Hey ladies

Another beautiful day in Jozi....

Well done Evan! that is such awesome news. What a busy little guy. So cute.
Where did you go on your girls weekend Cols?
Ja I don't think DH understands how hectic it is to look after the little ones the way we do. Si has not had John by himself for a whole day. I'm dying to do it, will do it soon so I can have a day off and hang with my girls :) Just the next couple of months are busy for us over the weekends.

So I'm going for an interview tomorrow for a full time position as a copywriter. Still applying to the UN as well but if the copywriter position comes up I'm going to take it in the meantime. Just looking at full day schools in the area for John. There is a montessori up the road that I'm keen on but they will only take him when he is steady on his feet. If the company likes me and offers me the job and they're flexible with starting and ending times, then I'm going to try keep John at the playschool 3 mornings a week with my maid and my mom helping out in the afternoons, and then my mom will have him full days on mondays and wednesdays. It will be really hectic for my mom but it won't be forever. As soon as he is walking nicely we can re-look full day school.
Anyways, this might all change but at any rate I am super excited and nervous
for my interview.

John born 30 August 2010

Sher how was your trip and K's birthday? I am sure it was lovely seeing all the family and she must have knocked their socks off - she is such a cutie!! :D

I hear you guys on the choas being wreeked by our little chappas :) I left Evan with DH for Saturday and Sunday while I was on my girls weekend. He was exhausted last night. He said it's so hectic and he doesnt know how I do it. :D Yes, now he knows exactly what I go through :D Evan wouldnt sleep yesterday so he literally passed out while I was feeding him dinner. He was moaning for his food - I was letting it cool down. He got 2 mouth fulls in and passed out. He was so tired he slept through me bathing him. I had to bath him as he'd been playing in the sand and water etc while DH was planting some trees yesterday. So he was filthy! He obviously had a bad night because he didnt eat :( It was ok, i was just happy to see my boys after my girls weekend :D Then today - he walked! He stood up on his own and started walking!!!! He was sitting on the floor at school - got into his spider walk position and then just stood up and started walking!!!

He is really doing so much now! He has learnt how to press play and pause on the decoder, he takes the memory stick out the usb port on my computer and puts it back in, he says "there" and points at objects he wants or if I ask him where something is or if he wants to go to it. He's also saying "hello" properly now and he's started saying "daddy" not just dada :) He is just so cool - I am loving him so much. Oh and number 5 tooth is out - FINALLY and # 6 is cutting.

BabyK - Good luck with the UN Job, I can imagine freelancing does leave you feeling a little insecure, you are not selfish, there is nothing wrong with having had enough of the insecurity.

Pink - so sorry about Abby, hope she is better soon! Luckily she has loads of big strong boys about to carry her books for her ;-) The dress is stunning and i am sure she will knock everyones socks off.

Cols sorry about the teething and the booboo, but the bonus is these little ones heal super fast :-) Unfortunately we have to face the facts, they will get hurt, no matter how much we wrap them up in bubble wrap and try sooo dilligently to protect them. But i do find that K is more prone to falling when she is tired... as she gets tireder her co ordination seems to fade...

Sher - sounds like your little princess is developing quite nicely! I hear you on re-packing... phew if there is something she can unpack it gets unpacked... if i leave her nappy bag on the floor she is into it... if she is in the kitchen shes unpacking the cupboards... the other day she got hold of the wet-wipes... she pulled them all out... one at a time :-( its amazing how quickly they get up to mischief!

and i must say you are right from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to bed its non-stop pandemonim, K doesn't sit still for anything... you have to constantly have an eye on her and be turning her away from what she has found. and yes she too has started using things to stand on... she has this car she got for her birthday... and last night i caught her pushing it up to something so she use it to climb up. I was dumbfounded! now nothing is out of her reach!

I see just about every one is teething at the moment, there must be something in the air... Kaelyn, bless her little socks still only has those first two teeth she got at nine months and while she is drooling severely and seems to be biting everything i don't even see swollen gums anywhere :-( poor thing!

Ah well i better get back to work... have a lovely day ladies!!

Hi

cant believe we almost end of sept and 3 months left for the year

had K 1 year check up yesterday. She is 8.4kg and 72cm. such a small girl but I really thought she would be taller, she looks tall but I suppose cause she is slender

Paed is very happy with her with her development. He said they wont put on too much weight when walking, K was walking so early, they are active and she is so so active. but has such nice toned legs, too cute....

she keeps us on our toes, so tired of repacking my cupboards, she unpacks the dish cloths and goes to her room and unpacks all her clothes and chucks it on the floor. keeps switching the lamp shade on and off and thinks its funny, does not stop, she never sits still..... for months opens the shower door and closes it, knows excactly how and where to hold so she does not jam her fingers .... opens the lids of bins and toilet seat and stands on my handbag if she cant reach things on tables. she pushes the handbag closer and stands on top of it ...

also he said build, is from genes, she has to take after one of her parents... def not hubby side :)

her hair is just full of curls. Teething again. seems all of us are on the same boat. K does not cry or anything, she is really strong... so luck no hassles for us....did not know those two teeth were there until i saw them two weeks go come through the gums... only two nights were restless, no crying just tossed and turned....

1 year jabs next week. Cant believe she is going to be a year friday.... I bought her b day dress 2 months ago i think :) too cute

PM - I really dont want to imagine when my K is that age in that generation....

Dad is gonna have his work cut out for him... I was the opposite, a tom boy, loved pants and jeans etc. only started wearing dresses and skirts when i was working - ha ha and make up. the odd occasions I did. I was very sporty and that took alot of my time so no time. as I got older, you wont catch me without being polished. I love dressing up and always want to look feminine ...times have changed.

lets see what k is like

Kerry glad you better. all these toofie problems. shame PM for Abs.

one more sleep and we off tomorrow afternoon, I cannot wait girls to get out of jhb even if its just for the weekend, I had enough of work :)

we having a picnic at Kloof falls with both families, have a cake and savouries, sweets and drinks and one or two balloons for K and yeah relaxed

everyone wants a peice of her this weeknd, gonna be hard splitting ourselves in two with both families but also cant wait to see my 6 month old neice, saw her when she was born ....

she says Hi, there but actually "der" and Hey but A .... so funny vowels in the mix too

Kerry, I am glad to hear you're feeling better! You're brave, not taking any pain meds. i really hope I have a girl next.. I thought Evan would be a girl. Their appetites fluctuate so much. I am now of the opinion that if he eats well most of the time I wont panic when he wont eat some of the time... He's human, his appetite will fluctuate.

Flowergirl, the dr gave me a script but I am sure you could get it over the counter. I am glad Emily is sleeping better. Evan's routine is very similar to hers. That would be lovely for her. I am sure she'll enjoy it :)

BabyK, wow that would really be exciting. What would you be doing? Sweetness, that is light :) Evan weighs over 11kg now and is almost as tall as he 18 month old cousin! He is very tall and has a chubby little face. Im glad John's loving his day care too. :)

PM, Poor Abby! I hope she is better soon!! Wow, she is so popular! Must make you proud :) Shame man, well maybe he will wake up sooner next time. Teenage politics hey! You forget how fraught those years are :D It's a very nice dress. Shoo, DH is probably polishing his shotgun now :) Poor Iz, I hope her teeth cut soon.

Evan is struggling again. He is waking at night crying in pain with his teeth at the moment. He woke up crying / cried out in his sleep so many times last night. I.d walk into his room, he'd say mama, I tuck him back in with his dummy and he goes back to sleep again. He just takes so freaking long for them to cut everytime :(

He got his first real booboo yesterday. He closed the gate at creche on his finger and took off some of the skin. Poor baba :'( His teacher felt terrible about it. it's the safety gate that keeps the babies our of the little kitchen / change area. Needless to say it's Evan's favourite place to try get into. The gate hadnt closed properly behind the teacher when she went in to change one of the other babies and he followed and pulled the gate closed on his finger when he started playing with it. So he is minus a few layers of skin from the 1st digit of his ring finger. It didnt seem to be bothering him last night or this morning.
