Yippee! Caitlin's blinds finally arrived and DH was so excited, he put them up on Saturday morning before our visitors arrived. I helped of course, but was exhausted afterwards - but her room is finally finished! :woohoo: Have posted some photies. All the clothing on the change mat is for hospital bag which I will pack this week!

Morning ladies!

Ok, its been a while since I was on and that's means I have alot of posts to comment on, bear with me!

Nelria- It is scary and exciting that Brett’s going the self employed route, good luck with that! Mark is also self employed and it has it’s perks but there are periods (like the past month) where he works day and night and travels a lot and I have to remind myself to be supportive and not add to his stress since he is doing it for our family. I hope your little boy turns but whatever leaves you and baba healthy is the best option.

I tried registering on baby city for that thing where they send out messages when baby is born but it kept on cancelling, will try again soon.

Re mother’s day- I bought my mother a bunch of things (slippers, hot water bottle, chocs, slipper socks, hand held fan for the hot flushes) even though she doesn’t act like a mother but if I didn’t buy anything, I’ll never hear the end of it and don’t need her adding stress.

Maureen- Awesome news that Jamie is doing well and about extended maternity leave!

Simone- I haven’t started cleaning, in fact nothing is set up for when the baby comes home. The hospital bags are packed and he’ll have clean clothes but that’s it. I’m leaving the cleaning till after my exams, so 25th May I’ll get my ass into gear to tackle that.

Re Carriwell maternity pads, has anyone seen that stuff? It is massive! I was paralysed with fear and just stared at the pack in Baby City. Are we really gonna bleed that much that we have to use something that runs from our tummies all the way up our spines?! Frightening!

Nadia- Congrats on ur lovely son! I’m really glad that dh decided to go with you.

Giggles- Trust your gynae to do what’s best for you and baby and try not to worry. All the best

Mrs SH- I had the same discussion with Mark about him spending a few days with me after Mateo is born and it also came down to the fact that he has contracts which are our bread and butter and he can’t take off. And I was just asking for 3 days. You not being unreasonable. I totally get where you coming from. It’s terrifying to think we’ll be left alone with this innocent, dependent child. Mark thinks that by getting his family to help that will make it all better but the last thing I want is other women telling me how to care for my son. Whatever happens you and dh need to be on the same side.

Eve- that’s so typical of CTMC! I have waited at every gynae app. You would think that because you paying so much they would be more professional. Idiots!

I wrote my first exam on Wednesday and it was long and painful! The water retention in my fingers makes it painful to bend it so writing for two hours non stop was not exactly easy. Then my back started to pain and I began to panic that I’ll run out of time, this made Mateo move around like mad so I did some breathing exercises and calmed myself down. I’m glad that paper is over with. I’m writing again next Wed so let’s hope I don’t have all the aches and pains then as well.

I need to wash the blanket and hooded towels tomorrow then I’ve completed baby’s things. We bought the Dri buddy last week so I’ll test it out tomorrow and hope that it works and dries baby’s things nicely. I’ve bought Sister Lillians Birth and something rescue remedy, does anyone know if it’ll work during labour and birth or will it be the equivalent of popping smarties when you have a migraine?

We start antenatal on Sunday, looking forward to that. To everyone who's having a shower this weekend, enjoy! Hope you ladies get a decent night's sleep.

Night!!

Hey ladies

Discovery PMB - I got through to Discovery today and was finally told that my application has been sitting in the wrong department for the last 3 weeks. I almost swore at the lady but I know it's not her fault. I've called 3 times now and nobody has ever told me that it's in the wrong department. I am sooooo pissed!! She said she has sent it on and I should get a reply by Monday. I have no clue what the other 2 idiots were looking at when I spoke to them - retards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gynae late - Skyler - nobody went into labour - it's his stupid receptionists - they double book him and which ever patient gets there first gets to be seen first, therefore, he's always late. I normally wait 30 minutes or so but today I waited for over an hour to see him - and then he still had the cheek to tell me that I'm 35 weeks and 6 days pregnant! I had to correct him and say, ummmm, no, actually Dr, I'm 34 weeks and 5 days. I mean really - who has to tell their gynae how far pregnant they are - it's ridiculous!

Really just didn't have a good day. I also bought my hospital bag today and once I got home, I realised that it's not nearly big enough to pack everything in.

Anyhoo - hopefully tomorrow I'll be in a better mood - I think it's my baby shower :) and DH is buying me crocs hehhehehehe

Nelria - Dr requested a weekly doppler scan now just to make 'doubly' sure in his words that she is feeding ok. It measures 'flow' through the umbilical cord. I suppose it relates to performance of the placenta. He also measures her heart rate every week for about 5 minutes. If her heart rate is going up and down (usually from 129bpm to 160bpm) then it is a good indication that she is feeding well - even though she is a light weight :) My Dr said the only thing I can do to help her is REST (lying horizontal) for 18 hours out of 24 now...cos when I rest baby feeds...but it's hard! Maybe you shoudl ask DH to take baba out for a day tomorrow and you rest!

Mrs SH - I am going to hope for you that your baba comes on Friday 14 June and then DH will have the LONG WEEKEND (Sunday 16th = public holiday) so can be off on the Monday...then you at least get 3 days :) by then you might want him to go back to work!

Have a fab weekend ladies...hope it's a restful one!
