Cols, hehe on the brave – I’ll still see with the top teeth out now – the bottom ones are covered by his tongue when drinking, the only time he bites is if I’m not paying attention, and he is finished. He sort of let’s go, and then grabs it with his teeth.
With the left tooth, it took about 2 weeks from the time I could see the tip pushing (tiny white dot), till it was out. The right one is now showing the tip, so will see how long that takes.

Willem’s sandpit will be by MIL’s flat – only one cat there (the landlords) and it never gets in their portion of the garden, cause MIL has a VERY energetic little dog (used to chase my cat all the way up my staircase).

Sher, did you end up going to the party? Shame, I can’t stand it if DH is away for 1 night, must be hard on you, and now he’s gone even longer

Candice, oh dear, I’ve seen so many people complain about missing posts lately!! I don’t even bother copy and paste before I send – I sommer type the whole thing in word, and then paste into Moomie
I just LOVE the yogurt face photo! I haven’t been brave enough to let Willem feed himself yet. Get enough on his face with ME feeding him, who knows how he will look if he does it!
He loves playing with an empty bowl and spoon though – the spoon even makes it to his mouth about 80% of the time – about 50% of that its upside down though

SO...... On Saturday Willem decided he wants to WALK!!!
Not just a step or two between the furniture – he set out across the middle of the lounge floor!!!
And the best is, he did it THREE times over the weekend, and the last time I managed to grab my camera in time

BabyK, When Evan was in hospital there was a toddler there. He had picked up a bacterial infection on his bum. It was a long story but they only figured out it was bacterial after a month. The mom had been told by her Dr to put gentian violet on it (his whole pelvic aread) 2 days before he ended up in hospital. They had to keep sedating him and they suspected his hip had gone septic but they could not see because they could not see the confition of the skin because it was all purple. It was terrible! I think of that poor baby and his mom so often. I cannot explain the pain that poor child was in. The nurse told me they thought he picked up an infection from a sandpit. It was a combination of bad doctor and bad advice that it got as bad as it did.

I'm just paranoid about the hygeine. I also hear you on the mess while eating. It does my poor little head in! I need to take a chill pill

Hey Sher, I was just thinking about you yesterday, wondering how you are. Shame man, sorry DH is away for so long that sucks. I say go to to the party, do you have someone to look after K for a few hours?

Cols, thanks for all the info on the pastic toys, I will defo make a trip out to westpack. What's your thing about sandpits? Do you think they're unhygienic? I'm starting to have 2nd thoughts, DH is convinced that even if we get one with a lid our wily cats will find a way to get in and next thing John will be eating you know what. I'm quite relaxed about letting him get dirty though (outside in a sandpit that is, or in the garden).

Jeanine - I know I feel very brave with the whole cake thing, although I can't wait to see his face and his reaction and also will have the video camera ready I didn't realise how anal I actually am about mess, I think my mom has finally worn off on me. I really struggle sometimes when I'm feeding John and he messes everywhere. I want to shout at him and sometimes I have to walk away and come back again. I really need to chill out on the whole mess thing, I know that for at least the next 3 years its not going to be any different

Kerry, thanks so much, I'll let you know as soon as I can if we can come to K's party. I might be helping my bestie move that Sunday though because we are having John's family birthday braai on the saturday. I love the invite, its so cute!
