Hey gals,
Well I dont want to jinx it but I think the sleeping is coming right. I started putting him in his cot and not rocking properly about a week ago and the first few nights he really fought me but the last two nights there was no standing up on the cot and screaming and no fighting with mom even last night which is amazing.
He sleeps from about 7 until around 6 aswell and lately hasnt woken at all during the night for a dummy or anything.
Hope it lasts!

Is Sal the only preggy one now in the group? On the babycentre forum so many June moms are expecting again

Hi Ladies,

Congrats Sal - Shane is too cute :)

Ladies my lg took her first step yesterday :) :) :)

I was sooo excited for her. She is 10 months and 4 weeks old. So the walking is not tooo far.

Well im still rocking - she weighs about 8kg and it kills me i dunno how you handle it Victo (13kg's) WOW. The things we do for them LOL.

BTW this morning she woke up at 5 and drank her bottle - then she didn't want to sleep she was playing in her cot. I was soooo tired i just put the lights off and when i woke up for work this morning at 06:00 she was fast sleep. SO she fell asleep on her own. She's fine when she doesn't see me but as soon as she sehe's me she wants to be picked up.

Hi All,

Thank God we are all coming back to this forum.

well have been on leave since the 21st until yesterday, My mom and siter visited us for the holidays, and she was busy correcting me all the way from how I put staff in the kitchen to my own brdroom, mothers will never change. ;)

anyhoo: I still have to rock my baby to sleep :( , yes I know Sal you said we must stop, but when I put him to sleep without rocking, he just start crying and crying he will even stand in his cot calling for someone anyone, then my heart just drops and i run quickly to go and fetch him, then I have to do the dreaded rocking for 20 min until he is asleep, what make it worse is that the boy is big and heavy he is now weighing 13.1 kg, he is 10 months 3 weeks.

Morgan,Lucy,Mrs H you are so lucky as your babies just go to sleep without any hussle.

Tiagosmom- how is he sleeping, have you managed to master the sleeping arrangements.

Missy I think me and you are in the same page with rocking.

Vicylee- good to know that ziyad is doing perfect, my Thero is also wearing size 4-5

Party- yes I'm planning a simple winnie the poo party on the 11th of June, he was born on the 8th, so we have moved the party to the 11th as it will be a Saturday, I have already started sending invites, planning to invite 30 people and 15 kids.

Gaynor B- I'm with you on making baby no: 2. not anytime soon maybe after three years, might think about it.

Sal how is the preggy belly doing???.

My Thero has two bottom teeth for the last three months, he repeats everything we say, this days he refuse when people want to take him away from me, he will throw a tantrum.
He walks holding his baby walker, he loves to play aound me and DH or jus tossing and jumping from me to his dad.
He wakes up 05:00 in the morning everyday he makes no mistake.
;)
Overall glad all ladies and bubu's are doing great.

Morning all!!!
I'm the proudest mommy EVA!!! Shane is one of the 4 finalists in the ackermans baby comp.

www.ackermansbabycomp.co.za/finalists.aspx

congrats to all those mommies that have babies walking already. Shane is crawling up a storm and stands on his own but just hasnt taken a 1st step on his own yet. We are organizing his 1st bday party, its only going to be family and the theme is the Smurfs. I'm baking a cake so lets hope the house is not burnt down afterwards.

Ladies with the problems of rocking your babies to sleep, STOP NOW!! you are crazy. I cant rocks Shane anymore (the pregnancy has made me weak I think) he weighs 11.5kg's and we stopped almost 2 months ago. Its terrible to hear them cry but go in every so often to comfort and sooth their backs. Its tough at 1st but hopefully your babies will learn quickly. Shane learnt in 2 days to put himself to sleep. I wish you all luck, hang in there.

Shane has 2 sleeps during the day and 2 bottles, one in the morning and one at night. He sleeps from 7pm till 6am. He sleeps for about 1 - 2 hours during the day x 2 and eats what we eat. We did baby led weaning from 6 months so he's never done purity.
He has 8 teeth and LOVES marshmallow Easter eggs. 3 bites and its gone, HA HA.

Hi everyone!

I'm so glad some of you were keeping the thread alive. Must do better!

We went to Kgalagadi National Park last week and left Alex with my parents. When we got back from holiday, he was standing up against everything! And Mom had taught him how to climb off coaches - like turn around, slide slide until you can touch the ground and then sit down slowly still holding on to the coach. He was so proud to show us. He has only since Tuesday really started waving ta-ta (hand up, fingers open and close) and bye-bye (whole hand and arm waves). He is only now starting to clap - he was always bashing things together, but never his hands. He sings and also does the indian call (make noise and puts hands in front of mouth wah-wah-wah-wah if you know what I mean). I don't think he is ever going to crawl properly as he motors around the house still leopard crawling. He cut 3 teeth whilst we were away so his passion gap is closing. He has 4 top teeth and 3 bottom ones.

His routine is:
06h30 awake
06h45 bottle
08h00 cereal
09h00 sleep
10h30 awake
10h45 snack
12h00 lunch
14h00 bottle
14h10 sleep
15h00 awake
17h00 dinner
18h30 bath
19h00 story, bottle and bed

He goes down day and night without any issues. In the day I do stay in the room until his eyes are closed. At night, I give him a kiss, gives him dum-dum, turn the light off, put his purifier on and leaves his baby lullabies classical music on whilst he is still wide awake. He falls asleep completely unassisted. He doesn't have a dummy at all during the day, only for sleep time. He hates anything but milk or water - doesn't like purity juice, rooibos tea, a tea bottle, nothing. He loves beer - hahaha.

Food wise we still mash his food. He went from eating lumps (as in full sweet corn kernels) to not liking it again to willing to eat lumps and now again not. So we play it by ear. He loves necatrines - I think they're only suppose to get that from 1 years old, but Ouma and Oupa gave it to him whilst he visited and boy does he love it.

Re 1st bday parties - mine is going to be very low key. I haven't actually given it much thought - waiting for my sister (a preprimary school teacher) to come back from holiday to get me inspired with ideas.

What else? I think I love him more and more every day. He is so cute and has me wrapped around his finger. We play very rough before bath time, swinging him upside down whilst he is naked and making him do somersaults on the bed etc. He absolutely loves that. He giggles and copies me. He gives me a bite of his fruit and then he has one. He says mama when he is upset and tells us the longest stories. It's such an incredible journey...I'm getting increasingly broody again...

Chris and I actually chatted about whether and when to have the next one. We are pretty keen. But there are a few things to take into consideration. 1. We decreased our medical aid to 100% custom option, so will have to pay more in. 2. I just started a new job. 3. We have a wedding in Mozambique next Feb which we don't want to miss. 4. We have a cruise in November next year in Miami for his parents' 60th bday celebrations. 5. I lost all the baby weight and then some...

BUT I would love to be pregnant again!! So much!!

Anyway...we'll see, the jury's still out.

Workwise it's going rather slow. I've written the strategy and submitted my budget and now we're waiting for feedback. It's flippen frustrating as I'm not one with a lot of patience and there is so much to do here, but I have to wait to see if everyone agrees on my objectives and priorities. I just want to get stuck in. And there is nothing here...no official comms strategy whatsoever. I got so frustrated that I actually applied for another job at BAT (british american tabacco). Anyway, doubt that they'll even look at me, but that's my impatience forcing my hand...ai tog.

So excited - going home at 12 to watch the Royal Wedding!!
