hi ladies thank you so much.

Evan ate well last night, woke up at 11:30pm and 4:50 am for bottles and downed them He's still smiley and friendly with everyone but i can see he is not 100%.

Will see how today goes. I hate not being with him when he's sick but I truly have no choice today... My BIG boss is here from the UK the whole week...

Charnenay - He is on rueteri probiotic and the creche guard immune booster every day. Do any of you moms have recommendations for a better multivitamin? I keep asking the drs and they say what he's on is really good??

Both his cousins suffer with ear infections and have both had grommets in because of it.

PM - I am so, so, so sorry for your loss. It is so heart breaking! I will be thinking of you all xxx

Congrats on Iz's 2 teeth!! Yay!!!

BabyK - Evan was with Dr Vala at Olivedale and now with Dr Rose (at Dr Dance's rooms) in Sandton. I went to her because my nephew goes there and I needed to see someone ASAP. DH wants me to try get him in with Dr Li at Olivedale. We have heard so many good things about him. He treated the lady (who was in hospital with me when I delivered) little boy as he had blood sugar issues at birth and he was so lovely. He also treats my friend's LO.

Evan loves doing babababababa and is now calling mamamama a lot. Oh and he growls at people too. He kind of looks up at you from under his eyebrows, gets this little grin and growls! He thinks it's hilarious!

cols, so sorry to hear that Evan is not well I do hope that he gets better soon. What a weekend for you. Do you give him a daily multivitamin or probiotic? Perhaps he needs a bit of extra support. Also, the teething can cause ear infection. Shame man, as everything, some babies are unfortunately just more prone to getting sick than others But, he does seem to be struggling, poor baba and poor mommy too. Give him lots of kisses, really hoping that he gets the all clear after this xxxxxxx

Shame Cols hun, I am so sorry to hear that, what stress you must have been under these last few days! How is little Evan feeling now? You must be absolutely shattered

Well done for trusting your instincts and thank goodness you found a new paed. Do you mind me asking who is your new paed? And who was your old one for that matter?

Strongs hun, you are a brilliant mommy and soon your little guy will be happy and healthy again xxx It sounds like this antibiotic treatment will definitely kick that infection out the water and I've heard that once their little eardrums burst they feel much better (what a brave little man you have).

We had a gruelling ballet weekend. And then a wedding on Saturday. My poor kids had yet another run in with their dad, oi! Which mom had to do damage control. But seriously some people need to grow braincells in petrie dishes and start selling them! (High IQ is not even a pre-requisite, even stupid braincells will do) Cause the lack of it going around is mindboggling.

We got some really tragic news last night, one of our ballerina's passed away in a car accident. My poor child is devastated. We are all heartbroken. Carmen was only 19 years old and one of the most beautiful, talented dancers I've ever seen. She truly was my childs rolemodel. I fear ballet this afternoon. I can only imagine what poor Alison must be going through (ballet teacher) as Carmen was like her own daughter. We've been crying our eyes out since last night, I can't bear to see my child so heartbroken. It's really hitting her very hard. I just hope they all draw strength in knowing they dancing Carmen's choreography in the SA's and going there and doing it for her.

Sorry havent had a chance to catch up... W have had a very rough couple of days.

So Evan was doing so well, eating sleeping and being a happy happy boy. Thursday afternoon when I was on my way to fetch him from school I got a call from his teacher saying he had a high fever and was throwing up. I told them to give him panado until I got there. When I got their they were spounging him down.

Through the night his temperature would not come down from 38. I even gave him a suppository and nothing worked. We took him to the hospital at 5 am and the er dr said he had an infection in his left ear (so the last antibiotics hadnt worked). I was worried because there was a little discharge in his ear. He said it was fine...

I didnt feel confident about the dr's treatment so I called his paed. I went to her at 2pm and showed her what was prescribed. She said that it was a mild antibiotic and if the augmentin hadnt worked this wouldnt. She said he had to go into hospital because he needed to have an IV antibiotic put through. He also needed to have a fluid drip put up because he was dehydrated.

Turns out the tonsils and right ear cleared but not the left. His little ear drum burst. We spent our weekend in hospital. He was released today but still has a drip in his foot (just the needle part). He has to go back in for the next 2 mornings to have 2 more antibiotic drips put through. I will take him to the ent in2 weeks. I am so heartsore for my little monster.

I dont know why he is so sick all the time.

Johnny said Mama yesterday! Well he cried Ma-Ma when he was crying for me. He did it three times but so far hasn't done it again.
And then last night he started saying Da-Da-Da-Da - not stringing them together like Dada but just Da on its own. So sign of Ba yet though. So exciting!

I have loads of allergies and DH is allergic to dust so I took a probiotic every day when I was pregnant to try halve the chances of John getting allergies but it seems as though he is suffering a little too. I bought Allergex syrup and have given it to him a few times and it has helped. Problem is I don't know what the catalyst is, still trying to figure it out. I really hope its not our cats - I am allergic to cats but I have become 'immune' to them.

Pinkmommy, I love the way you say it like it is! I need more of your confidence. I absolutely hate confrontation and will do anything to avoid it but sometimes to my detriment.

I have heard really good things about prodol and now from you ladies too so I'm going to get some for John as soon as I can.
