Hi Ladies!

Had a wonderful day yesterday - it can really be cool to be a mom to big children - my boys made me a breakfast from heaven - no help or egging on from anyone (no pun intended!)

Lucy - the internal is usually to check if you have any dialation on your cervix already - more comf than a pap. only if you need an early delivery will they do a cervix sweep - which can be uncomfortable.

Simone - the early scan dates are the most accurate to calculate EDD. Later on babies grow and different rates and according to the sonographer each scanner has a variance of 3-4 weeks!!

Sorry I think I forgot everything else again - Im so sleep deprived with the little sleep im getting!

LucyV - please do report back. I have mine on Wednesday (35 week one) and apparently it's also internal. Good luck!

Skyler - Back ache also almost had me in tears. That and the pelvic pressure from standing too much.

I just had a surprise baby shower at work! So sweet. They themed it Finding Nemo. In fact, see the pic below. Didn't expect it at all, had a meeting and when I came back, they'd done up my boss' office.

Now I'm not in the mood for working and I've got SO much to do!

Hey Guys

Im off to Gynae at 3pm today for my 36 week internal exam. Can anyone tell me what to expect... cause what I have read does not make me feel too pleased... I heard it can really hurt?

Morning ladies!!!

Any first time preggie moms that got gifts yesterday! Hubby was so sweet i got a card and a book by my fav auther from "breyton" too cute, hubby also picked out a card that the words meant so special to me i cried - alot i could hardly read the card!!!! I really didnt except it my first mom's day card!

Water retention, ladies i suffered bad saturday BUT it was my fault. Thurs and Fri i had hardly any water and saturday, plus saturday i was up and about driving here walking there from 8am till 5pm was the first time i sat down. So my feet and hands and fingers and toes were swollen to the extreme and were really sore and i just cried from back ache and being so tired, got told off from hubby for over doing it saturday. Its just that my head cant get around the fact that my body cant do all the things i want it to anymore! have to slow down....

5 weeks left and 3 weeks of work yay!

Got loads of baby sutff this weekend at baby city, i am almost ready besides a few odds and ends for the hospital bag so exciting!!!

Simone, i would rather trust your gynae that you have been seeing a while and not the hospital, i guess its difficult as you say you havent had periods, in that case remember that babies can be further past their due date. Like mine is a week and a half ahead but we still stick to original EDD as they have growth spurts now and again, so your gynae is probably right and the hospital measured him bigger but it may just be taht he had a growth spurt.... am i making sense here as i am confusing myself lol!

Jane - you must rest for 18hours!? does that mean you are on maternity now already hope babba eats well

Lucy - so glad for you that you had a chilled relaxing weekend with some sleep!

MRS SH - how nice that everything is sorted out between you and DH and well in time so that you had a good weekend! OOooooo and i love curry am so jealous now!

Thanks for the replies. Regarding my last period, I have not had one for about a year, just one of those things. So I can't even go back to calculate.

Simone k-work from your last period date and then you will get the right EDD. As for the boy/girl thing,I would have another opion,or go to the first gine again.

Nelria hoe was your baby shower,did you get nice prezzies?

My friend is having her baby today,got an induction at 6 this morning. Big baby,on Friday he was already 3.7kg. Can't wait to hear from her.

lucy yey on catching up on sleep had my 1st 2 nigts of insomnia so i felt it for u lot suffering all along

mrs sounds like your wknd was super cool minus pet catastrophe!!

simone - that sucks I wouldnt bother with 3Dscan as they sometimes lie right other times show even less - as for edd mix up grrrrrrrrrrr cant u work back to last missed period? then aybe stay on at work and all will be revealed of when baba shows up and at next scan maybe more info? also phone gynae and explain mixed result and ask professional oppinion - maybe she can do quick scan at lessened price just to prove her findings?

afm - had my babyshower also on sat and WOW amazing friends, details, day, event got soooooooo much sorting it all today as I have to exchange loads as I have way way to much now
