed and back into hers again every few minutes and we need to be on our bed during this but within 15 to 20 minutes she's asleep. She wakes anytime between 6:40 and 7:30 - but mostly once she hears me or DH waking up and sometimes she'll sleep through that but when DH comes in to say goodbye to me however quietly then she sits up bright eyed and all smiles to say goodbye to daddy.

Baby also doing well. Starting to feel movements a lot more now and hopefully this week DH will get to feel her too. I am 23 weeks now, and was 23 weeks when he felt K for the first time. Tummy growing nicely but still quite comfortable and some of my old pants still fits hehehe! But dont talk to me about my bra size lol my boobs are extremely full at the moment! I do have pelvic bone pain which I had with K too. I find sleeping with a folded pillow between my knees brings major relief, I dont know why I didnt do that last time! My next scan is only at 28 weeks which is 5 weeks time. I wont see gynae in July cos I saw him Mid June and the fetal specialist a week later so need to space the cost.
Scary to think that by then I only have to see him twice again for monthly scans and then twice for bi-weekly scans and then its due date!!!

Janine wow what a time you've had!!! Its awesome that u were put in charge after only 9 months. Wow to have Willem away for a week must be so strange for you! But I'm sure he's having an absolute ball on holiday :)

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Hi Ladies

Kerry - OMG, I am so sorry to hear about little K!!!
You are all in my thoughts and prayers
I can't imagine how scared you must have been!
Sterkte!

Things have been insane here - started the renovations on the weekend and already
some major issues with the kitchen plans and electrician, but all seems to have been
sorted out now - the mains board was right in the middle of the wall where we wanted
our chimney cookerhood, so we thought we would have to return it and buy another
small one (which would have completely changed the whole look & feel of the kitchen)
but then we also needed to upgrade the old mains board to allow for all the new appliance
we are adding,s o the electrician said we should just pay the extra R5000 and move the
whole board, so we get to keep our lovely extractor
We also found beautiful parquet flooring throughout the entire house ;)
But D loves the huge garden and the park across the road, so she keeps asking for the "hee-haw"
(see-saw)
Can't wait til we can finally move in!! (fingers crossed it will be 1 Aug :pinch:)
then to start planning D's 2nd birthday!
And D can now count to 10, and boy does she love to show you!!! (counting anything she can see)
so cute!!

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I've been MIA, again.
Been going hectic at work - my boss is away for two weeks, and left me in charge of the team (4 others)!! , and remember - I've only been working here for 9 months.
He gets back tomorrow - CANT WAIT!!!!

At least I'm getting a bit more rest at home now - been child-less for 4 days now :woohoo: :( Not sure how to feel, love the sleep and free time, but miss my baba!

At least he is enjoying himself - doesn't even want to talk to his mommy on the phone!

Will chat more once things have settled again at work.

Kerry, see on FB that K is sick :( - Hope she gets well soon

Okay so as most of you saw on facebook K spent her first night in hospital on Sunday night.

On friday night i thought the left side of her face looked a bit slackish but i thought i was imagining it... playing the over protective mom.

On saturday it was a little more obvious to me so i asked hubby if he saw anything hoping he would confirm my suspicion, but alas he thought maybe she was just a little swollen from teething or something.

Sunday, well she woke up and the whole side of her face was drooping... i thought maybe she was swollen near the nerve with teething and if it wasnt better by the afternoon i would arrange for her to see her paed on monday.

when she went down for her lunch time nap the eye stayed open and this alone got me concerned - well actually scared, terrified etc. We took her to the local ER and they said it might be Bells palsy but they would like to admit her and keep an eye on it overnight. so they admitted her and the PAED came to have a look and confimed the er docs suspicion but still wanted to keep her in while they start cortizone.

They released her yesterday morning, but want to see her again on friday and if no improvement they will re-admit and start with a cat scan to check for Tumours as bells Palsy would have shown some form of improvement by then, even if only slight.

But oh wow did the nurses love K... she followed them around, greeted each one as they entered or left the paed ward... when they came to take her blood pressure or temp she stuck out her finger for the machine... too cute for words!

Hi Ladies

Can't believe time is flying by so quick!!
My 28wk scan is in 3 weeks

Things are so hectic - starting the renovations this weekend, so trying to finalise everything
(we went to choose our granite slab for our kitchen tops today but there is still so much
to do)
Plus we have people coming to view our current place to rent out when we move into the
other house - what a pain trying to keep the house clean with 3 dogs and a toddler :woohoo:
and then the cheek to have already had 4 last minute cancellations!! (our leasing agent
must be so frustrated as well)

I get some heartburn when lying in bed and pain in my hips when I sleep to long on one side
(too long being 20mins!)

JB - don't take it too personally. I know it's easier said than done but I go thru the same thing
with D when we visit my parents - she doesn't want to know me, everything's "Ganny, Ganny!"
I just take it as a few minutes or a few hours to relax and enjoy myself
She def still has complete undying love for you and will never forget who you are, she just
likes someone else more at the moment. (hey, we all go through that - if we have an argument
with DH, we still love them, we just don't particularly like them  )

DH is going to Dbn tom and has been training for a 40km trail run next month, so he's been prett
absent for a while.
Ppl tend to forget that when you are pregnant with no 2 (or 3) you need even MORE time to relax
and look after yourself! Yes you've been through it all before, but now you have a job, a toddler and
a family to look after, nevermind yourself and your baby!!

oh Girly, i am so sorry. I don't really know what to tell you. Kaelyn also has weeks where all she wants is Daddy, or gandpa or...

This week Josh is wirking evening shift, so he is only getting home at 10:30pm... from the moment we pulled into the driveway yesterday till he got home she kept asking for him... when i put her to bed at 7 she fought for daddy... kept waking every half hour till he got home and went in to say goodnight to her.

But we still have the advantage that grandparents go home...

I am sure Kaylee still loves you, and i will bet that when she is sick you are the one she wants to be with... no matter who else is available! Rather be thankful for the help you have, and maybe when no 2 comes along get daddy/grandparents to bath him/her at night and make a point of using that time for special 1 on 1 time with Kaylee.
