Tiagosmom- It is hard being a mom, I am sure we have all been at our wits end at some point in the last year! Good luck with the sleep training and I am sure if you persevere he will be sleeping through in no time at all!!!

Juandre - he does have quite a consistant daily routine ( that I know of obviously I am not around to always make sure it actually happens) but he almost always has a morning nap which can be anything from 45 min - 2 hours and then a afternoon nap around 3 pm for an hour. We started sleep training last night and it wasnt so bad. He cried in his cot for about 15 minutes and then fell asleep - I kept going back to him and comforting him but didnt pick him up. He woke up about 3 times during the night ( well I cant say woke up because his eyes were still closed) but woke us up crying last night and I just gave him his dummy and went back to bed which was fine. I will definitely try putting more dummies in the cot for him to find, honestly though I think my child is just lazy to find his own dummy at night I think he can find it but just doesnt want to haha.

I get home around 3 30pm so then we play and play and play and then at around 5 - 5 30 he has dinner, after 6pm he has a bath, has a bottle and then goes to bed around 7 pm.

I just need to perservere and hope and pray it works out! Thanks for all your help ladies

Tiagosmom- Besides the sleep training is he in a consistent day time routine. It doesnt matter who is looking after him as long as the routine is the same. Has his meals, bottles, bath and naps at the same time everyday. My MIL and I both look after MG and we have a strict routine. If I find MG's routine is changing due to her age I just write out a new routine for my MIL to follow.
Bedtime routine is also so important. Do the same thing everynight (unless you are out and then it is different). MG has dinner at 5pm, bath at 6pm and then bottle and bed at 6.30pm. Do whatever works for you but keep it consistent.
Also the babes are old enough to stick a dummy in their mouth at night themselves, but it may get lost in the cot so some people advise buying a few and putting them all in the cot so that they can always find one.
MG has slept through from 4 months. But Shiloe I had to sleep train. ANd Nel is right, it takes about 3-4 days and then they dont wake up anymore.

Good Luck!

Nel- I have just stopped bf. ANd asked my clinic sister if I should put MG straight onto cows milk as she is almost a year. She said they prefer you to keep them on formula until they are 15 months as formula has added vits that cows milk does not have. I'm sure the cows milk must be much cheaper than Nan!

sal from 1 yr babies can have full cream milk for all their bottles - they dont need formula anymore as they get nutrients from food mostly now

but as i am one super lazy mum and refuse to heat a bottle at 4.30 in the morning i buy a tin nido (in regular powder milk section in supermarkets there is 2 brands from 1yr)

and i keep this next to bed with flask of hot milk - takes only 3 scoops for 200ml so get a lot further on tin than lactogen

but his other 3 bottles is normal full cream milk heated in microwave :)

if u continue with formula too long it simply fattens them up combined with the 3 meals a day they get now

tiagosmum - yes i would give dummy, teddy cover him up give 3 firm pats say doedoe now and walk out and lie with head under pillows but with monitor on low - he would wake a little while later (hourly 1st night, 2 hrly next then just once and by 4th night i ran in at 5 to see if he was alive as he slept straight through WOW what ashock as i never had a uninterupted night in 3 yrs as lea didnt sleep through till the day i had xen and it was only due to her dad ignoring her wakes so from then she slept

after that xen continued to sleep through maybe 3 nights in total he had wakes again only to discover a tooth lol

they really do learn quick but the moment u give in its back to square one i see with lea she will wake like 3 nights in a row at 12 and 2 then on third night i tell her if u want dummy get it yourself as i am not coming up till morning and miraculously sleeps through again

same with xen until i stopped bottle and reasuring he woke hourly SEROUISLY but now for past 2mnths only 1 dummy at 10 and then morning bottle yippieeeeeeee

Nelria, clearly I'm suffering from a serious case of stupid in my 2nd pregnancy as I'm not sure what you and Chubby are on about re. milk. Are you ladies saying that you can start phasing out formula with full cream milk? Shane has 2 bottles a day. Nan3, 200ml in the morning and 200ml before bedtime. So, are saying I should 'drop' one and replace it with full cream milk?

Ladies, I'm 20 weeks tomorrow!!! woo hooo, half way through.
