Phew we survived showtime!

Nice to hear from you again Joybaby!!!!!! So sorry about poor K!

Our tantrums have subsided a bit. Maybe cause big sisters are back to entertain. I've worked on Ab's farewell dress last night. Altered the corset and sewn the skirt. I'll attach pics of it so far. Now I still need to sew sequin paillettes on the corset. Problem is I can't find big enough ones in our one horse town. And I can't find any online. Please please please if any of you are somewhere near a harbedashery or material shop, could you see it they have any 20/30mm sequin? In any colour! I'll attach pics. I am desperate.

joybaby - so good to hear from you again!! Kaylee remains in our prayers - really sorry for what you and your family have been through. Really hoping that it will be the last surgery for Little K.

A meet would be great, but it seems only Robyn and I are still chatting here of the CPT ladies.

Robyn - Joybaby and I are thinking of meeting up at Stodels in Durbanville early November - perhaps the 12th? Let us know if you can join?? Joybaby also still needs to confirm if the date works for her.

Emily decided to walk quite a bit on Friday night!!! She was up and down between the coffe table and the couches while Dh and I watched a movie. Kept laughing hysterically when she realised that she was walking - it was very funny We also let her have her first popcorn!! We usually have popcorn, astro's and a movie on a Friday night but typically we start the movie once she is already asleep. But on Friday, we decided to watch 2 movies and start early. So we gave her a bowl of popcorn as well. Oh my word, she LOVED it!!! In the end, she tipped the whole bowl over her face!!

Hello Joybaby! long time no see... if you go back a page or two you will see us all moaning about the tantrums, so don't feel alone.

So sorry to hear your little one needs surgery again that must be terrible! Will keep you in our prayers!

Glad to see everybody is still around and doing well!
Sorry that I cant really go back and read all the posts. I remember vaguely that a lot of babas are already walking and growing up really fast!

Just thought I'll pop in quickly well I have some time (well, not really but its been too long!)

Hope everybody is doing well. Any more pregnancies / ttc?

Cape Town ladies we must get together for a meet again, especially those who werent with last time! You know the last time we met our baba's weren't even sitting yet!

Life's just crazy busy this side and very very stressful.
My contract at work comes to an end in January, so I'm looking for work yet again. I've worked very hard for the past 6 months and finally on board with how things go, so the thought of doing it all again is rather scary! And if I find a job further from home its going to be mega crazy on our routine and time. But I'm mostly scared of being unemployed cos we just cant afford it.

Kaylee is doing good & bad. Good - she's growing so nicely! She CAN walk, and has taken many steps on her own the past month. But she much prefers to hold your hand and have you walk with her. Her personality is really shining through now. She has also started throwing tantrums. She gets highly frustrated if she tries to open something / stack something / pack something and cant get it right, or if she wants you to take her somewhere but you dont she drops onto the floor, drops her head down and starts screaming, red face and tears running down! It's rather funny but also not too amusing anymore!
She is sleeping much better at night, mostly sleeps through and wakes up at 6am. She is down to 1 nap a day at the daymom, but thats more out of the daymom's routine and that the other kids keep her busy. At home she naps twice a day. So during the week she's exhausted by 6:30pm cos of just one nap, and we dont get much time with her at night.
She's been very sickly since May though. Spent 2 weeks in hospital with double pneumonia in August, over her birthday. She had grommets put in and since then no more ear infections which is a blessing, but she still gets colds every other week and is very snotty and phlegmy. I think she has an allergy to milk which may be causing this, and she is especially phlegmy at night. I was giving her pediasure at night cos she's not eating that well, but I think it may be a culprit in the phlegm even though it is lactose free. So we're going to go get her some rice milk tomorrow and see how that goes. I cannot wait for this season to end, it's been hard on our budgets and on our energy levels etc!
She is also cutting her incisors which is taking far too long for my liking! She is in a lot of pain but refuses to let you put anything into her mouth to help, so I just ponado where possible. I'll go buy some baby biltong for her tomorrow as well.

(Sorry for my long post, almost done I promise!)

We went for her cardiology appointment at the end of September to hear if her narrowing is returning or not. We were really not expecting there to be other problems and I was soooo much looking forward to some good news so that we could put this past year behind us. But afraid Kaylee will be going for Open Heart Surgery in the near future. She has developed sub-aortic stenosis in her left ventricle as a result of the misformed aorta causing turbulence so ie she has scar tissue in her heart which means it works harder to pump blood and causes further scar tissue and will eventually be very bad. So they have to go in and cut it out. But because she is still growing rapidly, they prefer to leave her till she's 2 if she can, but based on the last scan, they might have to go in sooner and repeat the operation again in coming years. So next check up is in March unless we see deterioration and decide to have her checked up sooner.

Anyway I'll catch up just now, I must make chips and pick up pizza.
Just pray for us please. And I miss you all!

Flowergirl - our trikes steering isnt to bad but i hear you, the bigger problem is k grabs the handles and tries to steer against you....but i just lift the front wheel off the gound then... its pretty easy.

Scary about the snake, just have to be super careful that your little one doesn't wander off and find one herself. shame man... and i am jus getting used to letting K wander outside on her own. not far and i check in on her... (just long enough to dunk a cellphone)

Cols - hope you enjoy the break. THough, by the time you see this, you will probably be back already!!
