on her 9 months vacc, the sister ( at dischem) told me she is obese at 9 months she should be at 9 kg, and she was 12,3 kg. but she said now that she's crwling she might shed some few kgs.

Hello ladies! Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas.
Happy New Year to you and your families, hope it's a real awesome year for everybody.

Yay for the weight gain Bronz, sounds like he is doing great! That's freaky about the temp though.. glad the little guy is fine, that's all that matters.

Yay for a pillow saving the day ScribblingAl. Lia tries to dive of the bed, literally. She crawls to the end then throws herself off... scary. Sounds like little Emily is more interested in walking than crawling.

Beansmom, I'm so missing my domestic. She only helped two days a week.. but geez... it's a lot of extra stuff to have to do. I think mine is only back on 12th or something, best I find out. Have you had to work too while You-you is gone? That must seriously be a nightmare to try work and clean and take care of Tayla. Eep.

Claudia, hope you are having a great holiday, don't stress about the Christmas cards. I actually never got around to sending any cards to family overseas.... oops. Oh well.

Lia is so cute, she also pulls up on everything.. and she is still constantly pointing at things and talking, mostly baby talk but the occasional word is popping up too. She is saying "fa" instead of fan and beh instead of "bear" (teddy bear).. which is what my son did too with some of his first words. She also says baba for baby but mostly she just shrieks the place down momentarily when she doesn't get her own way. *cringe* lol.
She has been constantly teething the past few weeks, popped out her 3rd and 4th tooth.. and a day later the 5th one was sticking out ever so slightly. Sleep has sucked, nothing unusual... she seems well otherwise so I'll just blame teeth *rolls eyes*. I'm not bargaining on her to sleep through any time soon anyway.

It's pretty awesome that we've been chatting so long... look how big our little ones have gotten.

Take care all.

Ok I had the blondest moment ever. Scribbling I was reading your post and thought wow there is a group just for that. I wonder if they meet up or its just on the internet. And then I came to my senses. Don't stress about being part of the club I am too. :P

We had an interesting Christmas. G had a temp so I called ER and they said bring him in, once in they said oh its not bad so you will hav eto wait 2 hours. So we opted to take him home and pando and cool water him. It went up and down for the next 2 days. Took him too the doc (after it had broken on monday) and he got a perfect bill of health.

Beansmom: Where is CT are you? Well done to Tayla. It seems there tolerance is rising, I am also finding G is coping better with less sleep if the situation calls for it.

Hello there everybody - well to all those that are still checking in...

@Bronz - the New Years Eve concert sounds awesome - but we've opted to have a quiet night at home. A little nervous driving so far on the drunkest night of the year. Especially with little Tayla... so we (hubby and I only) are going to do a little braai for just the two of us once madam has gone down.

We've had a hectic few days, and You You is on leave till 03 Jan - so I'm physically exhausted!!! Tayla refused to sleep on Christmas eve at hubby's moms place - so stayed up and opened gifts quietly with all of us until we left at 11pm. I was so proud of her for not performing being up so late! The Christmas day at my folks - again - she was such an angel. Even managed to get her to sleep for 2 hours (which hasn't happened in quite some time) and then again an hour in the afternoon. So all in all she gave mom a great Christmas present... she coped with all the crazy noise, masses of people, lights, opening of gifts and hectic schedule! And I am thankful it is all over!!

That is pretty much all I have from my side for now.... off to eat din dins... then chillax!

Bronz, that New Year's concert sounds lekker. And Graeme's already indicated that he likes it there ;) Wish we could join you. Desiree, will you still be in Cape Town over New Year?

Had a hectic week leading up to Christmas, but now that the juggling act's over and Christmas is just about over (still to celebrate with my family) things are quietening down and I'm looking forward to a few more days off work.

Emily's moving around so much - so much that we joined that special group of parents who've had to rescue a screaming child off the floor after they've fallen off the bed. Fortunately there was a pillow that broke her fall, and everything seems to be fine. Still no real crawling happening but we are pulling ourselves up and supporting our body on our legs (while being balanced with a pair of hands).

Good on Graeme gaining all that weight. Although if he's moving around so much he's probably working off a hell of lot - so if he's gained so much even with the moving around then I reckon you're home and dry.

Hey ladies.

The forum seems to be going quiet (And I mean since before the holidays).

Thank you so much to the ladies who helped me the other day. My boy seems to be putting on well now. (I was at spar next to the scale waiting for DH so I popped G on it, hehe.) It read 7,8kgs since 2 weeks ago at 7,3!!! Thats more than he has ever gained in a week.

I have a little terrorist on my hands. He now crawls every where, pulling on everything he can find. And he seems to be attracted to exactly what he is not allowed. He will fall and bump his head (so there is a bruise later) and barely cry. I am beating on a broken arm/ leg before we hit 6.

What are the plans?? For new years and Christmas (if you celebrate it)

I am thinking of going to the new years concert at Kirstenbosch, We went to the carols there the other night and it was great and G tolerated it sooooooo well! Any Cape Town mommies want to join? (BOJ, 1st Timer, Memo, Beansmom, I think who else. :P) I may throw this out to the forum, hmmmmm. (Oh I have t do some thing nice as we have a friend over from Eng and it must be baby friendly. :)

Hey ladies. Definitely quiet in here with the crazy season upon us:) I have been so busy trying to sort out shopping, work, and organise everything for our holiday. Tomorrow we have a friends 30th, then on Monday we are having a early christmas with my fam before we fly out on tuesday. Feeling quite nervous about the long flight with james, but im sure it will be fine!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy christmas and new years and I hope your little ones all enjoy the fun that comes with this time of the year! I had hoped to send everyone christmas cards, but I got as far as buying them, and never got addresses or even put pen to paper,so sorry:)
