hi mommies, sorry haven't checked in for a while. Busy with deadlines, aaarrgh.

FG, sorry about the booboo, shame poor Emily I know these things are gonna happen. John cut his lip a little the other day but it wasn't too bad. So good that she is walking though!

Hope you're all good. I'm applying for another copywriter/ content consultant job, need to write the 'test' press release and newsletter for the client but soooo busy with my construction report. I'm handing in the report tomorrow so hopefully I get paid before the end of the month.

DH off to Cape Town next Thurs and his friends are arriving on Sunday to stay with us - I'm a little scared to be honest, they have quite a reputation for drinking. But DH is still going to work until Thursday and John needs to go to bed at 7/ 7:30 so I think things should be ok

Kerry was it in June that we all met up? I can't believe it. I couldn't actually remember when it was. Ja, would be nice to do it again.

FG - sorry about the booboo - she will probably be mroe hesitant now, but don't be despondant - it will come (D also fell when she first started and took a few days off)
She had her first tantrum last night - but it was because she was tired, so I just put her in her cot and let her 'sleep it off' - I woke her at 21h00 for a bottle (since she missed her 19h00 bottle) - she drank the whole bottle in one go, with her eyes closed (I'm sure she was actually still asleep) and i put her straight in her cot and she carried on sleeping til 07h00 this morning

My poor baby fell today she hurt her lip, it was bleeding and she just woke up from her nap with a swollen lip our first booboo.

She was walking from her chair to her table (just 2 steps at a time), doing this repeatedly and finding herself very entertaining and then she slipped and hit her mouth on the floor - I think she might be even more reluctant to walk now

Roybn, that is so cute, rubbing her tummy when asked if she is full.

Sheryl - welcome back

FG - sorry, I took my lunch break to walk to the habby store, but they only had silver & gold in 25mm.
They had all the colours under the sun in the small sequins, but only 2 in the big ones

Dakota wears size 3 shoes but she wears hard-soled shoes as she walks in tippy-toes all the time, so the hard soles help keep her feet down (maybe she will be a ballet dancer as well!!)
I know walking bare-foot helps as they can feel the ground better and grip more

D also knows Eye, Nose etc - except she points to yours
and if you ask her if her tummy is full, she lifts up her top and rubs her stomach (so cute! )
But talking - only Dada, Mama and Ut - meant to be up and duck )

She still drinks her mikl out a bottle, but water and juice is from a normal cup or a juice bottle

Kerry - she has grown up hey ? K also has 2 nice costumes, had a lovely swim with her dad on sunday. loves the water

she is flushing the toilet and getting up to alot of things....

Flowergirl I hear you on the vocab - K has said mama baba and dada at 5 months and Hi. now its all that plus, papa, go, No, oh, Hi, Hiya

you ask her where her mouth is and nose, and she point to it... clever girl

I just dont know why K does not do things slowly, everything is so quick. you blink your eye and she done something or grabbed something. does not even walk slowly

she runs into every room and all the time. does not know what slow is or to sit for 2 secs still

she drinks lovely out of a straw. yet i give her only water and milk. paed said no juices yet

kerry I agree we overdue for a meet, its summer and its braai time

She is already in the size 5 shooshoo's her slippers and her creche shoes are 5's from shoecity... but there are a few size 4 sandles she still wears.

I would stick with the soft soled shoes until she is walking confidently, it really really helps. but K has been walking since 11 months so she's a seasoned pro already, walking, running climbing... rolling on the floor you name it she's been there... even carries heavy things around now

and did i mention chases our dogs?
