Monitors work well:) James goes to bed in his cot in his own room. I have a monitor that I keep with me when I go to bed. He only gets into bed with me if he wakes up after I've gone to sleep:) I was getting so frustrated because he was sleeping through and then in September he stopped and now wakes a couple of times a night, but in the UK he slept through again, so I think hes just too hot at night. His room temp hasnt dropped below 25 in months, he wakes up sweating even though I dont cover him with anything anymore and he now is put down in a summergro and nappy. When it cools down again, I am pretty sure he will go back to sleeeping through, but for now I cant be bothered to be up and down during the night so he sleeps with me:) Strangely though he doesnt nurse constantly at night. He sucks when he wakes up, it settles him quickly and he falls off to sleep again:)

Claudia: Long story short to save money for a deposit for a house down here and to help my mom out for a bit.
The problem is there is no space in my room for a cot at all, may be I can get a monitor and feed him in mom's room. hmmmm.

Zulu: Shiya is gorgeous!!

Graeme has a purple gum???? Where the top tooth is coming out it has gone purple. Has any one else had this from teeth? Or else its from Graeme bumping it on his cot when he bounces. lol

Hey all. Why is it that so few Durban people seem to be on forums etc??? Do we not like the internet? Are we at the beach too much?

@ Scribblingal, James is also "walking" and pulling himself to stand. He just wants to stand all the time at the moment and his favorite game is to use mommy as a jungle gym. He has now finally started pulling himself forward on his tummy short distances - with lot of coersion from mommy:) Poor child has had physio from day 1!

@ Bronz, why 6 months in Joburg? I'm still breastfeeding, but then I'm one of those strange hippy people who is in it for the long haul. My goal is 2 years as per WHO recommendations:) Can you not get a camp cot in Joburg? Then you can continue with the night weaning? At the very least you can buy a super cheap one?

Food dont lets get started on that one... I am sooooo over having to decide what to eat everynight....

Hey Ladies

Sorry I have been AWOL lately. Life has been hectic. We are moving up to Joeys for 6 months (Deep dark south- Henley on Klip), so I can make the Monday meet if its in Feb?

I know of an awesome toddler area, but may be a bit far, in Broadacres Shopping centre. ( Any where will take me about an hour to get too).

Desiree: I so need all your recipes, I am keen to try the tuna bake myself. Still undecided whether or not I will stop fish once I stop Breast feeding. Although I have to go back on iron again as it has dropped my levels again and I have a nasty bruise on my arm.
How is your move coming along? I packed my first box today. And had a huge amount of ppl going through the house. Gets rather annoying after a while.

Jacadebra: Well done on the cruising, Graeme is also doing but only if he really wants something that is on the other end of the table, he is happier to crawl there if he can.

His crawling is now as fast as my slow walk, he missions so fast. I can not leave him for a second. The other day I pulled a snail out of his mouth and then half a christmas beetle (I dont want to think about the other half).

Scribbling: I want to see pics of your munchkin - will double check your fb page. But cant remember seeing those cheeks recently. I am going to do pics and videos tonight or in the morn.
Jacadebra said the other day that any way of getting from point A to B is crawling and I agree. There is no major issue with the baby not crawling as such - as long as they develop those muscles in other ways.

Pinky congrats on the crawling and your little girl is looking gorgeous. :)

Claudia happy you had a good trip. Teeth are better left in for longer. Graeme went through a stage of biting me. It was so sore I was going to wean him, (I dont think every one will agree with this) I tried the pushing his face in my boob and it didn't work, so I gave him a tap on the leg more a fright than sore and he hasn't bitten since.

I am in a bit of a pickle, Graeme will be sleeping in my mom's room in Joburg. He is still on the boob and in my bed at night. I can try get him off both but he wont have a cot for a week (It will be up in Joburg) So that means he will have to be in my bed. Any hints on getting him off the boob while he is right next to it? Or should I just do it all in Joburg? I have managed to get him off it quite a bit, I woe up with hard boobs in the morn.

Who is still breast feeding?

Scribbling could I ask for that meal plan. :D

Have a great eve ladies. :)

Hi Jacadebra, I'm fine with anywhere you are fine with. Who's coming? Me, you and Pinky? Any one else? Pinky and I are both near Clearwater - are there any toddler-friendly places near here that you know of?

I laughed at the mental picture of Lia with the spoon - Emily makes a huge mess feeding herself so she's not getting the spoon again until her coordination's a bit better.

We are still rolling everywhere. But she has started walking (ie moving her legs while you support her while she stands), so it looks like that leg movement is happening, so maybe a crawl is coming our way some time soon.

Desiree, do you make all that food yourself??? I'm going to seriously have to start making an effort on making more finger foods for madam. It's just been such a mission to even make food for us - take-out three nights in a row it's been...
