Thanks Ronel - I wasn't sure where it was, my friend knows and I was going to go with her. Apparently not the nicest part of town, but the things in there are uber cheap.

Good luck with your bosses - I hope they understand!

Eve - apparently every 2 weeks. I'm only seeing mine again in 3 weeks. He said there is no reason for me to see him as my everything is in tact and on track. He charged me R318 for the last 4 visits. He didn't do an internal check, but could see on the scan that my cervix as still long and in place. Alex's head is not engaged yet, but is set to move in to place within the next couple of weeks apparently.

Lucy - glad you took the day off. There is absolutely no reason why you should work you ass off if there is someone who can do it for you.

Nadia - I can't believe you're back at work! Did you only take of 1 month? Where is Nathan now - a creche or a day mother?

Skyler - look after yourself!

Antenatal classes last night was very interesting. Also covered breastfeeding.

I must admit to being rather disappointed with some of the stuff she said though. She said that you can't put a baby on a routine until 6 months, that you should feed on cue until 6 months and that it's not a bad idea for baby to sleep with you at nights until about 3 months.

I've been studying/reading babysense who has a completely different point of view. They say that you can start introducing a sleep/night routine (make the room dark, no play time at night, no eye contact, etc) from 2 weeks. That's a bit extreme for me, but from 6 weeks, I can't see why that would be a problem.

Also, don't you create a routine by if baby cries at night, you go fetch him and put him in your bed? Doesn't he then get used to it and expect it? What ever happened about self-soothing?

She said that a few things about babies learn trust in the beginning and if you don't do it, they might have issues when they grow up (ok she said it better than that, but that sounded like the just of it to me).

So ja, I left feeling confused.

But her breastfeeding tips and techniques looks flawless and easy, so I'm glad we covered that!

Morning ladies

So ja, with a little sleep, crying babie and dirty nappies, all is going well.

I was so depressed on Thuesday, cause nathan did not want to sleep a bit during the night, only 45 min for the entire night, and he was awake till 17:00 yesterday, he kept on moaning, and when you pick him up, he will keep quiet, and so I notice that he stays hungry, even if you feed him, so now I put "papies" in his milk and he is so much better, only woke up twice last night. You can see in his cheeks that he has gained weight already.

You wont believe, but I am back at work already, also started working on monday, so it was hectic, with the no sleep aswell. Nathan is at work with me, lying in his pram all cozy.

Hope all are doing well, those new mommies congrats and for those still waiting, strongs

Enjoy the day

Hi ladies,

So unlucky me will be missing out on meeting most of you again! Sucks being in the Free State.

My gynae faxed my PMB form to Discovery last Friday. This morning I received an e-mail that told me my PMB was authorized. The thing is, I am covered for a whole lot more than the original 8 visits, 8 dipsticks and two major scans. I am covered for the following list:

Consultation codes
0190 x 1 Specialist Consultation
0192 x 8 Specialist Consultation

Investigations and tests
4188 x 9 Urine Dipstick
3797 x 2 Platelets
4171 x 2 U/E
3999, 4001,4009, 4010, 4117, 4130, 4131, 4133, 4134 x1 LFT profile 1
3932 x 1 HIV Elisa
3946 , 3948 x 1 Rubella
3709 x 2 Grouping: Rh antigen
3764 , 3765 x 1 Grouping: A B and O antigens
4032 x2 Creatinine
3755,3805,3837,3713,3825 x 1 DIC screen
3949, 3948 x1 RPR and TPHA
4057 x 2 Glucose

Radiology
3615 and 3617 x1
43260 x1 Ultrasound second trimester
43270 x1 Ultrasound third trimester
43273 x1 Ultrasound third trimester
43240 x1 Ultrasound guided amniocentesis

When I asked my gynae he said he fill in the form, but he does not believe it is going to work. But he also said maybe it will work because I had a miscarriage last June. Well, clearly it worked. Maybe the covered more because of the MC?

Going to antenatal tonight. Don't know what we will be talking about. Seeing my gynae again next week Thursday at 20:00. Will be 35w.

Can't chat very often :( because my HO decided to start and monitor internet usage.

Have a lovely day.

All the sick ladies - get better soon!

Hey Eve from 36 weeks every 2 weeks is normal.

Guys I finally gave in and taking an early sick day... could have gone in to work, but mentally, emotionally and physically I am spent... and having this rain and cold does not help. Dont think it will a problem as the temp is jacked up and I was sitting around twiddling my thumbs anyway! She knows she can call me at home and I can check work email at home as well. But have to go in tomorrow as its my farewell lunch (only half day tho)... gosh I hope that doesn't seem too cheeky!
