Jeez - I am sooo glad it's Friday. I am really looking forward to the weekend. We finally hung Emily's new curtains in her room last night, but now she needs to get used to the darkness - she woke up about 4 times last night and I could tell that she was a bit unsettled by it - her room used to be very light at night, because the curtains were thin, so the outside lights shone into her room - shame, my poor baby. At 4AM, DH eventually just brought her to our room.

JeanineK - no more rocking to sleep!! That's great - I wonder when Emily will get there!! I am planning on doing her "big girl room" in March/April, but I need her to be falling asleep on her own before then so that I can take the rocking chair out of her room because there won't be place for all I want to do if we leave the rocking chair there. And, her room now is dark wood and I want to do white furniture so the rocking chair can't stay!
Good luck with the move!!! You have a BUSY time ahead of you!!

PM - photo's please!!!! Good luck for tonight!

Robyn - enjoy the down time with hubby - sounds lovely.

BabyKsmom - I hear you on the not feeling sexy at the moment - I have totally lost my mojo. Really hope to loose at least some of this weight before xmas :( I need to loose about 20KG's to be comfortable - its going to be hard work (especially weekends - we love eating out!!) To make matters even worse - dh is looking better than he has in years!! He has been gymming really hard the past few months and guess what = girls who look like they are hardly 21 are checking him out at the beach!!!!! Talk about sending me into depression!! I seriously need to get my ass into gear.......

Hi ladies

Happy Friday!

Joybaby thanks for letting us know about Liani. Wow, imagine having your second baby now, nice age gap for the girls though, sure they will be great friends.

No real news on my side, still waiting to see if the agent can set up an interview for me at the other company, but how's this - Jeanine its like your house story - I saw the job advertised on Pnet again but from a different agent. I'm sure its the same company, it had the exact same job specs. I don't know if I should apply to them too. But I'm going to call the agent shortly so I'm sure I'll find out more then.

Wow Jeanine, talk about having alot on! Are you doing the moving yourself or are you getting a moving truck? Good luck! Wow the concert sounds awesome but you are going to be finished.
So how is DG going to cope next weekend with Willem if you are at the team building? lol. Your new job sounds awesome btw! Gosh those vending machines would be my undoing. I temped at Pillsbury muffins many years ago and we 'had' to taste muffins everyday and I put on at least 2 kgs in the short time I was there
Ja the weight thing is always an issue. I am finally close to my pre-preggie weight, 3kg to go. But I'd really like to lose another 10 after that. I just don't feel sexy anymore. Do you girls struggle with that? Its so hard to detach myself from my role as mom and turn into sexy wife.

John has been sick this week too - probably bronciolitius but we got bisolven from the chemist and it has helped tremendously so I didn't take him to the doc. Quite chesty and coughing but its much better. And back to his smiling and laughing from yesterday. I hate it when he's sick because I lose my happy boy.

All was fine with DH's friends from OZ - they were quite well-behaved and kept quiet if they stayed up late or came home late. John really warmed to them, think he is missing them now. DH and them flew to CT last night and are back on Tuesday. Then they stay with us for another couple of days. Wow, they make Adelaide sound like the place to live with lots of opportunity and happy times.

Hope you all have a fab weekend. Robyn, enjoy the downtime with DH, sounds absolutely divine, so jealous.

Anybody going to Kings of Leon?

Oh ja and Happy Halloween!

John born 30 August 2010

Hi Ladies,

Just scanning through all the posts at work...

PM - sounds like you had a hectic week! But can't wait to see the photo's of that stunning dress :)!!
Flowergirl - I hear you about the weight - I'm in the same boat, also the most I've ever weighed before... I DID try and diet once - and my milk dried up within 2 days... So now I keep saying that I will diet once Willem stops drinking...
Well it seems that day is now almost upon us. He still loves to drink, but at night he stays niggly after drinking, and keeps trying to come back for more, take 2 sips and cry some more.
So I've started to give him a bottle of cow's milk afterwards (about 100ml), and he sweeps that as well, so guess mine just isn't enough anymore.
Upside is, that now I can just put him into the cot, give him the bottle, and walk out. 20 minutes later I just sneak in to get the bottle, and he is fast asleep - no more rocking to sleep in our house!!!

Kerry - hope K feels better soon :( Willem also had that a few weeks ago - not really "sick" - just runny nose and sore throat - he was croaking for a few days.

Robyn, enjoy your weekend!! And I'm sure D and your folks would be fine :)

AFM - Have a hectic time ahead. We are moving!! tomorrow!!!! We went looking at the flat beginning of the month, loved it, filled in the forms... and then the estate agent told us somebody else already took it. Fast forward to last week Friday, she phoned us, as asked if we were still interested.
Then we struggled the entire Friday, weekend and Monday to get hold of her to get things started, no luck. Finally on Monday I went looking for the original ad (on private property), and found that she had removed all of the ads, and the property was then listed by ANOTHER estate agent.
So we phoned the second agent - signed the contract on Wednesday, and we are getting the keys today!!!

It is still a garden cottage - but the big house is empty (for sale) so we no hassles with sharing (at least for now) - it is MUCH bigger that the place we are staying in now (and that was already big), and it has 1.5 bedrooms - so baba will finally get his own (little) room ;) - maybe we can sleep through then!
And best of all - its 5 houses down the road from MIL - so less traveling (I've been missing them living next to us the last few months)

Then - also tomorrow, we have my new company's yearend function... they are holding a music festival for us - at riversands farm. They got: Kurt Darren, Elvis Blue, Adam, Pebbles and ... Prime Circle to perform!! - hope I still have energy left after the move...

Then on top of it all, seems my team is doing our (annual?) team building next weekend, sounds like a friday-saturday event.

Work is going well - it’s completely different from what I used to do, so quite a bit of a learning curve - but I do feel that I'm starting to get the feel for it now.. Still got lots to learn, but at least I'm not running for help every 5 minutes, now it’s just every hour ;)

Perks are great though ;) (DH has banned me from talking about it at home :)) They have fully stocked vending machines on every floor (biscuits, chips, sweets - oats-so-easy and two-minute noodles! (for the people wanting to do breakfast/lunch) - plus machines for water and juice.. and did I mention that they are 100% FREE!! - so back to the weight issue.....................
And then every Friday, they provide 'snacks' - first week was meat platters (mince balls, sausage rolls, chicken ect) and last week was sandwiches. Sitting here now, waiting to see what we are getting today - it usually arrives around 10-11...

Okay, guess I better stop my essay now. I do tend to sneak in a quick read every day at the office (bad of me, I know) but I never seem to get chance at home, and now with the move it might be a few days till we are sorted out again.

Ps, GO SHARKS!!!! – will come upload pic of Willem in his sharks outfit once I’m back online at home ;)

(and good that I copied and pasted into word – after all this typing – what do I get “your session has expired” <GRRRR>)

Location: Johannesburg
Willem born: 20 Aug 2010
Emily born: 5 March 2014

Oh pink - it never rains it pours! :-( ah well tomorrow night while ABS is at the farewell i think you have earned yourself a much needed glass of wine and bubble bath :-) (oh and personally i know how you feel, you didn't choose to have to look after your mom this week... and a full grown miserable adult can be more of a handfull than a sick child)

Flowergirl - Good luck with the diet! Not nice to feel that way! (Oh and sounds like you had an amazing day off)

Robyn - Enjoy your Night off! and i am sure your parents will be fine... these little charecters of ours are so suprisingly reslillient!

As for me... well yesterday when we fetched K we noticed her voice was a bit scratchy and since i was at the doc getting my eltroxin renewal we squeezed her in too. The doc gave antibiotics but said to gove her two days to possibly recover on her own first. Shame the poor gal is a mute... when she cries it comes out barely audible even though shes screaming! :-(

(she does however sound at least half way better today)

Hey ladies - took the day off yesterday as my manager is in London and I was up to date with everything I could get done without her here, so just decided to stay home with Em. We picked up my nephew in the morning and took the kiddies to a restaurant that is based on a farm where there is a massive play area and farm animals. We were the only people there, so the kids had a BLAST!!! Emily and nicky loves playing together - he will be 2 in DEcember and he is soooo protective of her - it is very cute :)

Rest of the day I just did some shopping and had a nice afternoon nap with her, then last night we were home alone as dh had a meeting so my sister came around with her 2 kids and we put all the kids in a bath together and ordered Nando's for dinner - hectic evening with 3 kids in the house!! Emily was exhausted when they left.

As for me - I weighed myself yesterday for the first time in about a year and I now weigh more than I have ever weighed (even direcltly after birth!!!) I need to seriously get my ass into gear - this is ridiculous!!! So, I am back on weighless eating plan and starting at the gym again tonight. Wish me luck!!
